wet but happy
Who: Minfilia and you~
Where: New Bark Town - on the edge of Route 29.
When: Returnin' home!
Summary: Minfilia has returned home. And had a religious event.
Rating: Nothing bad, but likely FFXIV Spoilers.
Log:
Hear. Feel. Think.
Even if that was not what Arceus said, Minfilia was repeating those words, over and over, as she lay on the fresh grass. Her eyes staring upwards, as the rain fell down upon her. Both fear and bliss filled her. She had stumbled outside in a stupor, shuddering a little.
"That was the god of this star."
Minfilia finally said, in awe. To anybody who might be passing by. Others who witnessed them.
She was getting soaked, but she didn't mind. She was quiet and eventually spoke again. Thoughts heavy, words heavier.
"They see this as our home...?"
As Minfilia babbled to herself, her Feraligatr stands over her protectively. And... scarily. Pachirisu comfortable on her chest, as it rose slowly.

But he was nearby, but kept some distance. Feraligatr made for a very intimidating sight. The truth is, he went outside in part because he'd seen someone else go out, and had been concerned for her. Sure, he was just some teenaged kid and a stranger at that, but all the same his instinct was to take care of others and keep them safe. Especially from their own bad ideas, like going out in the rain.
Although he himself was sort of happy to be out in that. Water was always good to a Fraggle, and you don't get rain underground. At the woman's second question, Boober was even less sure how to respond. He shrugged rather helplessly.
"We should go back inside for now. We'll catch colds."
no subject
Quietly, she sat up. "I suppose we should. Ah... are you newly arrived?"
no subject
"Yeah. I mean..." He offers her his hand, just in case she needs help getting up. He's short and not very strong, but he's polite. "...Pretty much. It's been a week, but- I don't know. Apparently I was here before?"
no subject
"...I've heard of such. That we may appear, and then-- we forget." It was said a little sadly.
no subject
A soft and rather humorless chuckle, as he added, "Lying on the ground was kind of what I felt like doing when I found out. I'm... I'm guessing that's not what's going on with you, though. What's up?"

"Is it such a big thing?"
no subject
"Where I come from, a... Goddess of the land oft spoke to me, due to my abilities. But in recent times, she had been quiet. It reminded me of the fear I feel that She is angry or upset at me."

He could think of a few, really. None of them were happy, but he knew better than to get into that.

He paused when he drew close enough to hear what she was saying. He had been so shaken and confused by what had happened, and so afraid they weren't going to get home after all, that he hadn't fully stopped to think about the impact of actually meeting a god. He had never been fully sure if Arceus was a god or just a superpowered being, but ... considering all the damage caused, it did seem like something only a god could fix.
That was a lot to wrap his mind around. It was so different from what he had been taught. But ... it did make sense that each planet would have gods....
"... I guess it is home," he said at last. "I kept thinking of Johto as home, back there.... I have two homes now."
His Pokemon snuggled him.

Knowing they'd need backup against what might be blocking a way home is a little concerning.
But they do make their way off the roof eventually, and find Minfillia spread out in the grass in due course. G'rhyf blinks down at her a few times, slowly processing everything, then dig into their bag for a jacket to just. Sort of lay over her. Don't want her to catch cold.
no subject
"It's not the same, is it?"
She did not say same to what, but it was clear what she was asking. Hydaelyn. Arceus. She had never been in front of Hydaelyn, not like the Warrior of Light.
no subject
"They have a similar...presence, I suppose. But She is much warmer in my experience." Just barely caught themself from saying 'was' there. Close... "Come on, we should find a bit of shelter to wait out the worst of this rain. Maybe one less crowded as well..."
Minfilia doesn't look to be in a state to bear a crowd right now.
no subject
"I hope that Arceus is not too mad at us. They held strength..."
They could strike them down, Minfilia thought. "But they-- I'm rambling."
She's trying to keep her feelings to herself, darn it!
no subject
"Ramble if you need. If anyone can understand how nerve-wracking facing a god down is, it's a Warrior of Light, eh?" Their grin is weaker than they'd like, but making light won't help that much right now anyway. "You deserve someone to lean upon as well, you know."
no subject
"...I imagine Primal were more frightening," she said. Burying those feelings again. But she couldn't help but let them out. "Besides. We did not need to fight."
no subject
The last is said as a grumble, and G'rhyf casts a brief glare about for where Cara Liss might have gotten to.
no subject
...was that not why so many conflicts happened? Minfilia gave a huff. "I know it will not be easy, even if we wanted to, to show that we were not at fault. And it is not our place to punish the one who caused this."
no subject
"And we did help her put the thing back together, in all fairness..." A sigh, and G'rhyf pulls Minfilia a little tighter against them for a moment, silent reassurance. "At the very least, we can work to prove we would rather prevent such messes in the future, right?"
no subject
"I...suppose in a way it is," Fluttershy said, though a bit uncertainly. "I guess this place would be more of our home compared to the place we just were."
no subject
But she paused, before giving a smile from her position. "I must admit, even if I am still uncertain of it, I missed many of the machines from this land."
no subject
At least she likes to think so.
"Me too. And I'm glad that our Pokemon here have been taken care of while we were gone."
no subject
What a. Morbid thought. Yet... Pokemon, yes. "I shall need to apologize to the innkeeps of Azalea when I next visit there. I may never know what my Pokemon did without me. I... am glad that it did not seem that we had gone home."

...Oh, um, yes. That was Arceus, I think. Definitely vaguely llama-shaped enough.
[She's just so fucking exhausted with relief at being in a place she recognizes as having, you know, running water and easily accessible hot food.]
no subject
[ Well, she hadn't seen Hydaelyn. Not for a long time - her memories of such felt strange. But she gave a friendly little wave from her pile. ]
Do you think... Mom would let us wash up before we set out again?
no subject
[Commandeer the showers of New Bark Town - no, don't do that, but seriously, everyone is going to want that bathroom.]
Arceus is definitely the first actual god sort of thing I've gotten to see. I guess? If...ugh, I don't want to think too hard about it.
[
does god tier count as a god, dirk would say it does]
