Does anyone here happen to be skilled in a field known as 'robotics', who might be willing to assist with a project of mine?

I know of a couple, but I must say my curiosity is simply bursting. What manner of project would you need assistance with?

It seems that the machinery that might allow a person to fly requires some amount of skill with robotics, skill which I unfortunately do not possess. Yet, at least.

Flight is no simple feat, even with the assistance of robotics. You will truly need one most skilled in the field.

I know of just the man, though I cannot say whether or not he will oblige, but I can say he won't for some days at the very least. Surely you can endure the wait.

i'm not sure if mr solus was borrowing dirk's, but i've seen dirk make robot parts just like he makes weird toys with tengu noses

Though... what exactly is a 'tengu'? I've never heard of such a thing before arriving here.

i'm sure dirk will help you! he's a really kind person, you know, and is very helpful

(and if you want to trade things for his help he likes horses and puppets and rapping)

also a tengu is a kind of spirit from back home and one of the ways they're represented in art and stuff is with really long noses

let me see if i have any pictures in my pokegear of dirk's tengu nose toys so you can see what i mean

Well if you're looking into robotics, the first one I'd think of is Dirk, but the question there is if he'll be interested.

What kind of project is it? Small, big...?

I'm attempting to make a pair of wings, small enough for a single person to use but capable of some amount of motion.

uh well
I never actually went to school for it or anything like that
but I built my robot arm and that works pretty good

got the battery life to last a lot longer lately which is really good since Im in the woods all of the time now

Kinda had to cobble together a charger but it's ok
It'd be a real pain in the ass traveling alone if it didn't

[Probably worse than that - he got pretty okay at doing things with only one arm, before he finished work on the prosthetic, but he was also never really alone during that time. Or, you know. Camping in the monster-infested woods. Still, Arthur's inclined to downplay these things.]

Where I am from, these sorts of aids are usually limited to being made out of wood and the like, so it is remarkable to see so many are familiar with this sort that have some amount of functioning.

I took a lot of mechanics and shops in school and I kinda made it a side hustle for money. I fixed up some machines, cars, and made a lot of mods for instruments.
