Yes... [ He lifts the Espurr up to the screen who makes a happy chirp. ] Breakfast.
no subject
[That would explain a lot.]
[Fortunately, there's an adorable distraction-]
- Well. Hi Breakfast.
no subject
[ The Espurr takes up the whole screen for a moment, mewling. ]
He says hello.
no subject
[Hopefully.]
[All the mewing attracts someone else - Shiro's Incineroar. Who shoves her entire head into frame to say hello.]
... so does Red.
no subject
[ WHOA what is THAT?! ]
Oh! Is that yours? Hello Red!
no subject
[No, sincerely, it is. It always helps, waking up and already knowing people.]
[His voice is a little muffled, considering the enormous Muscle Cat smushing her whole self into view.]
Yeah, she's one of mine - an Incineroar. Started off about the size of your Breakfast.
no subject
[ Is he proud of them? Absolutely. ]
Oh my... will Breakfast get that large?
no subject
[GO ON, potential new friend!!]
I'm - not actually sure. I don't think I've seen what Espurr evolves into.
no subject
[ Record scratch. ]
Evolves into?
no subject
[Oh. Oh no.]
[Byleth you sweet summer child.]
I... yeah. The creatures here change shape and size when they hit a certain amount of training.
no subject
[ You have piqued his interest. ]
A certain amount of training... how odd. I wonder what you might become, Breakfast- I hope you stay as cute.
Espurr!
no subject
[.... In so many words.]
I'm sure it will. And hey, if you find out it won't be, there's ways to keep them from changing.
no subject
no subject
Uh. Which part?
no subject
no subject
Oh boy. Um.
Okay - space. Planets and stars. Does that ring a bell at all or...?
no subject
no subject
Space is what we call where planets and stars are, well, located, for lack of a better word. If you go high enough, you'll leave the planet you live on, and enter space.
In my world, we had the capability to go up there.

It's - there's nothing like it. Nothing in the world. It's weightless, infinite... I miss it a lot, actually.
But stars - stars are actually suns. They're enormous, these massive balls of fire out there in the middle of nothing, making constellations. And ah. Well. The moon's really kind of a rock.
Great craters though.
no subject
If the moon is just a rock why does it glow?
no subject
As... far as why they stay burning... [How the heck do you explain solar nuclear fusion.] ... they're made of elements that - essentially cause a cycle of burning and refueling. They do eventually burn out, but it can take millions of years.
[Nailed it??]
Suns rise and set because of planets rotating. [More hand motions.] Everything in space is spinning, to an extent. Things like planets are too large for us to really notice the rotation. You'd feel it on a smaller asteroid, or ship, but not a planet. So when they turn, we see the sun moving across the sky.
A lot of people live out there. One of my best friends does, actually. She's here if you ever want to meet her.
[Oh he is living, bless you Byleth.]
The moon glows with reflected sunlight. It doesn't have any air, like our planets do, so there's nothing to dim or block the light when it hits. We're seeing it reflect like a big rocky mirror.
no subject
Millions? I can't even fathom that length of time. Wait- If the planet spins too fast will we all fly off?
Yes. I would love to meet her.
This is so much... I need. I need to lay down...
no subject
[Or to asteroids.]
And, no, planets... they can't spin that fast. It's just not physically possible, they're too large.
Oh! Sorry, I - I get excited about this. We can stop there if you need to.

Are there books on this? There has to be. Do you mind teaching me more?
