Who: Louie Duck, Hawks, and Izuku Midoriya
Where: Wherever they run into one of those alpha Braviary (I'll update this)
When: March 11th
Summary: Hawks and two green boys help tackle the bird problem
Warnings: Nothing expected aside from Pokemon-typical peril; will add anything else that comes up

[Louie isn't the sort to rush into danger, and these crazed Braviary causing all the trouble are clearly dangerous. Normally, the teen wouldn't even be outdoors with those beasts around... Except, you know. That cash reward. It's nothing to sneeze at, and if there's one thing that can get Louie to steel himself and take a risk, it's money.

So, time for a detour in his warp tour back to Azalea Town. He's pleased to have teamed up with Izuku and Hawks for this... He wouldn't say he's close to either of them, though he does like them both well enough. But does that really matter here? What's important is they both strike him as competent, and he's got faith in them not to decide hey wait, it would actually be cool to own the Braviary. After all, if the rampaging Pokemon can't be turned in, there goes their pay. And in addition to a solid team of trainers, Louie's prepared what he feels is a solid team of Pokemon for this undertaking. Shilling will be thrilled to be in battle again, and Ha'penny and Moorshire should be a big help against the flying-type.

Yeah, Louie felt pretty prepared, but there's always something. He should know this! All adventures have their "wait, what?" followed by "Louie almost dies," which seems to be the phase right now: It's hard to start a Pokemon battle when you're not given a window of opportunity to throw a Pokeball, much less attack. That's how it's come to Louie scrambling to get into his pack as he is also running like his life depends on it. Does his life depend on it? He's not sure, but he certainly was. Now he's lost track of the Braviary and also the other two trainers, screaming as he makes a break for cover.]

[See, Louie, bringing heroes along on this outing was definitely a wise choice.

As the furious Braviary bears down on Louie, a dark streak in the sky abruptly cuts across its path, jolting it out of its forward dive with a well-placed - and super effective - Sucker Punch. This turns out to be Karaage the Honchkrow, with Hawks sitting astride her back, and the harsh caw she lets out as she flies past the momentarily stunned Braviary sounds quite self-satisfied.

Even a super effective hit from a very powerful Honchkrow isn't enough by itself to do more than make this giant Braviary very angry, though. Upon reorienting itself to figure out just what hit it - which Hawks seems to be deliberately inviting it to do, with Karaage lazily circling the other bird - it lets out a furious scream and starts making a beeline for Hawks and his pokémon instead. It seems to be closing in on them both, actually bringing its taloned feet forward as if to grab them out of the air, while Hawks and Karaage strangely take no evasive maneuvers...

...before the Honchkrow disappears in a blur of red light, and Hawks simply drops through empty air. Right onto, as it turns out, the back of the hastily called Rotisserie the Talonflame, who arrests Hawks' fall and starts flying almost as if this is some kind of maneuver they've practiced.

(They have. Hawks has spent an inordinate amount of time in the air with his pokémon ever since he had access to the ability to do so. And it had long ago occurred to him that, if only due to his activities within - and against - Team Rocket, he might be in personal danger in this world someday, so it'd be handy to have some tricks up his sleeve if people come after him personally and he doesn't have his quirk to rely on. Flight via his pokémon is the closest he can get. And, admittedly...his life's been so oddly peaceful in this world that taking some daredevil risks in the air training with his team has been refreshing.)

In this case, the change-up is entirely practical; he's not really trying to fight the Braviary here, not right this second. What he wants to do is fly rings around it, and none of his team are better suited to that than Rotisserie. Between a blistering top speed and a surprising amount of maneuverability at slower speeds, Hawks is confident he can keep ahead of it.

He brings his Gear up to his mouth, calling Izuku and using the device almost like a walkie-talkie, yelling over the wind as Rotisserie speeds away from the now even angrier Braviary as it gets over its momentary confusion about where its target went.]
Deku! I'll lead it past you two, so get ready for an assault! [Louie has, unexpectedly, set them up for what Hawks thinks may be a good game plan - drawing the bird's attention one way or the other, allowing for surprise attacks by the others while it's preoccupied. They can use their numbers against it. However big it might be, there's still only one of it, and it can't pursue all of them simultaneously.]

[OOC: Levels on my roster are not updated but Izuku has been training consistently so the levels of the Pokemon in this thread are roughly as listed]

[Thank God for Hawks and his birds.

If there's any hero that Izuku trusts to handle things in the air, it would be Hawks. Even without his Quirk at his disposal, he seems to have made sure that those drawbacks don't act as a handicap for him here in the way he's outfitted his team to compensate, similarly to how Izuku has more than a few hard hitting physical fighters of his own. Right now, though? His priority is two fold: make sure Louie is well guarded while also putting up a decent offense from ground-level while Hawks keeps the Braviary above occupied. That's why Izuku has San the Umbreon (100) and Rizadi the Krookodile (80) running paralell to him as he catches up with Louie, keeping his eyes to the sky to he doesn't lose Hawks' position in the process. The rest of his team members are waiting in their balls as backup, save for Mighty who remains as present as ever as a fixture clinging to Izuku's shoulder as he runs.

He'll grab his Gear from the side of his bag just as he hears Hawks coming through so he can respond.]

Right!

[He looks to Louie once he's caught up with him, gesturing with his free hand to get his Pokemon into position.]

Louie-kun, don't worry about Hawks getting in the way- [They can trust that he'll be able to dodge any potential stray attacks just fine.] -just have your Pokemon focus their attacks on the Braviary when it comes by us!

[Honestly, Hawks' high-flying antics as he loops and leads the Braviary while Izuku and Louie prepare have gone from the merely impressive, to the...well, still impressive, but mildly comical. That Hawks is supremely comfortable in the air is extremely obvious, and that he's clearly spent tons of time flying with his pokémon is equally so. His maneuverability on the back of his Talonflame is superb, with a few uses of Agility only adding to that. And with himself and Rotisserie being so much smaller than the Braviary, it's really not hard to outmaneuver it. With all the dodging and weaving and general frustrating of the Braviary's attempts to catch them, and how assured Hawks' flying is, the aerial pursuit honestly takes on a kind of Scooby-Doo chase scene vibe. It's not unlike watching a helicopter try to catch a hawk.

Still, its attacks seem to be getting faster, and Hawks doesn't keep it busy in the air for more than a minute before he decides that he's given Izuku and Louie enough set-up time. He does a sharp turn in the air towards them, flying on an intersecting path to pass directly in front of them. The Braviary, positively maddened by now, has no eyes for anything but Hawks and Rotisserie, and pays no attention to Louie and Izuku as it chases Hawks past them...at least, not until Louie's pokémon throw it off-course with some hard hits. Then, as it had with Hawks, it turns its maddened eyes on its attackers.

Of course, Hawks isn't content to merely act as a diversion. Rotisserie wheels around now that their pursuit is momentarily halted, and Hawks calls out Sesame the Toucannon. She sails closer to the Braviary with a harsh, bubbling cry, slamming it with a three-hit Rock Blast. Not the most powerful move in her repertoire, but at least it's super-effective; she and Hawks had used her Rock Blast to win the Zephyr Badge from Falkner, so naturally it's a go-to here against yet another bird.

It's still not enough to take the bird down, however, and Hawks yells to Izuku through the radio.]
Keep hitting it!

[By the time Hawks has brought the Braviary into range, Izuku is ready. He lets Louie take the lead in with his Pokemon first, choosing to take advantage of the time he has to try and get a bit closer. He's not afraid of being potentially too close, after all. Not close enough to be reckless (mostly), but as close as someone who does hero work daily would be expected to. He crouches, just for a moment, until it's clear to see what it is he's doing: he's allowing his Umbreon to jump up onto his back, using it as a platform to race across before making it to his shoulder, then his forarm all in one fluid, graceful motion. San uses his momentum to leap off Izuku's shoulders in a high enough arc that the Shadow Ball he attacks with has the highest chance of making a direct hit.

While Rizadi lacks offensive long-range moves, he has the bulk to withstand anything that bird should throw at them, should it decide to take the offense closer to the ground. That's why, for the time being, Izuku has him focus on status afflictions. Torment is a great way to buy time, forcing the Pokemon to break away from using the same hard-hitting attacks in a row, leaving it confused and scrambling for a different move while being heckled on all sides.]
