Set 1 - Video
[The hell? How'd he end up here when he'd fallen asleep after texting Iwaizumi something stupid and getting called loserkawa again and told to go back to bed. Tooru is all levels of confused when the woman he knows isn't his mother is shooing him off out of the house that definitely isn't his.
After the confusing things are out of the way and he's told how the 'gear works, he immediately takes to whatever social media outlet would handle his whining. Not the maturest of things to do, but he's determined to get Iwaizumi's attention somehow if he's out there and there's no better way to get it than being a pest to him.]
Iwa-chan are you out there at all? This is one hell of a dream and it looks like it's one of the things that some of the Seijoh kids play.
[The camera points down to the Shinx next to him, looking a bit grouchy.]
Maybe I could just call you Iwa-chan, you look grumpy like him!
[The Shinx lets out a noise only described as a grumble, which only makes Tooru laugh and think the name even more perfect. He's going to keep the name, which he was joking about before to get the real Iwaizumi to come yelling at him for it, but now it's just too fitting. The camera points back to Tooru, whose cheeks are puffed out in a small pout.]
But if anyone's seen Iwa-chan-- Iwaizumi, let him know his best friend, Oikawa, is looking for him.

You've got a best friend that's rude and smacks you around and calls you names too? I'm already missing him calling me dumbass, and it's only been a few minutes!
Midoriya-san, nice to meet you! Oikawa Tooru, I guess now former captain of the Aoba Johsai boys volleyball team, and yes I do have questions. For starters, what do these people here expect us to do? They just say to go and train and catch Pokémon, but what else, is that it?

[Best friends, though? He knows Katsuki and Kirishima are undoubtedly are, but their relationship is a little more...complicated. It's harder for Katsuki to outright admit such things, at any rate.]
It's good to meet you too! Uwaah, you play volleyball...? That's really cool. I wasn't too good at a lot of sports when I was little, so I didn't get into them as much as some others.
[HE'S...CLUMSY, but he's gotten better.]
And, well! That doesn't have to be all you do, but that's a huge part of what most of the trainers do here. Some people get assigned to be breeders when they arrive, which means they breed Pokemon instead of focusing as much on training. There's nothing saying you can't do both though, breeders are just better at it than trainers are.

Iwa-chan and I grew up together too, we've known each other longer than I can remember. Ever since I was a kid, Iwa-chan played with me. I'm a setter and he's my ace, as well as my co-captain.
[But more importantly, even if he'd love to talk for hours on end about volleyball or his best friend, this isn't Miyagi or Sendai and he's gotta know things.]
So let me get this straight, we can also breed these animals as well as train them in fights while we travel with them? And we can do pretty much whatever we want, is that right? Sounds like an interesting time.

That's right. People do like to come up with goals for themselves and follow those so they're not just...aimless here, but there's nothing saying you couldn't pick a town and just stay there.
[Not his cup of tea, but you can definitely Do That.]

[Including getting up to unsupervised mischief if he can get away with it without Iwaizumi around to yell at him for it.]
Sitting around in one town sure sounds boring if you're able to explore this place, not something I'd wanna do. I think I might try my hand at this trainer thing, doesn't seem too different than what I was doing back home.
[Except he was on a team of six people, not training monsters.]

[He won't admit it, but he definitely is competitive, wanting to beat his rivals any way he can within the rules. Two of them in particular he wants to defeat and rub it in their faces, too.]
What're these gyms like, mind telling me about them?
no subject
I don't mind!
[He's surprised someone else hasn't already, but it's probably more important for him to know how to like...survive in this world with the basics, first.]
Each region has eight gym leaders, and each gym is focused around a specific type of Pokemon. The first leader in Johto, Falkner, uses Flying Types for example, so his is the Flying Gym. If you can make it through all eight gyms and receive their respective gym badges, you'll be able to challenge the Elite Four, which is exactly what it sounds like: A group of the strongest four trainers in the whole region.
The big difference when going up against them, though...is that you have to face them all in a row with no breaks.
