I have Ky, my Piplup, right here. [He gestured for the gear then turned it to Ky who stared at Byleth for a bit before he looked back up at Ashe who nodded.] He's another person I trust, Ky. [The Piplup looked back at Byleth for a few more seconds when he waved. Ashe walked over to the counter to place his gear so he could see Byleth's face again.] I have Loog, my Mudkip, a Growlithe and Lampent from Lysithea and I feel like I have another one I have to check. I know they can be really shy when meeting new people.

[Ashe always felt bad when he couldn't remember all his new companion creatures off the top of his head. He walked over to the refrigerator to grab a carton of eggs and placed them on the counter. Since living here for awhile he remembered which cabinet had the equipment he needed. Ashe placed the bowl next to the carton and grabbed an egg when he heard Byleth's request.

A hug? Ashe couldn't remember the last time he actually hugged someone, including his siblings that it took him by surprise he accidentally broke the egg in his hand.] Ahh! Sorry about that! {Ashe gave Ky a reassuring look before going over to the sink to wash his hands. He turned to the gear as he shyly nodded. Yes, I can do that.

Hello Ky. Like Kyphon yes? [ Just a guess, knowing Ashe. Of course there's a Loog. He quirks a brow watching him break the egg, some removed level of amusement. He's missed Ashe so much. ]

Ahh, am I distracting you? I can let you know when I'm closer to arriving.

Yes like Kyphon! [Ashe quickly added as he cleaned his hand. He really didn't mean to do that in front of Byleth!]

Oh no, you're fine! Luckily, we have more eggs where that come from! Great, I should have everything ready by time you get here. [It would also give him time to settle down before he arrived.]

[ When at last they do arrive, Byleth is fairly exhausted from the long trip. Though likely Dimitri more so, as the man had allowed Byleth to sleep against him while they flew. Still, he is intent on seeing everyone first before he inevitably collapses on the nearest flat surface. He peers into the kitchen where he'll expect to find the archer.

And he does! It was either that, somewhere reading or the garden. ]

[ The greeting is a fair bit warmer than Byleth had been in the past, but it's been a year and he's slowly been learning to be- well. More of a person. He stands in the doorway to the kitchen, holding his arms out. Come on. Get all up in this hug. ]

[Ashe finished plating the last piece of food for Byleth then stepped back to admire how it looked. He's sure it wouldn't be enough for Byleth's huge appetite, but he hoped it would be able to tide him over for awhile. He had a bowl of food for his pokemon too.

Ashe wiped his hands on his kitchen towel when Byleth walked in. It's been so long since he saw the professor that he couldn't believe he's in front of him again. He knew his face started burning when Byleth opened his arms, but he couldn't help it! Ashe walked over and wrapped his arms around his waist.]

Hi Byleth.

[He quickly discovered that he liked hugging or it could be that he hasn't received a hug since he was last home with his siblings, either way he really enjoyed it.]

[ Byleth folds into the hug comfortably. He's gotten better at this whole... physical affection thing. Squeezing him tightly at first. One hand moves to gently ruffle his hair. He's not really bothered to stay here as long as Ashe likes, or will tolerate.

Hugs are... very nice. ]

Ahh, I missed seeing your smiling face.

[Ashe knew he would enjoy the hug, but he didn't expect the warmth that passed through him from it. At first Ashe didn't wrap his arms around him the tight squeeze surprised him, until he eased into it. He wrapped his arms around Byleth's waist and leaned into the hand in his hair. Everything felt so warm, so nice, he's pretty fine staying in this hug for a long time.

[ Hugs are nice, and Ashe gives wonderful ones. It comes with the territory of being So Baby. He does eventually release him after a couple of minutes, stepping back. ]
