[Well, Allura had gone shopping in Goldenrod both for regular things and supplies for the upcoming party, not thinking much of the mist other than winter weather. But then a noise from the fog, and Allura rushes in with her small brood of Pokémon to make sure this isn't a real attack--oh. Oh that's... Allura tries VERY hard to disguise her chuckle as clearing her throat, not quite seeing the massive wings yet among the swarm of brick orange floof.]

A-are you all right, sir...?

[ sandalphon had floof in both his ears, or else there would have been a wildly different response towards that noise. but he couldn't stay confused, because that hisuian growlite almost broke a bone in his wing, and sandalphon let out a cry of legitimate pain. it startled the growlite so much that they stopped moving, looking on in worry, but the one on his wing did not move.

lucifer, have mercy on him. ]

No! [ he surprised even himself at how strained he sounded. ] Hurry before they break something!

[OKAY YEAH, that's much less cute!]

Morling, Chumirra, Water Gun!

[The golden Floatzel and tiny Azurill send out sprays of water towards the pack, and considering these Growlithe are Fire AND Rock, they scatter off of Sandalphon quickly with a chorus of "yipeyipeyipe!" Once they've dispersed, Allura holds out a hand to help him up. She figures asking him if he's all right a second time would be redundant.]

[ he will very graciously take the offered hand, groaning. but as soon as he tried moving his wing, he winced, badly. at least it just hurt. bleeding would have been a lot, lot worse. there was also water all over him.

honestly, nothing a little magic won't fix, but first, sitting on something else that isn't the floor would be nice. ]

[ as long as she doesn't point out the fact that he could have used his own magic to free himself from the floofy mess, he's fine. nope, not going to mention it.

It makes travel a lot easier and more efficient. I still don't understand how humans can spend so much time on the ground...

We manage. And this place does have quite a few modes of transportation available. Still, I can't imagine why this set of rules have just... suddenly stopped working. What next, gravity?

[ but that thing about transportation gets him thinking. ] but returning back to the comment on transportation-- does this world have airships or something? I haven't seen any when I was in the air...

Air*ship*? Hm, not those specifically [unless you're Team Plasma, but wrong region], but there are aircrafts like airplanes and helicopters. The most common form of aerial transport is by riding a Pokémon that knows the move Fly.

[ oh right, those devices that looked like airships, but weren't. his lips press into a thin line. ]

Looks like a giant, white, metal fish? ... I almost got hit by one of those, I believe.

[ he moves on as if that isn't a thing to be worried about. ] Fly, hm...? I've heard that one needs to defeat the Gym leader for that ability.

Exactly. Well... leaders, really. One gives you the Hidden Machine that teaches Fly, while the other gives you the capacity to use the move outside of battle; apparently the order varies between the two regions.

[Kind of like training vs permit, she guesses.]

Then I really am behind on gyms. I'll need to pick up my Pokémon before even attempting to try the first one.

[ though he's sure he could defeat the gym with just one pokémon. he's over leveled his pokémon quite a bit. ]

It isn't. Though seeing those... Growlithe? [ a small shrug. ] Was definitely new. Why are they so fluffy...?

Indeed. I thought... [She pulls out her Pokédex to look up Growlithe... and squints at the picture.] You're right, those didn't resemble a Growlithe at all, at least not according to the Pokédex. Could it be a new regional variant?

Regional Variant? [ he's aware of different regions, given his capability of flight, but he didn't know that they had different pokémon. but then again... ] Is that what alternate versions of pokémon are called?

Some of them, yes. There are also normal color variations, shiny Pokémon, as well as some Pokémon that can switch between different forms under certain conditions.

[Basically Pokémon designers are the REAL superheroes.]

[ sandalphon hummed. he's never seen anything of the sort, so he's having a bit of an epiphany right then and there. ] I see... I'll have to keep my eye out then. I'll have to catch one of my own one day...

[ as he mutters that, he starts checking for everything on his person. everything seemed to be alright... but it was then when the angel's noibat came crossing by, following a joltik that was carrying a berry. when did it come out? was it the growlithe hitting his pokéball? he doesn't know but he can't help but stare. ]
