Well, mostly rather straightforward and quite interested in learning how to strategize with and utilize Pokemon in battle. Or at least, that was most of what we talked about.

Yes. These creatures--they are collectively called Pokemon, though there are hundreds of different species of sorts within that--are most often used to have friendly battles against each other.

*he shakes his head slightly at that second remark though*

If this place has brought you back with no memory of your prior stay, there's really nothing to be done for it. There's no need for you to worry yourself over it.

Well, your partner may feel differently about that. Most Pokemon seem to enjoy the challenge of battling, though there certainly are exceptions too, of course.

Is that so? I think I wouldn't mind that.

Oh? They enjoy that? How interesting... do they not get hurt?

Generally speaking, not much more than a few bumps and bruises. Even when they may appear to be heavily injured, they can be quickly healed either with the potions or such you can purchase at the stores here, or at a Pokémon Center. Not to mention, they can shrug off attacks that could potentially kill an ordinary human to begin with...

*he shrugs*

I would recommend seeing how interested or not your partner is in battling; Pokémon who want to do so will often try to engage whether their trainer's willing or not, which can be more risky than a properly supervised battle.

How fascinating. I can't imagine little Breakfast here fighting... but then again I'll have to ask him I suppose. It's interesting how much they seem to understand of human language, too.

You might be surprised. Even the smallest ones can be quite powerful. And many of them do seem to be quite intelligent, yes.

That depends on how you plan to go about it, doesn't it? For example, you could just try battling and see what happens, or you could look up some information on the same device you're using to communicate.

Ah... perhaps the latter then. I am not quite so experienced with technology, but I will have to put it to some practice I think.

You should also have received a handbook with the basics in the bag you were given, and there's certainly plenty of similar resources to be found if you wish to research. Even so, if there's something you're having trouble understanding, you should always feel free to ask.
