There's a pretty good chance he'll just find a lot of relatively useless dead ends, especially at first. No point in sending other people off on the same wild goose chases to no avail.

"Could be though that people just wind up leaving here as suddenly as they get here."

"I thought you had other things you'd rather be searching for than hunting down information on possible gates between worlds."

He won't be surprised if she's changed her mind, but it doesn't hurt to clarify.

"These gates sound interesting. And I'd like to get home myself. I am nearly out of arsnic."
