I have very little shame in admitting I know nothing of this most recent holiday, or much of what this realm considers 'normal'.

[Or shame in much else. Sitting outside a cafe in Goldenrod, Ardyn was accompanied by a vaguely slimy Type-Null in a large, comfortable sweater. Because it's cold out.]

But I would like to know just where this came from. [He gestured to the egg in his arms, also nested in a scarf.] Or why no one else seems confused that such things appeared to manifest entirely out of thin air. Even this much is leagues beyond what the gods of my own realm bothered to do for mortals, so I can't quite decide if I'm alarmed or impressed.

Divine intervention counts as 'thin air'. And we don't have 'Christmas' where I hail from, so the concept remains somewhat a mystery to me.

Normally I'd be able to answer this, but honestly I have no idea how the holiday even exists here. The important thing is that it's a holiday to celebrate loved ones in the coming winter, enjoying food and giving gifts to people you love~!

Oh, can't remember. That sort of thing comes part and parcel with being a couple thousand years old.

That just makes it worse if you can't think of a single happy thing! Do you even know what you like if it's been that long with nothing? Sunsets? The horizon? Baby animals?

Now that's just quitters talk, [she huffs.] There's always time to take steps to bring it back to something healthy! I'd even argue you have more of it if you've lived that long. And besides, what do you have to lose in letting yourself learn to enjoy anything!

That earns a shrug. How can you tell? Mostly by the way it causes the image on the 'gear to shift.

"More unlikely than waking up in a world you've never heard of where people pit monsters kept in balls against each other for sport that none of them get truly hurt in anyway?"

Geddoe's been here all of two weeks. He's still trying to get a feel for what's actually considered weird by this place's standards.

[Riz knows Gods exist. Of course, they do. You'd be silly to question that. But just because he knows Gods exist, doesn't mean Riz has faith in one. He's not a follower, not like that. The Gods and him operate much like Riz and the popular kids do at school -- they exist both exist in roughly the same realm, but they sure as heck don't ever interact!]
