140th moon [video]
Applin evolves into Flapple when exposed to a Tart Apple, and into Appletun when exposed to a Sweet Apple. That's simple enough.
[You know what's a good place for a video transmission? The produce section of Celadon's most overpriced grocery store. Who cares if anyone else is trying to access the watermelons? Some questions need immediate answers.]
But does that still apply if they are cut in pieces, or blended into a smoothie? And what if you bake an apple pie using both types at once? Would the effects cancel each other out, or would the apple that most influences the taste win?
[A man's arm enters the camera's field of view, presumably to grab something off the display Cecil is blocking. Without paying much attention, he moves just enough to allow it through, without actually moving out of the way.]
There's the matter of Alcremie's sweets, too. They could easily be melted in a pan, then mixed together. Would a Milcery holding the resulting confection be able to evolve? Surely someone has tested it before.
[Barely visible over his shoulder, a Sneasler rolls her eyes. She traveled through time to listen to that?]

Edible supplements for evolution...methods of combination, what is effect on Pokemon?
[Mumble mumble some further notes jotted down as he thinks that through.]
...It's a fascinating hypothesis, but would you not need the agreement of the Pokemon in question before you tried such methods? They are the ones who would be most altered should evolution take place, after all.

[Along with unethical, but Cecil's childhood education cared more about rudeness.]
After all, it is very much possible that a future Appletun would not want to consume apple pie, considering their resemblance.
Mm, agreed. It might be a touch awkward to consume something and then strongly resemble what you ate. While that may be an old adage, I highly doubt anyone quite wants to actually experience it literally.

[Or maybe they're fine with other Sableye eating gems off their body, but that's not a theory he wants to test.]
Meanwhile, an Appletun would not only have taken on the qualities of its meal, but also be aware that people and Pokémon in the vicinity often find that form delicious. That... may be somewhat stressful.

[He doesn't know either species enough to tell if that also applies to their movesets.]
To think that the simple taste of an apple would be enough to cause such a difference...

[In fact as he says it, G'raha's putting more notes down. This is cool to think about, okay?]
[Possibly? Potentially. He thinks.]

...Or perhaps not. It could well be possible in the world of the gods, but it is a terribly unstable place, forever endangered. This land deserves to keep its stability.
