Hi. So. I'm Hunk. And I need help figuring out how to wake up. [Yup, he's going to be one of those people, utterly convinced that this is some flashback to school days dream except that it's an open woods adventure and he's not yet looked down to discover his pants missing. Which, believe him, he's been checking.]
[He's holding a little Nidoran under around her midsection and she's just kind of ragdolling in his arms rather than causing any sort of disruption, content to be carried.]
I left this one lady's house. And I mean, she seemed really nice. I think she's my new dream mom or something? And I traveled a while and just tried to enjoy it. Anyway, I need to wake up because this dream is a little too real and I really don't want it turning into a nightmare on me. It's fine so far, but, you know. Never know what that curry I had yesterday ['real world' yesterday] will do to me.
[He's obviously already made it to Cherrygrove, there is ocean backdrop happening, so he's been walking for a few days. He just wrote it all off as dream time. It's now starting to be a concern.]

By the way, there's a pretty nice diner over by the water. The seafood's great, if you get hungry while waiting.
Yeah, I can actually jump us to it!
[And he'll be there when Oikawa shows up, mulling over his salmon donburi, talking to Shay. He's at least made some progress in that short while, having acquired a single Magikarp... but that was by fishing, not by fighting. It's flopping happily in a deep puddle while he sits at an outdoor table. The ocean is within flopping distance? But nah. Puddle time.]
This is the best use of dill weed I've tried since Oahu [he's saying to Shay, who is acting like she's deeply engrossed in his analysis while she munches a piece of Nori like a rabbit.]

[Immediately cutting the feed, Tooru gets some stuff ready, buys some extra great balls (10) for Hunk, and a TM for Dig after looking up what Nidoran can learn before setting off.
Once he arrives at the place Hunk sent him the address of, he wanders over with a wave, Leafeon at his side to let her stretch her legs.]
Oahu huh, that's one of the Hawaiian islands. Anyway, Hunk, right?

[He is going to have to remember who around here is from some familiarish 'Earths'. He uses one of his pokeballs to pick up his new (currently nameless) Magikarp, who might end up just 'fishy' at this rate.]
I guess Shay here is up for anything. She's pretty easy going. Er... what is it you used to do before coming here?

[Tooru is both glad that more people are from an Earth similar, but also going to need to keep a note of what kind of Earths people are from since while similar, there are many different versions it's seemed.]
Pokémon are usually up for a lot of things. I got a few things that'll help you out, though.
Volleyball. I played on my high school's team as it's captain and setter.

Magikarp huh? It'll grow into something strong, I'd show you mine but I don't have him on hand at the moment.
[Instead, he grabs for his gear to pull up a picture he took of the Gyarados he has after a battle. A bit tired but he sure is one proud looking sea serpent.]

You know what, considering what I've seen about Quintessence, I should just accept it as a thing that happens. How are those not everywhere?
[But, oh right, volleyball.]
Nah, just casually. It's a pretty popular sport in both Samoa and Hawaii. But that was before I had any military training so I wasn't nearly fast enough to be any good at it.
[He's gotten a lot better at speed and strength, even if he still has a belly you can drum on. He's just also got arms more like his dad's now.]

Honestly I don't know myself, but the simple answer is that it's just Like That in this world. You'll see even weirder things happen, trust me.
[He's not even going to question quintessence, at least not yet. Volleyball is still a topic.]
Ah so just recreational then, still fun to do. If you're ever interested in playing again, my partner and I still play a bit when we're not training, so I don't think he'd mind another person to practice with.

[He's absolutely down for, you know, just some normal fun! Not repairing the entire world. Not trying to reassemble the battered remains of a warfront he used to call home. Somewhere intact and not that different from what he used to know.]
Speaking of which how do you best use the pokeballs? I caught the Magikarp with a fishing pole I borrowed and kind of stumbled through the whole process.
