Third Spell (text; Welcome to Olivine City)

(Harry has posted this text message on the network a few days after he has arrived at Olivine City. Why he decided to wait for this long to make an announcement post in the city’s Pokémon Center? He just wants to get settled in at Olivine first before he can move into the Femblemtroika compound Hermione has told him a month ago and hopefully get ready for the gym battles soon.)

Wow! I still can’t believe it but I was able to make it to Olivine City after spending most of the time on the routes. I must have been walking around for months since I left New Bark Town to evolve two of my main Pokémon, but at least least me and my team are safe and we are getting settled in Olivine for a good long time.

In the meantime, I might consider doing the gym battles by early next year so I can have the time to get an idea of what works for me and my team and improve my Trainer capabilities while I’m here.

It's really nice, and rustic honestly. The lake freezes over in the winter, so you can actually go ice fishing, and walk right across it- but the cabin I got from Jolyne is really cool...it's actually on the water, floating! When the ice thaws, you have to take a small paddle boat to get there, or surf with a Pokemon. And then in the summer, when the lake recedes more, the house lowers on stilts all the way to the bank's ground.

It was really cool to see.

I guess for people who aren't fans of winter at all though...it's probably a bit much still.

Wow, that sounds a lot like fun to stay at. It must very generous for her to give you a place to stay in when not travelling around Jotho. I haven’t been ice fishing before, but maybe one day I could give it a try.

It'd be fishing to catch pokemon up there, but it would still be fun at least.

I never went fishing before in my life back in my world. Come to think of it, I might want to try fishing for Pokémon someday. That would be a lot of fun in the summer.

Same, in my case! I was able to try it one summer while here- it was a fishing contest for Magikarp. They came in all kinds of strange patterns, and we were told if they evolved, they might not keep those patterns...

Oh wow, there are Magikarp that comes in different patterns. That’s pretty brilliant. I never heard of Magikarp having that trait before.

Colors too. If you find a gold one though, that's probably a 'shiny' magikarp- if it evolves, it'll be a red gyarados.

A red Gyarados evolving from a Shiny golden Magikarp? That is an interesting sight to behold. I haven’t seen this many Gyarados in my travels just yet, but I might want to see that someday after the winter lightens up.

Technically the red one is shiny too; shiny is a term for uniquely colored, rare pokemon. Every pokemon has a shiny equivalent somewhere.

I think there's a locally protected one at the Lake of Rage you might catch sight of though!

Oh wow! I never encountered a shiny Pokémon in the wild before, but I might try to see one eventually. That would be an interesting sight behold.

Wait, there is a locally protected Gyarados at the Lake of Rage? Fascinating specimen, isn’t it? I’m guessing that no one is allowed to catch this particular Gyarados while at the Lake at all times.

I hope so too. I could see why plenty of people want shinies a lot: rare and also pretty unique too.

Maybe I can find one around the area of Olivine and/or even the beachfront. The city is near water after all, so might as well try to look around.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that he doesn’t want anybody to disturb him as well.

(Little did he know that he would eventually get a shiny of his own. It is just that said shiny would be the one who find him, not the other way around.)

It's always worth trying.

Definitely try looking around at night too- there's a lot of nocturnal species.

Whoa, is that possible? Sounds like a great idea. I might want to give it a try again. I was able to get a Houndoom during night around a month ago.

I think houndoom are nocturnal, so that's a good example-! I have to be more careful looking for pokemon myself...I already have so many, I don't want to neglect anyone.

You got plenty of nocturnal Pokémon in your team so far? That is very intriguing.

I do noticed that I have some sort of a trend of Pokémon actually wanting to join me than wanting to battle my team first. Which is very bizarre to go through but not too uncommon at all.

I want to think they're probably nocturnal under normal circumstances, but a lot of them are just ghost types in general...

I tend to find them really easy.

Ah, okay. It seems like that these ghost type Pokémon like to find and hang around people they like to follow. I already got that with Rowan once he evolved into a Decidudye and Minerva who is a Misdreavus.

Sometimes I wonder if they're often lonely?

A lot of them like to play tricks, but they seem a lot less prone to hurting anyone than most think.

Hm, that is a good point. Maybe they are just looking for someone to play with or a Trainer to find them eventually. That could explain how Minerva came into my life during last month’s Halloween contest in the castle.

I found a duskull there, so maybe! I think the castle is normally pretty uninhabited, so they must be pretty excited to see people around when they're there.
