[The hell? How'd he end up here when he'd fallen asleep after texting Iwaizumi something stupid and getting called loserkawa again and told to go back to bed. Tooru is all levels of confused when the woman he knows isn't his mother is shooing him off out of the house that definitely isn't his.

After the confusing things are out of the way and he's told how the 'gear works, he immediately takes to whatever social media outlet would handle his whining. Not the maturest of things to do, but he's determined to get Iwaizumi's attention somehow if he's out there and there's no better way to get it than being a pest to him.]

Iwa-chan are you out there at all? This is one hell of a dream and it looks like it's one of the things that some of the Seijoh kids play.

[The camera points down to the Shinx next to him, looking a bit grouchy.]

Maybe I could just call you Iwa-chan, you look grumpy like him!

[The Shinx lets out a noise only described as a grumble, which only makes Tooru laugh and think the name even more perfect. He's going to keep the name, which he was joking about before to get the real Iwaizumi to come yelling at him for it, but now it's just too fitting. The camera points back to Tooru, whose cheeks are puffed out in a small pout.]

But if anyone's seen Iwa-chan-- Iwaizumi, let him know his best friend, Oikawa, is looking for him.

[ this. this was a surprise to be had while scrolling through the gear. yachi audibly gasps and quickly scrambles to send him something, but ends up turning everything on too fast, fast enough to catch: ]

The Great King—?! Oikawa!

[ hush— she hangs around hinata for naming the whos. ]

[Hearing the name Hinata's called him by catches Tooru off guard enough that he stares back in shock at the blonde girl he vaguely remembers around Karasuno's team. Right. She's the other manager besides Kiyoko, the small and cute one.

At least someone else from home is there, so there's hope!]

Y-yes? That's me, the great Oikawa! Yachi-chan, was it?

[chirpier]

Ah— Yes! H-hi! [ her name was remembered! amazing! ] Welcome, I mean! I know this is really a handful to take in all at once!

I didn't think I'd see someone from home the second I show up, but at least I didn't run into Ushiwaka... Hopefully he's not here.

[But more importantly before he starts having a fit about that-- she's right about it being A Lot to take in, and he has questions. A few of them.]

But anyway. Just where exactly are we? This isn't Miyagi, unless Miyagi got turned into some world with weird animals. Someone told me these animals are called Pokémon.

[chirpier]

[ yachi mutters a measly: h-he’s not . . . there’s nothing against wakatoshi, but damn if the young man ain’t scary.

and for a second, yachi’s mouth drops. ah. oikawa . . . had he never played pokémon?! she feels so young. she feels like a baby in comparison. ]

Y-yeah, Pokémon! Like, um— Pocket Monsters? Do you remember those? We’re definitely not in Miyagi anymore.

[Volleyball has always been Tooru's main focus, he'd never put in the time to watch or play with pokemon games. Godzilla though, he'd watched that with Iwaizumi plenty of times.]

OH! That's what those are. Takeru and his friends play that, and watch the show. But if this isn't Miyagi, then are we really in the same world that Takeru's games are..?
