Hey. This is Kazuki.

So this is kinda super embarrassing, and I'm not thinking straight right now, but.

I'm sure some of you got to talk to Tonks the other day. Most of it was recorded, and I don't think any of it was that bad, but I apologize if he offended anyone.

If I don't just say this I'm gonna skirt around it forever. I'm sorry. This is kinda abrupt.

I started to feel off like, a couple of days ago? And I didn't think anything about it. But then it got worse. And then it got worser.

The doctor says I've got a real nasty case of Mono. Tonks swears up and down that he didn't kiss anybody, but I dunno. He must've swallowed a lot of spit for me to feel this bad.

That was probably too much. I'm sorry. I'm not thinking straight.

I need help with everything. All of it.

I'm sorry.

[Kazuki you are about to get a lesson in animal behavior, or at least that of carnivores from Legosi's world.]

Insects provide a vital source of ethically obtainable protein for carnivores. It's one of the few things that can be eaten in general company, beyond things like eggs or meat substitutes, like tofu and soy. I can't blame others for not really seeing insects as much more than that.

Is that so?

[He can only imagine what it is that Kazuki has realized, but...well. It's not hard to guess, given the context of their conversation.]

It isn't something I talk about much, so I can't blame you for not thinking about it. It's alright.

[They came from exactly where you think they did. Many chickens sell their own eggs and take quite a bit of pride in doing so, if you'd believe it.]

Perhaps I may have, if I came here at an earlier time in my life. But humans are different. Humans are lucky enough that they can choose freely what they eat, and they don't have to worry about hurting their fellow man to keep themselves alive.

It isn't as taboo as it once was to speak of but, back home...while most of us keep those urges at bay...there are plenty others who can't. Or don't. That's when acts of predation can occur if carnivores aren't able to satisfy themselves in other ways.

Hate is a strong word. You are always going to have a vocal minority, but for the most part...we all try our best to get along and live peacefully. Carnivores don't -want- to hurt Herbivores...and Herbivores don't want to live in fear. Sometimes the peace can be tenuous, but before I came here, we were starting to make strides towards a better understanding between all species.

So, really, it's better to look at things on a case-by-case basis. I've mentioned it before, but my girlfriend back home is a rabbit. An herbivore. Things can be complicated between us, but we're committed to making it work. I would do anything for Haru-chan, even if that means taking a more difficult route through life.

[Oh...if Legosi had a tail, it would have suddenly started wagging. Geeze, Kazuki...]

Ah...thank you. I've been through a lot back home...so I've done what I can to understand the viewpoints from all sides.

Honestly? Yes, I am.

I was very overwhelmed and unsure my first few months here. But now that I've been here for a while, and have met a lot of people and have been to so many places...it's a bit hard to imagine not having ever been here, if that makes sense?

I miss my home, but I don't regret my time here, either.

If that's what it is...well, I can't say I mind it that much. I've gone through my share of hardships of course, especially here, but it could always be much worse.
