Open Observation Log
Who: Harry and whoever comes across him
Where: Stonetooth Row in the Coronet Highlands
When: July 25 (forward dated)
Summary: Observing the Bronzor in its natural habitat
Rating: PG
Log:
Harry has been in Hisui for a week so far and it has been mostly uneventful besides getting chased by angry wild Pokémon while doing mushroom, leek, and firewood gathering. Nevertheless, he and Lily (his Rowlet) manage to slowly grow together as a team and they are able to make some new friends along: by friends, they mean an Eevee who wasn’t afraid of Harry despite being too close while he was foraging for mushrooms at Obsidian Fieldlands and a ‘too curious for his own good’ Hisuian Growlithe he met while he was observing coastal Pokémon at Cobalt Coastlands and accidentally brought along with him back to base camp.
Then reports of a strange Pokémon called Bronzor begin to pop up that the Gingko Guild decided to assign him a mission to observe them at Coronet Highlands’ Stonetooth Row. Harry does have experience with magical creatures back at home, so he is not afraid to get as close as he could to see them, but he never expects to play Newt Scamander to the Bronzor until now. But hey, he gets to do something really important for base camp. So he, Lily, Violet the Eevee, and Godric the Hisuian Growlithe take the journey to Stonetooth Row and begin their quest of looking into the Bronzor’s behavior. Carefully taking his small team to a nearby bush in order not to scare off the mirror looking Pokémon, Harry settles down and begins to jot down anything he can see and find with them.
For every observation he can find, he carefully writes it down on his notebook with Lily taking to the tree tops and the sky to check on the Bronzor who are out of his sight and relaying what she has seen from her side. Violet is currently napping beside him, and Godric, well, he is too busy chasing his tail to amuse himself. Lily returns from her third flight scan of the Bronzor, hooting in what she is able to see.
“Ah, I see. The Bronzor have a plant on their back, I wonder what they are for in the first place,” he gladly takes note as he writes that down.

Coming to Hisui has been a 'return to basics' of sorts, even if it's come with far more violent and territorial pokemon.
The Stonetooth Rows, at any rate, are exactly the kind of place that tends to attract Emporio, as morbid as perhaps it could sound. The 'stonetooths' (stone teeth?) along the descending path look all too much like gravestones when he inspects them, and suffice to say he was far from surprised when, upon tucking into his hidden shelter among the rocks and bushes the evening before, he was faced with a swarm of ghosts. Including an Alpha, so he rather wisely stayed inside as long as possible.
...
Of course, now, 'as long as possible' has brought him well into the day, and what pokemon would typically get themselves settled in the area are...well on their way to doing that.
There's. A lot of bronzor out there. ...He's not really sure if he wants to draw their attention.
...
This is bad.
(If Harry doesn't spot a head of blond dressed in violet, then hopefully Lily will- not that he's in trouble Yet, but he's gonna be if too many of those fighty little mirrors spot him.)

As he tries to sneak around a little closer to see more Bronzor behavior, he could see a younger person with blond hair entering the Stonetooth Row. He seems to be surprised by the amount of Bronzor present so he decides to help.
“Hey, you might want to be careful with making loud sounds right now. These Bronzor can get scared off easily and float away; they don’t normally see this many people going in here,” he tries to inform him with the softest voice as he could muster.
Apologies for the delay- I was away from a keyboard all of the last week :[
He has maybe one way forward that won't be full of floating mirrors.
"Ahhhh... ...I didn't realize it was daytime..." Whatever that has to do with this. "Do you have a good way forward..?"
No worries
Lily quickly flies towards Emporio, showing him the path that her Trainer has taken in entering the row without disturbing the Bronzor. She calmly hoots at him as she points at the path with one of her wings. Don’t worry, Emporio: she will protect you while showing you a way around to avoid the Bronzor.

He looks around at the bronzor, and then at Lily. Right, right- escape now, talk later! Or at least talk more later! Even as he quietly crouch walks along to avoid their attention, he whispers.
"I'm glad you're here- I have pokemon, but Bronzor are steel type, so no one I have is a really good match...and they're a lot more aggressive here I noticed too..."

“Luckily I was able to get a Growlithe with me before this trip. He is part fire type, so he could be able to scare them off if needed,” Harry tells him quietly as not to make more noises, “I can agree with you on that. These Bronzor seem like that they don’t like being disturbed and would prefer being left alone most of the time.”
“Growl, Growlithe!” Godric playfully barks as he continues to chase his tail around.

He's not letting out his own pokemon quite yet- not until they're properly out of range of these bronzor anyway. They just wouldn't help much sadly.

Harry is still amazed by how these Bronzor are able to do anything despite looking like floating mirror with no limbs to speak. If he can make a guess, he would definitely think that it is magic at work if the herb symbol is of any indication.

Really, there's probably no need to worry. Harry handled magical creatures back home, right? They'd talked about that. This probably wouldn't be much different. But Radley is hurting more and more the longer they're stuck here, and the mysterious disappearance of Levi has been a knife through his heart. So he's coming anyway. He'll go back down if he's really not needed.
Finally Lily spots the team and points, her ears twitching. Radley pets her and goes over. He speaks in a whisper, definitely not wanting to ruin the mission or startle the Bronzor.]
Hi. Anything interesting happening?
no subject
Quite a lot so far. These creatures float around through a mystical power that os hard to describe. Maybe it is why they are drawn to the electromagnetic field in this area. But I am very intrigued by the herb or plant symbol on its back.
no subject
[He's confused by the symbol thing too. He hadn't heard about them having that. It seems very odd for this type of Pokemon to have that kind of symbol.]

no subject
That's logical.... They'd be really dangerous to touch if they're electrically charged....
[Lily isn't sure why he's distressed, but she gets on his lap and rubs him. He holds her close.]
no subject
But the weirdest behaviour I noticed in them is when I tried to prove a local rumour that if you can polish a Bronzor, its surface will reflect the truth. I almost got attacked by one while attempting to do so: it turns out that this species really hates getting polished like that.
(Could this explain why they tend to stay away from people most of the time? Being so meddlesome in the ways of the Bronzor?)
They also appear to be a frequent sight in the area regardless of the weather: it was very chilly earlier in the morning when I first came here and they are still here even after it changes into a more sunny weather.
no subject
[Well, he doubts most species would like being rubbed all over their faces, so to speak....]
They probably get hot to the touch in the sun....

(Note to self: Be more careful when handling/dealing with isolated Steel types who hates getting shiny for curiosity sake.)

At least he's keeping his voice down, but it doesn't seem impossible that he is trying to startle Harry.
no subject
Yep, nothing weird with a floating mirror like creature with yellow eyes staring blankly at anything.
no subject
He's quick to recover from the disappointment, actually looking out at the creatures the boy indicates.
"It is strange that creatures seemingly made of metal would have something growing in them."
no subject
Is also it part Psychic or part Electric type? That is the question he is hoping to know soon.
no subject
There's a low whine from behind Loki, and when he shifts to look at the white and red Zoroark behind him.
"You're a special case, Vakker," Loki says, patting the pokemon's muzzle affectionately.
no subject
“Oh yes, thank you so much, sir. They will get Psychic as a second type. I haven’t seen them doing any Electric moves so far, so it is safe to say that the Bronzor are both Steel and Psychic types,” Harry thanks the other man who is currently dotting on Vakker.
“Hey, your Pokémon looks pretty amazing! Is he you starter Pokémon?”
