Everybody, you need to watch this!
[Greg's voice sounds probably sounds unreasonably excited as he films Duck--the Kricketune he inherited from his son, Steven--striding out into the center of Greg and Rose's bed inside their traveling caravan, a miniature guitar strapped to his chest and star-shaped sunglasses on his face. He carries a tiny prop microphone.
And then Duck begins to sing.
It's a fairly familiar song from specific world and relative time period, one about blessing the rains down in Africa, and the little pokemon is thoroughly rocking out, the delelelele building up to a resounding WHOOP.
After the performance, you can hear Greg laughing, before he turns the camera around so it faces him.] Great, isn't it? He's already learned how to do a Christmas song by Mawile Carey! Does anyone have any requests for what he should try next?

Wha... That's so cool! You can teach Kricketune to sing different songs? [He's been on the look for a Kricketot himself since he likes the noises they make, but this is on a whole new level!] How long did it take for you to teach him to do that?

Oh wow, I didn't know Pokemon could learn songs. [A thoughtful pause.] Or grow mustaches, for that matter.

Such talent! He's going to be a superstar, I'm sure of it!
[Of course Rose would say the same of any of their Pokemon. But she's delighted by what Greg's done with the Kricketune. Duck isn't the only one who's talent she's praising.]

[She could just appreciate it on her own, but serotonin is best shared.]
[So she responds with a video of her own-- the tinny tones of Duck's glorious song blaring out of PokeGear speakers drown out just about any other audio, but the footage is of a Silphally-- horse-sized, somehow majestic and clumsy-looking at the same time, and absolutely tearing it up on
the dancefloora muddy backyard lawn.][There is a particularly rowdy-looking little Rockruff yapping and pouncing at its mismatched feet, but it's too lost in the sauce to care.]

That's awesome, dude! Hm, if we're going Classics then how about- [ The blond hums a line to get the tune right before beginning to sing: ]
♫ There's a port on a western bay and it serves a hundred ships a day; lonely sailors pass the time away and talk about their homes. And there's a girl in this harbor town and she works layin' whiskey down. They say, Brandy, fetch another round! She serves them whiskey and wine. The sailors say, "Brandy, you're a fine girl, what a good wife you would be. Yeah, your eyes could steal a sailor from the sea." ♫
[ About halfway through, her Pidgey perches onto her shoulder to chirp some of the notes and she stops because she's laughing. ] Flipflap, rude. You don't interrupt a performance!

[Radley is truly amazed and impressed. He wishes he could share it with Scotch, who would be absolutely starry-eyed and want the Pokemon to perform with him.
Eevee chirps in agreement.]

You like Bug-types, too, do you? And that's a talented one.
[Joltik makes some excited noises while Paul looks on. He seems as if he's thinking about what to say next.]
Unfortunately, mine don't sing...but I can, if you would like.

video;
[Still, he knows how hard music is, especially in one's particular chosen instrument of choice! For Pokemon, that just... happens to be themselves, sometimes.]
[So when Dimitri gets the video working, he promptly starts to clap.]
He's worked so hard! Even I can tell that much.
Do you think Led Drifblim would be too much for him to attempt...?

Hey Xylo, come check this out!
[A distinguished bug gentleman enters the frame, stroking his mustache with a long claw. He's not sure about all this hippity-hoppity pop music. He prefers the classics.]
Kricketune are amazing. Mine's really good at mimicking string instruments!
