Right now Bakugou is sitting on a bench, a pretty beat up Feebas on his lap. Trying to flop around wildly on that lap. Katsuki's trying to hold it down. ]

No wonder they were tugging your fins and shit. You're fugly...

People who focus exclusively on battling. It takes a lot of work to get a Feebas to evolve, and since it's seen as an 'ugly' Pokemon by a lot of people, not everyone's willing to put in the extra work.

[But Riku shrugs and shakes his head. It's not like he's got that mindset anymore.]

Honestly, makes me feel bad for them. They aren't even that ugly in the first place. They're just fish.

Yeah. I've seen Magikarp, too. They're not what I'd call cute, but... they're fish. Normal looking fish with all the bells and whistles.

You grow up on an island, you get used to seeing them. These guys are just bigger and turn into sea serpents.

Never said anything about embracing. I just think they're pretty average by fish standards.

Still, it's got one thing over Magikarp- it can learn some decent attacks, and they're pretty sturdy. Apparently they can even get by in polluted water.
