Happy birthday to me~

Such a day would require only the most diverting of celebrations, but alas! I've been incredibly busy with this project. However, do you understand what that means, my dear friends? This isn't a cancellation, but a mere postponement!

For a spring baby whose heart happens to belong to the coast like yours truly, the summer solstice is one of my favorite festivals! The juxtaposition of the best two seasons of the year! How could I say no to hosting a little show at such a meaningful event? And not just any show, oh no, it's a show for a good cause!

"Helping Hand" is an organization whose aim is to help victims of Team Rocket, be humans or Pokémon. As someone who had to watch his beloved and his protegee suffer at the hand of such despicable scoundrels, I want nothing more than to assist them - and so should you! Join us, I beg you!

Donate, if you please! It can be an egg. It can be an expensive item - or even a simple one, such as a Pokéball. It can be your time! Allow this humble bard to reward your help with a date! Wouldn't it be wonderful to support a good cause AND find love in the very same evening? A story to be told to future generations, I'd like to think!

I'd say "rather settled" is underselling yourself. ;) Handmade things would be delightful! My gratitude, Dimitri. I look forward to seeing how far you've become - Geralt's sword is lovely.

Indeed, we are staying in Olivine, with lots of warping to Cianwood every day. We're renting the same room we got the first time we were here - it has the perfect view of the ocean! The spring (soon to be summer) breeze brushes my hair while I write, and we get a beautiful sunset to grace us with its magnificent colors if we decide to dine on the balcony!

[Also it's the room where they had their first time so it's ~MEANINGFUL~.]

Geralt's sword is still rather simple in design, although I think that works best for sparring weapons that are so regularly used. I believe I could improve on the balance for such a thing. Still, we will see if I can craft something of interest to more than those who are inclined to combat.

If you do not mind, we could invite you to the home we are renting in Olivine, should that save you money. Still, it would not be able to compete with the view it sounds you have, so I will leave that decision up to you.

[Jaskier already has half of a long sentence written about Dimitri's carving skills when the invitation arrives and his fingers freeze, his mind entering panic mode. Thank the gods Geralt is out for his morning run with the dogs, because he'd surely ask why Jaskier is now pacing around the room, and he wouldn't know how the fuck to answer that question.

It's a simple invitation, a sweet gesture from a sweet bloke. Yet Jaskier just can't leave it at that. Staying at Dimitri's place would mean staying with Claude, aka the guy he used to sleep with. The arrangement is over, Geralt knows this, Claude knows this, there's nothing wrong with this, and it's not like Jaskier is about to start letting a boyfriend control his life, he's never been ashamed of his sexual life and he isn't about to start now, he expects to be trusted by his partner but also Geralt has issues that no ordinary person goes through and Jaskier is so bloody afraid of fucking up what they have and honestly why are relationships so hard?

Then there's Felix, who Jaskier supposes he's on neutral grounds with now, and it's not like they'll see each other a lot, right, Jaskier will be busy and out most of the day, and Geralt would probably enjoy some time with a friend, in fact he needs it, but there's no way cohabitation between bard and cat can go well... not to talk about the fact him and Geralt need a room for themselves for, ahem, reasons, and will those reasons bother the others? And since when does he care? He's taken lovers to lords' beds, for fuck's sake! And he and Geralt have stayed in small houses as well, cute little families that thanked them for their services by offering them a room, and that was never awkward, so why is he worrying about things getting awkward now, around their cute little polycule?

And he hasn't even touched on the matter of Kiri, but she of all people is probably the one he needs to worry about the least. Money isn't an issue either since he's gotten that magical coin attack on Limelight, but since when does he overthink accepting free shit? The fact this whole deal is bothering him in the first place irritates him even more! Who is he, what has he become.

Dimitri will notice the bubble with three dots that indicates the other person is typing staying up for a long, long moment. Jaskier writes like five different replies before he finally sends something that doesn't show his current inner turmoil, or at least, that's what he hopes.]

Dimitri, that's quite sweet of you but... are you sure that's a good idea? Is everyone there this month? Do they know about this invitation of yours?

[Dimitri hadn't thought that such a simple little invitation would take such a long time to consider, but, well. Here they are.]

We will all be returning to Olivine, yes. We will be preparing for our trip to the final gym here in Johto, and now I suppose we will be staying for this event you are participating in.

Your staying should not be a problem. We have a guest room available on the property we are renting, and Felix says that so long as you do not hog the bathroom he and Sylvain use, things should be fine. I don't believe that will be an issue, however.

Are you all right, Jaskier? Did something come up?

[...bollocks. So much for not wanting Dimitri to notice. This time the reply comes fast, gotta get rid of all suspicion!]

Worry not, my friend, everything is indeed all right! I'm just juggling too many things at the moment - the organization of such an event is keeping me rather busy, as you may've probably guessed already.

[Which is, to be fair, not a complete lie.]

I appreciate the offer, Dimitri, I truly do! I swear. It's very kind of you. But I shall pass for now. I will let Geralt know you are in the area, though! I know he enjoys your and Felix's company, and I do want him to relax with friends more often. It's good for him. And with me so busy and spending less time with him these incoming weeks, he'll need it more than usual.

I see, of course. This looks like quite the grand event that you are helping to bring into existence. I will offer what I can on my own end. Should you ever feel stressed or overburdened with all this work, please let us know. Claude and I would never want you to feel on your own.

To that end, if staying is not suitable, then please feel free to come to dinner sometime. As long as we have some notice, I'm sure we will be able to make lovely things for you.

Jaskier didn't see that one coming. It's not like he thought Dimitri disliked him per se, with the man being such a sweetheart and all, but he hadn't been sure he was considered like... a friend-friend, so to speak.

Such honest, kind words hit him hard with the surprise factor and all, and they make Jaskier feel both guilty and vindicated for his previous panicking at the same time. Mostly, though, he feels warm, supported. The panic he can figure out later, this is more powerful, he wants to cling to it. Dinner, huh? That... that's just hanging out. That he can do.

He wants to say something nice in return so, to make it clear that he isn't teasing this time, that he means it, he turns the conversation private.]

I know neither of you would ever do such a thing. I trust my kings - your reliable nature, your gentle souls, those bruised knuckles that fiercely protect what they love, those chivalrous hearts that keep beating no matter how many times they've been shattered.

Dinner is an invitation that I can accept. Thank you, Dimitri. We shall do our part too! What are the household's preferences when it comes to wine? Red, white, rose, sparkling?
