I have a question for people who've been here long enough to travel around or have been traveling, maybe something to think about after all the Braviary craziness we just had a week or so ago:

Is there anything here that reminds you of home? Forests, cities, beaches, anything. Even the food.

Ilex Forest reminds me a little of Miyagi, and the trees around Sendai. So do the buildings, they're a lot like the ones you'd see around Japan. A lot of the food too, now that I think about it.

[In not so many words, Tooru's homesick, but he refuses to admit to that. It's also why he's typing it out instead of enthusiastically choosing video or voice. Besides, he is just a bit curious about the other worlds after Corrin told him about Hoshido.]

Forests sure know how to remind us of home it seems.

[Armin takes a moment to private this conversation. Not because this is very personal to him -- it's a story he's told many times -- but because he doesn't want Mikasa to accidentally see this. She doesn't yet know about the fall of the Wall and he wants to keep it that way.]

You could say that, yes. There were the Titans outside of the Walls, and food shortages inside of them. And unfortunately, we learned a few years ago that the Walls were not as undefeatable as many had once thought.

[That swap to private has him arch a brow, but as soon as he reads, he can understand why, at least somewhat. It sure sounds unpleasant enough.]

That sounds like these... Titans made it through them, and are the dangers you're meaning.

They did. We were forced to abandon more than a third of our lands and retreat back behind Wall Rose. A fifth of our population died due to it.

[Not just in the attack itself, but also in that ridiculous mission to retake it -- a mission that was never meant to succeed, only thin out the remaining refugees.]

[Now that's just horrifying, and seems a touch too similar to things he learned in history classes, though not exactly the same.]

That sounds like you came from hell or an equivalent to it, I can see why this world would be preferable to where you came from.
