So this is kinda super embarrassing, and I'm not thinking straight right now, but.

I'm sure some of you got to talk to Tonks the other day. Most of it was recorded, and I don't think any of it was that bad, but I apologize if he offended anyone.

If I don't just say this I'm gonna skirt around it forever. I'm sorry. This is kinda abrupt.

I started to feel off like, a couple of days ago? And I didn't think anything about it. But then it got worse. And then it got worser.

The doctor says I've got a real nasty case of Mono. Tonks swears up and down that he didn't kiss anybody, but I dunno. He must've swallowed a lot of spit for me to feel this bad.

That was probably too much. I'm sorry. I'm not thinking straight.

I need help with everything. All of it.

So you're new? That makes sense. It's nice to meet you!

I don't want to scare you or anything, but I've been here for about four and a half years.

Oh... Yeah, I've already talked to people who have spent years here.

[Truth be told, he still doesn't like being reminded of that possibility, though. However, there's something new about it coming up in this conversation.]

Is this the first time you've been so sick in that time? I mean, you don't seem very prepared for it.

I've always been really healthy. I was never sick enough to miss school or anything like that. So... Yeah, in 23 years, this is definitely the worst.

You must be smart about your health. I'm glad it mostly paid off, but don't feel badly that you got sick now. Even the most careful prevention of the spread of germs can fall through.

[There aren't many people who would see how getting sick could be considered a personal failing. Boober is one of the few.]

And of course, since it can go wrong, that means it eventually will, as you've found out.

There's a saying where I'm from, "idiots can't catch colds." I'd always kinda chalked it up to that, to be honest.

That's an awful saying! Cold viruses don't care how smart you are. They'll come for anyone.

I think the meaning of it was meant to be something like... It's often the people that don't think about disaster that avoid it the best.

That's a horrible way to think of things! It's untrue! Disaster is unavoidable, but the best thing you can do about that is prepare! You might be able to put off the inevitable that way, and it's certainly the only way anyone can be ready for when disaster does strike!

Actually, I think it's more like... People with dumb luck get out of stuff unfairly sometimes.

Well, unfortunately, I can tell you that is true.

Well, my real job where I'm from is doing laundry. But I suppose I have been doing more and more as a medic for the others, over time. It's not like anyone else takes the time to learn how to treat Pebble Pox or wrap a splint.

[So the answer is "all of the above," in other words.]

You know, if you've got any aspirations like that, you could really go after them here! I think that's the best thing about the Pokemon world. You can really go out there and be whatever you want!

Well, I guess this would be a better place to go for that than back home. Medicine seems to be so much further along here, after all.

I'll have to think about it.
