Okay. So. [Reaching down, IV lifts a curious-looking Meowth kitten up into the sight of the camera.] This is Not my Cat.
He’s literally not my cat, but he thinks he is, or whatever else cat logic that equals making himself at home in my traveling bag means that I also ought to feed and entertain him now.
Recently not my cat has started to pelt me with small change -- is that f- I mean, is that normal? It looks like it's grabbing that amulet or whatever it has first and then poing! Always straight in my face!
[He gives Not His Cat an accusatory stare that gets met with the feline version of a :3 face. Can you blame such a cute face? It's definitely planning another coin attack and when to best spring it on its human.
Sighing, IV sets the kitten down.]
I'm also looking for anybody who'd be interested in hunting for pokemon together. It's recently ...been brought to my notice that only having one that's truly capable of fighting might not be a good thing, so any help or advice on how to build a good team would be worth gold.

That would be Pay Day. All Meowths learn that. It can be converted to pokédollars. The conversion rate is fairly decent...
Why... don't you give it a real name rather than calling it "Not My Cat?"
no subject
It is? That's ....useful, at least, I guess. But do they have to do that while aiming at you? It nearly hit my eye last time!
[Which is a severe attack that combines insult with injury, you know!]
And I'm not naming it! If I give it a name that furry bastard will get the wrong idea and think that it owns me for real!
no subject
[He pouts slightly.]
The Meowth has already imprinted on you. You could always trade it though if you don't want it.
no subject
[There's a small meow coming from somewhere beneath the camera, as if to prove his point.]

[ She's hilarious, she knows. ]
The projectile change is normal, though. It's called "Pay Day", and it's their signature move. It's not a lot, but it's a good way to save up cash. Though normally I would think they'd be aiming it at other Pokemon rather than their trainer.
video
[He growls, but the anger doesn't reach his eyes. IV is self-aware enough to know that he's set himself up for some teasing with his cat problems.]
Thanks, that's good to know. Do you have any idea why he's aiming it at me instead? Last I looked I still wasn't a monster.
no subject
[ Their sassy little back-and-forths are fun, Yuzu thinks. ]
Mm... I'd probably just chalk it up to their personality. Not every cat is the same, after all, and maybe yours just so happens to be a mischievious one. In which case, all you can really do is try to train them out of the habit.
no subject
[A pause.]
Not my cat cat. Mew! You've got no say in it!
[He's definitely already arguing with not his cat as if it were his cat after all. But then, it's IV. He'll argue with anything when he feels like it.]
...how do you do that? I only ever had a dog before. Are cats even trainable?

As for catching pokémon, shall we check the outskirts and the less busy areas of Goldenrod? I could use another to bolster my own team for the time being.
private//video;
[A small smirk. Gathering information and socializing might not look like much, but it's still something he takes pride in.]
...Okay. If you don't start going on at how everything's pointless again. Because if you do, I'll take whatever new pointless pokemon we catch and shove it in your pointless mouth!
no subject
[And that's why the three play off of each other's abilities nicely in his eyes. Armstrong the brains and brawns, Monsoon the defuser and stealth, and IV the public face and charmer.
... Or at least he'll be stealthy once he gets more comfortable in his body.
Monsoon does his trademark toothy grin.]
Don't worry. I'll only let you know when it's truly pointless. How does that sound?
no subject
[It actually sort of is, but he doesn't want Monsoon to know about that. IV's a natural-born entertainer, but there's a big difference whether he can do it on his own conditions or not.]
Like you're still asking to get your mouth stuffed with something nasty, but I'll take it. Do you already have a mark in mind?

[This is the way. For cats.]
no subject
[which is why he's currently tolerating the kitten climbing all over him. IV can be a right sadistic bastard to his fellow humans, but he's refused to cross the line of being mean to animals so far. At least unless they asked for it first.]
no subject
[This is pretty funny, for the record, and some of that humor is bleeding through into Mando's voice.]
I don't know what to tell you, kid. Sometimes Pokemon just decide who they want to be their trainer, and we don't get any say in it.
no subject
Before long his expression slips into a smile, tho.]
He's a persistent little critter, I'll give him that. Pretty darn fearless, too. Although I can't vouch for his taste in trainers.
[He gives Mando a curious look.]
Have you had something like that happen to you before?

[Misaki snorts a bit.] As far as they're concerned, you're their dad. Congratulations on fatherhood.
no subject
I can't be a father figure, I barely even know how to be a decent big brother!!
[He doesn't even know how to make friends with his own species!]
no subject
[She shrugs a bit.] The first step is to give her an actual name.

Oh, didn't you know? Once they decide they're yours, they absolutely are.
Pay Day is highly useful; I taught it to one of my Pokemon via TM, and she is always happy to demonstrate. Although I'll admit she doesn't ever do it by hitting me in the face!
no subject
Does that count only for cats or is it some sort of arbitrary pokemon rule that nobody warned me about?
[He casts a suspicious look to something in the ground off-screen, most likely the playful kitten he just set down.]
I'd love a demonstration. Maybe then this menace will pick up how it's really done.
no subject
[Ruby the Eevee chirps in the affirmative. She chose Radley!]
Evie would love to show you, I'm sure!
[Evie warbles happily and steps onto the screen. She goes on two legs and stretches to the ceiling. Coins rain around her.]

[Having to adjust to
sobbeing poor, Chazz could definitely go for a Pokémon that just handed him cash. That was when the wheels started to turn and he decided he should be taking a different tactic.]I mean.. if you don't want him, I could take him off your hands. No strings attached. It would be an inconvenience.. sure ... But I'd be doing you a favor.
Video
It's also just the money equivalent of 1 and 5 yen coins so far, so there's no real riches to be made from that. [an insulted meow from the background says that his meowth heard that!]
I wouldn't really give him to anybody who wants to keep their eyes, between. His aim is way too damn good!
Video
[Says the duelist that's always threatening to throw his Ojama cards away and yet... keeps them. He shrugged at the rest of it.]
Moneys money. It might not be much now, but over time it'll accumulate, and all you had to do was learn how to dodge.
Suit yourself.
