Summary: Ah, Christmas time! A time of joy, family and... commerce?

Like every year, the Goldenrod Christmas Market is opened on December 1st by a Santa (not the Santa, but certainly a Santa) with a merry Ho-Ho-Ho and a jolly tinkle of sleigh bells. And like every year, the stalls are stacked to the brim, overflowing with everything you might wish to buy this Christmas season. Every few stalls, the items make way for hot food and drink -- waffles, hot chocolate, cider, you name it and you can most certainly find it.

Just like last year, you too can open a stall at the Christmas Market. If you've got a special talent for creating things, why not drop by Goldenrod, and see if you can sell your creations for a bit of extra money. Stalls can be rented by the day, the week, or even for the whole month, so even if you've only got a small stash of items (or pokemon eggs or food or whatever) to sell, why not come by and try and make a buck.

[There's a teenager on the screen who at first glance might appear to be wearing some really weird jewelry; a necklace that looks like claws clasped together. The reality is that Louie's new starter is a surprisingly lazy Galarian Meowth, who is half-asleep against the boy's back, hanging onto him like some kind of viking sloth.

Louie, for his part, well... He's trying to play it a bit cool and casual - this will be any newbies' first impression of him, after all - but he can't help grinning. He's so happy to be here again.]

Well, looks like I'm back, huh? [He leans a bit to show off the Meowth, who doesn't react beyond a blink.] And I finally got my cat that acts like a cat!

His name is Penningar, and mine's Louie. [He made the mistake of giving his last name straightaway the first time, and so many people were confused.] Like I mentioned, I've been here before, although it seems like I'm back at square one now. I mean, I figured my Pokemon wouldn't be waiting, but... My badges are gone, too. I guess that makes sense, but-- Man, not loving the idea of doing that again. Actually, I might, you know, not.

Anyway, shelfing that for now - as well as the fact that I'm back in time for winter and walking through snow, gross - I mostly just wanted to tell people I'm back and meet people who came here since I've been gone, I guess.

[Shoto doesn't normally do a lot of network things, let alone want to try to front and center his pokemon in them, but, today he wants to do something fun and wants no one to get hurt. He's never really celebrated halloween for various reasons, but it seems the season for his spoopy babies to have the best chance at showing that it's not so scary to deal with ghost pokemon. Looking at you Jack.]

Hello. You may know that Halloween is coming up. I thought I would take the opportunities with the contest, and other things going on in some cities to show that not all ghost pokemon are so frightening. I've had good results doing this in the past and want to continue on that track.

( TL;DR every reason you shouldn't go near Ghost pokemon, but also please take their candy they are good boils and ghouls honest they won't feast on your soul, he promises, really they won't they're so well behaved and not at all only good under his supervision. )

Summary: It's time to celebrate the Festival of Wishes!

Pewter City is one of those towns that doesn't draw a lot of attention. It's nice and has that museum, but it never seems to be the scene of much excitement.

[But Gremlin is making this post. And he doesn't care about that.]

[The camera is positioned somewhere on the floor, and seems to catch the image of Gremlin the Rattata just... chittering at someone off-camera. His little rat hands smack against the dirt ground insistently - he's outside somewhere, hard to say where - and he seems quite fired up about something. Whoever he's talking to doesn't seem to have bought into... whatever he's asking. At least not yet, and then there's just... an incredibly word weary sigh. But an agreement seems made! So Gremlin makes an excited squeak, and rushes off camera...]

[A voice starts speaking.... right as Dimitri's entire full team of Rattata and Raticate rush out with different signs, each carrying a letter written in bright glitter.]

The rules of the game are simple: You post a picture of yourself, and various other people on the network comment back rating how attractive you are!

Raters, you can say "hot" or "not", leave stars, use numbers, but it's aaaaaaaaaaaaaall good!

It's not only hotness as well! Any appeal is good appeal!

[OOC: So yeah, IC Hot or Not is back for another round. The rules are indeed pretty simple - Characters can post pictures of themselves, their Pokemon, or even their CR as long as player permission is got. Rate, threadjack, complain about the network being used for this or why a rat is up to shenanigans, it's fine.

Characters can also go on anon for rating or posting pictures; Gremlin just didn't because rats are foreign to the concept of shame.

Additionally, if you do use images, try to link them instead of embedding them just so it's easier for the post to load, and warn for anything NSFW.

This year, transport arranged by Riegfried and Soy will deliver everyone to the Sevii Islands -- a short trip for some, a longer journey for others. Either way, at around eleven AM, everyone who was interested in joining will have been gathered at a cheery cafe, fully reserved for the event so people have somewhere to sit and wait while the rest arrive. All bags will be taken by the couple's employees immediately upon arrival, with the promise that Trainers will find them waiting for them on the ship.

At eleven, Soy checks a pocket watch, then he addresses the crowd.

"Welcome all! Riegfried and I are so happy to see so many of you here. It heartens us greatly to see you trust us again with the hosting of this event. Please be assured that everything in our power has been done to prevent a repeat of last year's catastrophe, and we've worked closely with the League to ensure that everyone involved in this project is trustworthy. Now, if you'll follow me."

It's just a short trek from the bright little cafe to the ship's mooring. Or such is what all will be told as they walk. Riegfried and Soy lead the possession, coming to a momentary halt as the gathered Trainers crest a small dune. There, they both sweep off their top hats, giving deep and theatrical bows as they gesture towards a small, private bay where not one, not even two, but three airships lay moored along a pier, waiting for everyone to board.

"Welcome to Prom."

So this is a weird question, but there's a lot of weird people here so maybe some of you have answers.

Anybody else have problems reacting to normal situations because they haven't lived normal lives? Yeah, yeah, we're all well outside of normal, especially here, but I mean like all the way down to the bones of the basics. Like you don't know how to deal with birthdays because you've never celebrated yours before. (Specifically, in a world where that's an expected thing people do.) Or you're not sure how to care about people genuinely because you never had...relationships? You don't know how to deal with kids because you never had a childhood. That's the kind of thing I'm talking about.

I feel like I'm play-acting being a person a lot of the time because I never got the fundamentals. I know how to put on a good show, but I don't know how to be. There's got to be other people who were home sick the day the lesson on how to be a human being came up in the curriculum. So I want to know how those people deal with it.

This is a question for people who have been here for a very long time.

[The person speaking doesn't show their face onscreen, but sounds like a young woman. It's like they want to stay anonymous. but don't have the technical know-how to do that, so the public at large gets a view of boring berry bushes.]

Do you ever feel like you don't really belong here even after so long? I... I mean, I know none of us do since we're all from different worlds? But some people are happy... most people are happy? They're happy here. They have nice lives like they didn't have back where they're from, but you don't. Something always goes wrong or you're dumber than everybody else no matter how hard you try to learn and your friends keep leaving and even after they say it's okay to be their friend so you're stupid and believe them and all that happens is they leave again and you're the dummy. And you don't look like the other people so you're not pretty or handsome or anything like that and those books with the shiny pictures [they're called magazines, you sweet child] say you should look one way, but you don't no matter how hard you try.

[That was a little bit of a thought dump there, but if she stays on one idea too long, Sasha is afraid she'll start crying and soldiers aren't supposed to show emotion, at least none except anger because then anger can be used to get a mission done. Even this network post is breaking that rule.]

But you can't go home because home is bad and whoever picks people to go home never picks you anyway, so you just have to stay here and be...

[She wants to say "dumb and sad and lonely and ugly", but continues on without finishing.]

What do you do?

[ When the feed first picks up it's completely black, as if something is covering the camera, but a voice is immediately heard. ]

[ Whatever is covering the camera is removed, and light flares for a moment before it adjusts to reveal a very zoomed in portion of a person's face, especially the eye which seems to be...just a bit red. ]

I think I got it working? This is so weird... Hello? Can anyone hear me? That, uh...that woman back in town said I can talk to people on this thing?

I'm looking for my family, the Madrigals. Has anyone seen them?

[ The camera is pulled back a bit, and the image of the person's face - a young woman, it seems like - is clearer to see. It's especially easy to see that she appears very nervous, and is either on the verge of tears, or has just finished crying. ]

[ It's been a good while since Eri's used the network, but recent circumstances have made it... well... probably the best first course of action for her.

For anyone who recognizes her, you may notice that her hair is actually much shorter... a cute little bob haircut, albeit still with various objects just utterly stuck in it. Yeah, the Snorunts were a little mean this month. In any case, with her hair cut shorter, it's much less susceptible to getting stuck in practically everything... but still somehow she finds herself with twigs, leaves, and whatever else trapped in it.

Besides the point, though... her cheeks are a little stained with tears when the camera turns to face her, but it's mostly faded after some time before she turned the camera on. ]

Um... [ A-Ahh, what was she going to say again... ah, right! ] H-Has anyone seen Ura—ah, I mean... O-Ochako-san? [ They'd probably recognize her actual name rather than her Hero name, she thinks. ] I um... woke up today and they weren't here... I thought maybe they left for a bit, but they haven't been back all day... a-and I dont see their name on this anymore...

[ It probably can't get much more clear as to what's happened. ]

I-I'm still okay! B-But It's been a while... and if she sees this, um... where are you? Where did you go...?

Who: Hythlodaeus, Emet-Selch, Ghosts & You
Where: Egglysium Lodge & Ranch (South of Goldenrod)
When: Mid-October to Mid-November
Summary: Festivities abound! There are games to play, frights to have, shiny applin to win, and ghosts to catch.

Hythlodaeus' sprawling ranch has been all done up for the spooky harvest season- including himself. He's dressed as a Grim Reaper, face paint and all. The premises consists of a large lodge, a couple barns, a stable, and a sizeable lake all positioned on the hilly fields. Bales of hay dot the land. Should you show up as the sun sets, dozens of jack-o-lanterns light the path up to the main area where lights and decorations are strung around. The main decor theme seems to be "skeleton", and the visitors may enjoy the projected interpretation of such pokemon skeletons as spinaraks, gengars, and grimers.

There is food aplenty on the tables, mostly consisting of hot stews, fresh pies, doughnuts, and ciders. For the adults, Hythlodaeus will spike the cider with some spiced rum if asked. There is a modest price tag on these items, though there is a sign stating that wearing a costume earns free food. You did remember to wear a costume, right? Or perhaps there is something in your bag or around you could cobble to convince the proprietor?

[When the video flicks on, the first thing the camera focuses on is a Zephyr Badge, proudly being held up by some gloved fingers. Then it's pulled away from the camera to reveal a smiling Hawks. A Toucannon - almost half his own size - is perched imperiously on his shoulder, looking haughty but self-satisfied. Judging by the slightly off-balance way Hawks is standing, she's a considerable weight, but he's bearing up well regardless.]

It took me awhile, but I'm finally on my way with this gym challenge stuff. This is technically my second badge - I'm kinda doing things out of order - but hey, I'm the bird guy. The bird gym badge is the one I'm proudest of.

[He tucks the badge into his pocket before lifting a hand to brush the Toucannon's chest feathers affectionately with the back of his hand. The attitude she wears as he does this is as if she's doing him a favor by accepting the attention.]

Sesame here did almost all the work, even though she's only half as strong yet as my main team. I guess even a themed team can make use of type advantages sometimes.

That said, I've got a question for any other trainers out there who've got a selectively limited roster. I want to know if there are any tips for dealing with the drawbacks of focusing on certain types. I know there are gyms out there that aren't going to be too friendly to a team of birds, and I'm curious how other trainers might've tackled being at a distinct disadvantage. I've got some potential tactics of my own, but hearing some other ideas I might be able to incorporate into my strategy can't hurt.

Hey, if anyone's still checking out that temple, I have some information that should be helpful. I found a map of an area in the middle part of the temple. When me and some others followed it, we found a big door with this weird-looking lock on it. I figure if I found the map, someone else might have found the key, or at least has some idea of how to get in there.

Let me know if you're interested, and I'll meet you near the temple to pass off the map and what went down for my team. I'm planning to head back to Azalea Town soon, but I'll wait a bit for this.

You know, as far as treasure hunts go, this one hasn't been too bad! I'm ready to move on, though.

When: Backdated to hell and back to around 7/8
Summary: Izuku broke his wrist, but has been too anxious to get it looked at. Hawks concludes that hey, Izuku's a kid, maybe he needs an adult's presence to reassure him? (And if he doesn't, Hawks can just oversee things anyway to make sure Izuku actually gets his wrist fixed.)
Rating: PG, probably nothing worse than doctor-related stuff and broken bone talk
