[The young man in the video feed is certainly Boober, if nothing else the way his hat and bangs obscure his eyes make that pretty obvious. The thing is, he's smiling, which those who have interacted with him before might know is not exactly typical.

But today he looks really excited. There's an equally-excited Rotom in Wash Form floating around behind Boober, and despite literally being a small washing machine at the moment, they're zipping back and forth so quickly that Boober's gesturing towards it keeps being off-time.]

I knew Nylon could go into different appliances and things, but I never would've guessed they could be a washing machine! Those are big for such a lil fella to control! [Nylon finally comes to a halt on the phrase "lil fella" at which point Boober scratches just beside their eye. Interacting with a pet that is also a washing machine is a little awkward, but Nylon's expression is one of delight, so hey! Whatever works, right?] Yeah! Apparently this makes them a water and electric type now, instead of ghost and electric. I'm not sure if that's better or worse for fighting, but look at them! Washing machines are the best thing I've seen in this place, and--

[Nylon gives a little "brzzt!" of protest, and Boober's sigh is impatient but also fond.]

I said best thing, you're not a thing. Well, maybe a little right now, but you know what I meant.

Ah, yes. I too am charmed by their myriad forms, so much so I undertook the league challenge with naught more than a team of Rotom.

[In fact, he's known as Rotom Man by the gym leaders...]

I am heartened to see there are others who appreciate and are fascinated by these capricious little spirits. They have nigh endless capabilities when it concerns electronics, though they have proven limited in what forms work for battle.

A whole team... Yes, there'd be just enough for that, huh? Five special forms that can fight and then the way it normally is. I've noticed that too, that they can't really battle as just anything.

[He laughs, and the sound is unusual-- A halting sort of laughter, as if the sound is rusty from underuse.]

Whenever we're staying at a hotel with a radio in the room, Nylon goes straight for that. They can't fight that way, but that's when we're safe and resting, so it's just nice that they enjoy it.

Indeed, it is a decently balanced team if you know how to manage its shortcomings.

[While Emet-Selch doesn't laugh himself, he offers a smile all the same, seemingly amused by Boober's own amusement. Or perhaps the uniqueness of that laugh? It's hard to know.]

I have found that they tend to have their favored electronics. One of mine own favors my Poké Gear, for example. Which has its benefits, so I cannot criticize the choice.

[As if to emphasize these benefits, he shows both of his hands, while the camera seems fixed and leveled with his face, as if someone else was holding the gear for him.]

I don't really battle much, but I can see where having all those different types on your team would come in handy, at least. And how clever of that lil guy, it really does seem like their preference can be handy.

[He realizes after the fact that he just sort of made a joke, and that gets another laugh much the same, albeit more brief this time.]

Actually, though, if Nylon didn't like radios so much, I don't think I would've found out how they actually work. And they're kind of good, you know?

[Radley laughs, charmed by Boober's excitement.]

That is pretty cool! Washing machines are amazing inventions.

They really are! Oh, don't get me wrong, there's nothing quite like getting out a washbin and doing laundry by hand. I'll never get sick of that! But still, washing machines are one of these electronic things that seems particularly useful. They certainly get laundry done more quickly!

You like doing laundry by hand? I have to do that with my leather clothes, but I wouldn't wanna do it with everything. To each their own, though. When there's not always modern conveniences on the road, it's good to enjoy doing things the old-fashioned way.

It can pay off to do it by hand even with other materials. Some stains are stubborn. But for the average kind of mess, a washing machine is a great thing.

Yeah, when it comes to stains, hand-washing is definitely the most surefire way to get it out. I luckily haven't had too much trouble with that. It's always a relief to get to a town and have access to washing machines again after traveling a while.

[So far, Riz has found himself agreeing with Boober on most things, but laundry? No, laundry is something Riz puts off until he can't anymore. It's not even that he super hates it, he just... gets caught up in doing everything else until suddenly he is out of underwear.]

[Boober's smile and overall cheer falters a little, because of course he sees this as a potential way for a friendship he values a great deal to come to an end. No matter how often his circle of pals back home make it clear that his being different doesn't mean their friendship with him is unwanted... Well, he's Boober Fraggle. He worries.

Still, though, there's a bit of a smile still there, and the pride in his voice is clear as well as he speaks.]

Yes, I do. It's my job back home, and something I'm very good at.

Huh. [Riz scratches his chin. It's really not something he gets, but then, most people don't get the stuff he is interested in either. It's not pleasant to be shut out socially because of your interests but luckily the Bad Kids have shown him that you don't need to share interests to still be friends.] I can't say I really get it, but at least now I know who to ask if I get some weird stuff on my shirts. I bet you are good at that.

[With a rusty little laugh, Boober's smile widens again. He appreciates Riz recognizing the value in his skills, even if the young man doesn't understand entirely.]

Of course. I'd be happy to help you with any major stains, Riz. Of course, that doesn't mean you should be careless with your clothing! Even the most delicate laundry procedures take their toll on clothes over time.

[Riz doesn't mean to be careless with his clothes, but also, he is a young adventurer and clothing just suffers when you have to adventure and fight lots of crazy things.]

I'll try. But hey, I've gotten pretty okay at sewing up tears. [Not everybody can just cast a mending charm, after all. Some of us gotta do it by hand!] And I know how to get blood and mud out.

[Boober doesn't really react to the casual mention of blood, but only because he doesn't quite understand what Riz did back home in depth yet. The adventurer he knows, Gobo, approaches the term quite a bit differently, but still has blood-stained clothes at times. Scrapes and stumbles happen-- Not to mention sports injuries, in Gobo's case.]

Well, that's a good start, yes. But some of the Pokemon here can make very unique messes with their attacks. Or just by existing! [He shudders.] Have you seen a Grimer yet? Oh, they're awful.

Oh yeah, I had one of those for a bit. It was supposed to be special cause it had a different colour, but really, it just looked like a moving pile of snot. I traded it away to get Tufsa.

Eugh, good idea to trade it away. [A shudder.] Which kind is Tufsa?

A Nincada. They are super cool. They split into two separate pokemon when they evolve.

Wow, really? That's pretty interesting, do you know why they can do that?

No idea. It's-- they are a kind of bug, right? So one pokemon you get is just... the bug that's turned into a bigger bug. And then you also get the old shell which becomes sort of like a zombie bug? It's super cool, but I don't know why these bugs do it but it doesn't happen with other bug pokemon.

Oh... So it's like if when Silk evolved, the Spewpa cocoon-ish part had stayed behind as a new Pokemon. That's pretty interesting, but then, bugs are! Interesting, I mean.
