[Closed] Girl, Put Your Records On, Tell Me Your Favorite Song
Who: Lance, Princess Allura, Rainer Michelle, Romelle, and Keith
Where: Cherrygrove City Spa
When: Sometime in early February
Summary: A few friends mourn a loss through self-care
Rating: PG to PG-13 (thanks, Lance), will warn as necessary
Hearing that Jaskier had been sent home was… quite a blow among the Voltrons. He’d been a good friend to all of them, especially to Shiro, and of course poor Geralt and Kiri were left behind… And honestly, Allura was starting to miss her friends back at the house, at least in person. Shiro and Pidge and Sasha chose to sit this out, but Allura decided to invite a few of her friends who knew Jaskier to do something in his memory, and Lance came up with the idea of a mini-spa retreat in Cherrygrove City. Mud baths, massages with hot stones and scrubs and aromatherapy, hair and nail salons, the works. And thanks to working part-time jobs almost the whole time she’s been here, especially in Violet City, Allura actually has quite a bit saved up to chip in for the small group to stay a full weekend. So kick back, chat over manicures and herb-infused drinks, and enjoy.

Mmmmmmmmm?
[Oh, she didn't believe that overreaction one bit.]
Come on. I've caught you looking~.
no subject
[Qqqqqqqqqquiznak.]
Fine. Fine. Possibly I have a small infatuation that won't go away. Happy?
no subject
There's nothing wrong with that. And even I've noticed that he's nice to admire.
[She settled back a bit in the chair.]
Besides, I think he's noticed you, too.
no subject
[She was halfway through a noise of protest that there it is NOT that simple and why is Romelle ogling Keith when--]
... I... has he?
[No, really, has he? N-not that she cares or anything, but... really?]
no subject
[Romelle leaned a little over so she could get closer to Allura.]
He's more attentive to you here than what I saw of him back home. Aaaand, a little nervous sometimes. There's definitely more of a, what is that word... 'vibe'. The Earthlings use that one a lot to describe a feeling they can't quite identify.
no subject
That's... not very specific. [She looks away, a bit disappointed.] Keith is shyer than he appears; I'm honestly surprised he agreed to come to the spa. And of course he'd be more attentive; we've been traveling together for a phoeb and a half now, and we're not in the middle of a war.
no subject
[Romelle shrugged.]
He does seems to smile more around you, and I rarely see that particular type smile on his face around anyone else.
[Just putting that out there... a special smile just for Allura... from someone who tended not to smile a lot... hmmm]
no subject
[Oh... that...]
Really? You think so?
no subject
Honestly, I think it's sweet that he's got a cute little smile just for you.
1/2
[Well... give her a few moments of blushing and grinning to process that. Huh... Maybe...]
2/2
[But then the smile becomes clearer and more... mischievous?]
And yourself?
no subject
What? She blinked.]
Me? What about me?
no subject
Well, you have been here a bit longer than I have... is there anyone here who's caught your eye?
no subject
[She did blush a little, but not because she was thinking of anyone.]
no subject
[That gets a chuckle out of the princess, but thankfully it's quick to soften.]
It's fine if you haven't. I was merely curious.
[... Okay, make that "curious, nosy, and maybe looking for a little light revenge."]
no subject
It wasn't something we thought of much on the colony. It had sort of become a luxury, in a way.
no subject
[Ah. Allura's face goes stony under the clay mask, and she's silent for a few seconds.]
Remind me to let you punch Lotor first if we ever see him again. That "luxury" should have been yours by right.
no subject
Well, after how you found out what happened with us, I certainly wasn't going to rob you of throwing him across the Castle's control room.
no subject
[A very regal snort.]
There is that to look forward to. [A soft, deep breath to center herself.] And at least you are free now.
[Even if Romelle paid so much more than she should have to gain it... Hopefully they'll be able to give that to the rest of their fellow Alteans, and soon.]
no subject
Yes. I am... [Though, yes... there'd been a cost. And the waiting to get back and help free the rest of their people from Honerva was frustrating... but she had to have faith. Faith that being here wasn't going to effect things back home, that getting back home would put them back where they'd been taken from, and that they weren't losing time to save the rest of the Alteans.
It was a lot to think about.
Romelle closed her eyes, taking a deep breath to settle her nerves.]
We can't do much about it from here... but we'll make it happen once we return home. We just need to be patient.
So, let's just enjoy this place for now, yes?
no subject
[A soft nod.]
Agreed. Apologies, I didn't mean to dampen the mood.
no subject
It's alright. Sometimes, it's hard to avoid those types of things. We just... can't let them rule us all the time.
[At least... she tried not to.]
no subject
Exactly.
[Although it's hard, not letting something that world-shattering and painful consume, like trying to escape a black hole. But she's grateful to have friends like Romelle, the Paladins, Coran, the mice, and the people they've met here, to give her a strong enough pull away.]
So, what has been your favorite treatment so far?
no subject
no subject
Oh, I know! Not to mention how harsh it is on the skin and hair. [Granted, she has funds for better products now, but that starter kit was not designed for a space princess with hip-length curls to travel in the woods for three days and nights.] The manicurists here are quite skilled as well.
