Fourth Paper Crane [Action/Video]
[Somewhere outside of Cherrygrove, Hanna seems to be in the middle of a Pokemon battle. His Inkay seem to be listening fairly well to him today, but if you look closely, he's wearing his "Inkay shirt" which is covered in ink stains from various pranks and retaliation for apparent slights from the little pokemon.] Steven, use Topsy Turvy!
[He calls, which isn't a move he uses all that often, but against a Metapod who's been using harden every chance it gets? Well. It's worth it. Except as soon as Steven Squidberg flips upside down he starts to glow.]
What the fu- [Having never experienced evolution first hand, Hanna isn't sure what to do until he realizes what's happening and pulls out his pokegear frantically, trying to get it to the pokedex setting. He's got a bad feeling about this. The glowing subsides and in Inkay's place is a large, terrifying tentacle monster that looks pure evil. Hanna swallows and lets the pokedex do it's thing.]
Malamar, the Overturning Pokemon. It wields the most compelling hypnotic powers of any Pokémon, and it forces others to do whatever it wants. Luring prey close with hypnotic motions it then wraps its tentacles around it before finishing it off with digestive fluids.
[Hanna's newly evolved Steven turns as his pokedex spouts out the disturbing information, winking at him and then wiggling it's tentacles at him enticingly. To which Hanna might have screamed and immediately called Steven back into his pokeball.]
[Video]
[Hanna is wide eyed, afraid, unsure of the monster tucked inside it's little ball on his belt. He whispers, just in case it can hear him plotting against it, just in case it doesn't hypnotize him through the barrier of the pokeball and get him to release it.]
Have pokemon ever killed anyone, like. People. Because I'm pretty sure that i've got one that's pure evil. And I think it wants to eat me. Like legit rip me to pieces with its, uh. tentacles.

Never happened as long as I've been here, so I wouldn't worry too much.
[video]
I don't fucking know.
[video]
Oh, trust me, I know how that feels. My starter was out to get me from day one and she hasn't managed to make me Game Over yet. You just gotta show 'em who's boss.
[video]
Do you even know what a Malamar looks like? Straight up tentacle porn monster. And! And! It's apparently got freaky hypnotizing powers and I don't think I want to do it's evil bidding!

Krieg's got his face uncomfortably (for other people) close to the camera of his gear, as he leans in to ask the really important questions:]
How many tentacles?
[Why is that the important question? No one knows. Well, except for Krieg, but it's not likely he'll bother to explain why.]
[video]
[How many tentacles to squid pokemon have?] It's got like. Scythe-y arms. I think those are also tentacles, but I haven't really looked all that close.
[video]
Aim for the tentacles, avoid the acid, and stir-fry the rest!
[That is the world's worst advice, Krieg, come on.]
Why's it wanna eat you?
[video]
[Jesus christ, he didn't think he'd seen that in a move list...]
Uh...I don't think I want to kill and eat my pokemon...um. It's psychic and I think it hates me, so i'm kind of freaking out. It gave me the evil eye and everything.

video;
Without blades, your best bet for defense is your environment. I've no clue if these beasts have murdered, but I would not put it past them.
If you can put distance 'tween you and the beast, you may be able to call on others for defense.
video;
Do you think it can force it's way out or hypnotize me through it?
[This guy is super serious and it kind of fuels Hanna's fear a little more.]
video;
[ His Espurr gives a sleepy wave. ]
I apologize for not knowing more-- but these objects would not allow danger to us, would they?
video;
[He stares down at his belt where Steven Squidberg waits.]
Someone said if I gave him a hug he might not be so...evil scary. You ever heard of that working?

[also, if you want to trade away your terrifying hell beast and save him the trouble of finding one of his own, he'll definitely take it off your hands.]
video
And it's a Malamar? Like, giant psychic squid. It's got these creepy glaring eyes. And loads of tentacles. I'm...thinking I might try and make friends but I gotta wait it out. I'd rather not do it alone, yanno?
[video]
[tarrlok if it'd been a human and not some kinda animal you'd tell him to resort to drastic measures.]
[video]
Though it is a bit of a bummer since that means I'll have to put training off for a while. [He's at least more calm than he was from the start, more annoyed and concerned than anything now. He's pretty sure pokemon don't kill people at least.]
[video]
I'm... sure you can at least work with the ones that aren't an issue...?
[video]
[In any case, it'd be nice to make a new friend...Even if this guy seemed to be a little older. Perhaps the forties range? But it'd be nice to hang with some more adults. There were quite a few teenagers hanging around. Being a twenty and some change dude sometimes made him feel a little creepy with all those sixteen year olds hanging round.] And yeah? I mean, I've just got the three though. I thought I was almost ready to take on the gym in Violet city but if it's just Amelia, maybe not. Tyra's only level thirteen right now...she only hatched a month ago.

[A pause.]
I guess tentacles are probably worse than small poison rabbit-things, though. Do you have a Pokemon that's strong against it? If worse comes to worse, you can probably fight it off that way.
[video]
I at least have hope that my Malamar isn't like, interested in using those tentacles to do anything like, gross? But. Not really? Amelia has no type advantages that I'm aware of, but she is</i. stronger than him I think. She's just...smaller. And I don't want either of them to get hurt. I mean, Steven is a jerk to me but he doesn't play pranks on her at least. I wouldn't want to ruin that.
[video]
And I think when it comes down to it you need to think about what risks you are willing to take. If they get hurt, you can always bring them to a Nurse Joy, but if you get hurt... that's a little harder to fix. And I am sure Amelia would feel the same way!
[video] Oh god, sorry about my html fail
[Hanna is willing to take a lot of risks, but it is true that he would feel bad if Amelia was left behind or he couldn't help her if something happened. The same with Tyra. He wouldn't want to leave his other pokemon at the mercy of Steven if something bad happened.] I'd rather not see them get too hurt. Like, pokemon battles are okay, they enjoy them, but there is that 'too far' aspect of it that bothers me, and I'm not okay with that happening... Though I guess if I got hurt, I couldn't call them back to protect them from that either. Or if she would even let me in that case. Amelia's pretty protective when I do stupid shit.
[video] haha no worries
[Video]
[HEATHER HEARS 'TENTACLES' AND 'PURE EVIL' AND SHE THINKS 'TANGROWTH'.]
[Video]
I feel bad, like. He changed because he wanted to, but I miss him being small.
[Video]
[She hasn't ever actually seen one of those, but-- okay, well she'll take his word for it.]
Well, I mean, Pokemon USUALLY don't go through a dramatic personality change just because they evolved. So I mean... if it was perfectly fine before...
