Testing...well, it looks like I have it right this time.

Paul Atreides had little trouble working his new PokéGear, but he nevertheless seems relieved that the video is up and running smoothly. Learning another world's technology always takes a little risk and a lpot of trial and error.]

So. This is Goldenrod. My friend and I were wondering where we could go to pick up some of the local flavor.

[Paul rather rushed New Bark Town, mostly because he was still a little disoriented by that strange woman who called him her son. He was happy to play the role in the house, but he was relieved to get out of there all the same.]

I suppose that depends on what kind of flavor you're interested in; Goldenrod is a fairly large city, after all.

I'm not particularly picky, so I was thinking a little of everything.

Tourism, maybe, since I'm a visitor - I'd like to see what the city has to offer on that front.

Well, aside from the gym, the city is rather famous for its shopping. It has a very large department store, as well as numerous others. There's the game corner if you enjoy games of chance, and I believe there are occasional sports events in the city as well, though I'm afraid I wouldn't know the schedule of that sort of thing.

Depending on what you are used to, it might be a little overwhelming, but no visit to Goldenrod is complete without visiting the department store. I don't think there is a single place that sells so many different things.

The department store is certainly a good idea - I need to restock on supplies for myself and my Pokémon. We're running a little short.

Thank you for the suggestion. I was thinking medicines, food, practical things for the most part, but I'm open to other ideas.

You should check out their TM collection. If I remember correctly, they'll be changing it in a few weeks, so this might be your last chance to get one of those TMs. Ah, assuming you have the money, of course. I know it can be difficult to save up enough money at the start of your journey.

Goldenrod's quite the hub, you've many options. The department store is always impressive and offers a bit of everything. Downtown has a worthwhile collection of cafes and bakeries.

I imagine it's the wrong time of year for the cart vendors in the parks - I used to live year-round in Goldenrod, but now I divide my time. Really my best advice would be to avoid the big chains and seek out local businesses.

Maybe a visit to the bakeries is a good idea, too. While I'm here I may as well get something to eat. Any particular suggestions?

There's a little hole in the wall called The Sly Ponyta Bakery. Ridiculous name, award winning baked goods.

And you're right about the department store, it's a staple of Goldenrod. I'd never seen anything quite like it, my first visit to the city.

You're in Goldenrod? I'm probably heading there myself soon. Do you see any motorcycles for sale? I'm told they have bicycles, which aren't really my thing. But I'll probably settle for that in a pinch.

Haven't seen any motorcycles - yet - though I know there is a bicycle shop. I was planning to pick one up once I've gotten a little more money through training. It would make travel much easier, though there's also something to be said for the old-fashioned way.

I'd personally suggest a bike of some kind if you have the money. The ones here are well-made.

Yeah, it looks like that's what I'll be doing. Maybe I can get one that looks a little edgy, at least. Or repaint it like that.
