As everyone should know, it's now November. If you were not aware of that fact, I hope your coma was pleasant and not filled with traumatic discoveries.

[Cecil is making use of his Official Kingly Voice(tm), today. Or his Unofficial TV Presenter Voice(tm). The difference is hard to tell, sometimes.]

What you might not know is that November is a... special month. One that often involves unexplained visitors, unexplained cases of random teleportation, unexplained memory loss, and unexplained Legendary Pokémon who enjoy homemade sandwiches. Such incidents can occur anywhere in both Johto and Kanto, and they can last for days. During that time, this world's definition of 'normal' is unstable at best, and alarming at worst.

[As if it isn't already, but Cecil ignores that thought and continues.]

Your team is suddenly replaced by a school of Magikarps? That is normal, and they'll return to their regular species when it all ends. You live in Cerulean, but find yourself waking up in the Ice Cave? That is normal, and that is why you should wear warm clothing at all times until December. Your long dead grandmother is in your kitchen, commenting on your wallpaper? That is normal, and you should enjoy it while it lasts. You manage to walk from Ecruteak to Olivine within an hour? That is normal, and an excellent opportunity for spontaneous region tours. You wake up with holes in your memory? That is normal, and you should not panic unless your surroundings are damaged or unknown to you.

[Four or five years ago, those words would have been tinted with tired acceptance. But he's long past the tiredness, and it shows.]

As I've been through this eleven and a half times already, I'll be fine. It's everyone else I worry for.

[He has survived the Zubats. He has survived a No Equipment No Pokémon run of Mt. Mortar. He can survive anything.]

But...that stuff really happens in November? Every year?

One year it took place in early December instead, but yes. It also occurs every May, though this year we were all teleported to the moon, rather than all over creation.

Wh...you got to go to the moon? That's cool, though! Is it really big and silvery up there like it is in the sky?

It is a silvery gray, yes, though we saw very little of it. We were confined to the local palace and far too busy exploring it to attempt to go further.

[Wide eyes, so wide, so innocent.]

There's - there's a palace on the moon? Like for kings and queens?

It certainly felt like one, though I never managed to find the proper armory or throne room you'd expect from a castle. At the very least, it was an enormous mansion.

[ She's out of the house for his message, out running a quick errand or two. At least it was meant to be quick, but Pokemon tend to slow that process down at times... Rosa's not one to complain about hearing his voice in general or doubt his words, though what he speaks of sounds stranger than anything she has witnessed so far in this world. ]

Holes in one's memory... I cannot believe that to be normal, no matter the circumstances.

[ Admittedly, she's a bit worried about that. There hasn't been a moment here she has wanted to forget. ]

[Rosa's absence gives Cecil the opportunity to get started on her surprise emergency kit and he's not one to waste it, even if he has to carefully angle the camera to keep it off the video.

It mostly contains an alarming amount of duct tape and a year's worth of repels, at this point.]

They're hardly uncommon, when travel between worlds is involved, but at least these particular holes are slowly disappearing. I cannot remember what happened the first time beyond sandwiches, but I could tell you every detail of May's lunar ball.

[ ... Duct tape? That's a story waiting to be told in their future, isn't it? ] Could it be the result of enduring it many times before?

[ That perhaps he's developed a resistance to it after being here for so long? ]

[Considering it also involves mistletoe spiked with Sweet Scent...]

That's a possibility, yes. I've no idea if more recent arrivals retain most of their memories after the fact, but all of us who have been here for over half a decade can vouch for the improvement.

[As far as it's an improvement, since it comes with rather strange memories.]

[ By now, she thought she'd be used to hearing how long he's been here. It doesn't make her heart ache as much as the first time, but there's still a bit of a pause before she bounces back from it. ]

Rakka was definitely out for a stroll today, trying to plan out her next move in the world, not expecting anything too out of the ordinary.

Why would they need an armory though? If they're on the moon, nobody could hurt 'em.

[As far as he knows it's relatively difficult to get to THE MOON, even with magic.]

[This sounds..familiar. But not from home. They remember how Dave reacted when they first arrived, acting like they were a well-known friend. Is this how he met them before?]

You'd be surprised. I've visited two other moons back in my world, and every step could easily lead to a hungry Eukaryote, or the incarnated malice of a genocidal madman.

Even the local moon has wild Pokémon, though they are no more dangerous than their earthly cousins.

You've no need to apologize at all. Between the two of us and potential witnesses, we'll surely manage to fill any holes the days might leave.

[Still, he hopes she'll remember most of it. The chaos might be troublesome, but he considers it more than worth the visits.]

Though writing an account of those days would allow us to bypass the problem completely.

It could theoritically occur in early December, but that was only once. I'd place my bet on November.

Twice a year, almost like clockwork, at the end of May and December. If you've been here that long, I presume you remember our... recent lunar vacation?

Not that I know of. It's surprising, truly, when one considers that this has been known to trigger buried memories of other worlds or previous visits.

[Maybe the explanation for the initial batch of sandwich is so terrible he refuses to remember it. Or maybe the first time broke the world more than the others.]

There's even Pokemon on the moon?! That's so cool!

What of the PokeGear's recording functions? [ While she does prefer writing, it may be difficult to do given any of the chaotic situations he's described. ]

Would it not be easier?

[ It's probably a bit naive of her to record every little thing, but it fascinates her to be able to sit down at a later time to watch visions of the past in the palm of her hands. ]
