[Scrooge has been handling being here pretty well, to be honest. He's got a team that's almost completely fully evolved, he's done various odd jobs in cities to make some extra coin (at least, until he can catch his own Meowth). No badges yet, but he's doing all he can to work toward that, too. He's even handled some of Ilex Forest, although at the moment he's back in Azalea.
There is, however, one question on his mind. So one afternoon he finally decides to put it forth to whoever might decide to answer.]
Is there another way of getting items rather than buying them or relying on the faulty luck of Pickup? There's GOT to be something more than just being at the mercy of the store clerk.

Unfortunately, most of this planet's economy is based on currency. You could always work for a week to earn funds for an item, make friends and have them give items to you, but aside from that I can't think of any other legal options.
[At least he's able to go shopping. Before coming to this world, she hadn't been able to for ten thousand years, even when Coran and the Paladins got to.]

[If this had been video, those last two words would have frozen solid.]

[Eh, she's produced colder.]
Glad to hear it. [No, really, she is, she does NOT want to deal with some crime spree on the mainland.] If you have the funds and are still able to meet the needs of yourself and your Pokémon after purchase, then why not pay for it?

Provisions for my Pokemon are exceptions, of course. They get everything they need and more.

[There's a long pause and then]
Lending things however, under a contract? That could be doable. Now, I tend to be on the receiving end of most things mind, with all due interest figured out ahead of time of course...

Charm can go a long way after all.

[To a degree.]
I wouldn't have nearly made it as far as I did without it.

What exactly are you thinking you could do?
[Other than stealing, because he can tell THAT option is not welcome either.]

Kind of like what people used to do with pigs to find truffles.

Those items are a nice little bonus at best, really. I hear some Pokémon are particularly talented at finding opponents with items, but it still involves hours of searching.

Otherwise, you're basically stuck with the marts and department stores. Maybe some smaller businesses.

apologies for delay- family stuff kept me a bit busy
But honestly, shouldn't be too hard to set up a business if you can find the right niche. Even within the first year that people started showing up here, we had folks setting up things like a Breeding Center. You save up enough cash to rent a building or some land, have a good hook, and it's all just a matter of time before the customers start rolling in.
Plus, you've probably got more experience than I did when I started out. Pretty sure I was sixteen when I tried to "make it big."

Selling the things you get but don't need through Pickup will help recover some of the losses, at least.
Text
Aye, I suppose that certainly is an option. I certainly do want to sell things in the future through my own business, but I *suppose* short term selling can also work.
[As in, Louie should be able to hear that ratcheting calculator noise from here.]
Re: Text
Actually, no. That's pretty much exactly what I should have expected.
