Anyways, they suggested that as apparently my eyesight is actually, as they put it "astonishingly bad", that I try the glasses they prescribed for me outside for the first time and document my experience. So here I am. But they did allow me to choose my favorite color.

[ He presents the glasses to the screen, they're rectangular blue frame is very simple, and very boring. Just like him. He gently puts them on and looks around. It takes him a couple moments before he actually startles, a hand going to the frames as he takes them off, and puts them back on again a few times. ]

WHAT THE-

[ Anyone watching will get to see him go and touch some grass, and then run over to look at a few trees, and then his own pokemon before he returns to look at his Espurr. ]

Oh Breakfast. We're really in it now.

Oh... yeah, I've heard that can be sort of a shock when people first get glasses.

[So what he's getting here is that Byleth's vision is... very, very bad. Extra impressive, then, that he's functioned so well until now??

Grant glances over his shoulder, as if expecting there to be something much more interesting behind him.] What?

A shock is right. It's just so easy now- and my head hurts a bit less too.

[ No he's staring directly at you, Grant. ]

Man, that's right, that must've come with a lot of eye strain, too - you said a bit, though, does it still hurt?

[Hhhuh. Yep, that is... pretty direct. Grant frowns slightly, pink tinging his cheeks as he rubs at his jaw.] Speaking of, uh... seeing, is there something on my face? Other than the beard, I mean.

[Byleth... probably isn't staring at that exposed fang, right?]

Not right now, but the pain would come and go. I got so used to it I barely noticed until it was gone.

[ This man? No shame. ]

No. You're just very ruggedly handsome. I like your nose.

Boy, yeah - just background noise, right? Glad the glasses have helped out with it, all the same.

Really, though, sorry if it takes him a moment to respond, Byleth, he's just... got to be sure he heard that right - and once he's sure he did, that faint pink tint to his face flushes a few shades deeper.]

Oh! O-oh. Uh-- thank you, I-- th-thanks.

[It's not like he even just... you know, said something nice, he had to go and get specific. Jesus. Okay, Grant can't just keep repeating himself here.] You-- you look good, too.

[ He had wanted to pay him a compliment not murder him in cold blood. Reaching forward to touch the side of his arm. ]

I can see why Dimitri likes you so much. Outside of your kind, gentle demeanor of course.

No-- no, just, uh, not something I'm used to hearing. [He laughs nervously - and narrowly prevents himself from cutting it off too abruptly when Byleth touches his arm. Just, y'know, act normal and natural!!] But, uh, th-thank you. [Again.]

Oh, no, they don't - I-I think they suit you, honestly.

Oh? You should be told more often then. [ Translation: I will make a point to tell you more often. ]

Well thank you, I guess it certainly does lend to the whole "professor" thing, doesn't it?

[Oh god oh no he can guess what that means] I-I'm glad you think so. [That felt like a weird response but he doesn't know anymore.]

It does! It's a pretty good look. [It offsets how very young Byleth looks for a professor, at least for Grant, but he's... not saying that, it seems rude.]

It is only a matter of fact! [ It is a weird response but Byleth takes it in stride. He'd rather Grant not be made to feel awkward around him. Even if he kind of... projects awkwardness himself. ]

Thank you. I guess you could say I can look pretty good now, too.

[ Is... yes that's definitely a pun, but he delivers it completely straight. His expression doesn't change, but he does pause for effect... and then wink. ]
