[Video] Remodeling Time~

[The video post opens with Ulaz standing in front of one of the doors in his house. It is an interior door based on the walls. A gaggle of small Pokemon stands with him - his Espurr, Eevee, and Marill]

Thank you for tuning in. My Espurr, Irkut, was excited about starting the remodel and wanted to do this as though it were a remodeling show. So...

The weather has improved so it is time to start with the remodeling of the house. As I have several water Pokemon, one of whom- [He stopped as the camera rotated seemingly on its own to show off the Finizen outside in a kiddy pool through a window. The small dolphin seemed to be having fun and she had babysitters in the form of a Leafeon and Mightyena] Meze. [The camera rotated back] As I was saying, I have one who requires water now so we are going to remodel what will now formerly be a bathroom so the water Pokemon won't be so isolated.

But first, we need to remove this portion of the wall. I have already checked the plans and it is not a load bearing wall so it is fine to take it down. Safety is important in any job so you should wear proper safety gear.

[He paused a moment to pass out small hardhats and eye protection to his Pokemon, all of them happily exclaiming. Irkut had to use his powers to hold the goggles in front of his eyes, Primdes the Eevee looking a bit confused by them before chiming in happily. Once they were set, Ulaz put on his own hat and goggles]

Now that everyone is ready... [The Pokemon stepped more to the side] We are ready to take out this wall. Right here please. [Ulaz tapped a spot on the wall before stepping to the side.

And that was the most warning there was before a Bastiodon surged forward and rammed the wall, taking it out quite handily and making a hole in the wall almost large enough for Ulaz to step through. Ulaz's three Pokemon exclaimed in excitement. They had been expecting this at least so they weren't surprised by the Bastiodon punching a hole in the wall]

[Ulaz said as the Bastiodon was backing up from having rammed the wall. Tryske looked decidedly pleased with himself as he turned around to wander off. He had helped!]

Well that is the first stage of demolition. We will be sure to show more when it has progressed.

[He glanced down at his Pokemon. Ozriv the Marill was playing with her goggles now, Primdes nodded his head back and forth to make his hat wiggle, and Irkut had stopped using his powers so the goggles just tumbled to the floor]

With the technical work, I am quite skilled in it. I have not done work on a house before, but I have done a lot of research and got advice beforehand so I'm not going into it unprepared.

My Espurr also likes to watch home repair shows I have learned what one needs to pay attention to from those.

[There was a pleased Espurr squeak somewhere off screen]

Yes, I have managed to find a few. Or rather Irkut has. He found them first and then I watched some of them with him.

...Such a form of entertainment doesn't exist in my world, so I hadn't thought to check. That seems quite useful...

[They were quite adorable. Ulaz would admit it. They were a regular cutie squad (tm). It had definitely been the cat's idea to turn this into one of his favorite shows, at least for a few minutes]

Cool. Getting the wall down is definitely a good start! I'm sure it'll look amazing when it's all done.

It is. I will need to clean up a bit to make there is nothing visible for anyone to find, but Tryske made the wall coming down faster.

Thank you. I have plans for how to turn this into essentially a bathhouse. It will be open so water Pokemon can spend time around water and other Pokemon can freely come in to visit them.

[Marik watches curiously. It's weird to see the house he's gotten decent familiar with over the past few months suddenly get the wall knocked out so easily. That is quite the show they all put on! Seems everyone's gotten bit by the building bug, which is nice to see.]

I'm guessing Chatzea's pretty excited to be getting a bigger place, eh?

[Yeah it was strange for him too, but it was important for him that all of his Pokemon were comfortable and Chatzea was too isolated for how social she was when others were around. Short of making a pool that ran through the house, this was the best option for both cold weather and before the pond was built]

She is. I showed her some of the plans that that Lucius drafted back when he first saw it and she was excited that she will eventually get a bigger place to be when she's inside. She's fairly small now so I hope she does not get too much bigger as she grows.

It's been about 2 months now since she hatched, right? She shouldn't be getting too much bigger than she is right now.

I've been curious about getting to see Lucius's work in person. I'm sure it'll be beautiful when everything's finished. Roman architecture is pretty timeless.

Yes, believe it has been that long. I have a feeling she wasn't going to get much bigger than she is as it does not seem too dramatic of growth.

I'm sure as well. I have been studying it more and I'm sure it will be a nice option. We do not have something quite like that in my world that I have seen, but it is very nice.

Ah, I too understand how important it is to take water types into consideration with a home. Hopefully the rest of your renovation goes well.

When we were having our own home constructed, I too had to think on such matters, but I opted for a larger pond outside, with some shelter where they could slip into during colder seasons like now - although we are warming up, I've found.

Do you have any particular designs to the space which you wish to incorporate?

They seem like they are the type that could suffer the most. If the water is not sufficient then they couldn't be out with the others.

I am planning on that as well, but I thought that would take more time and most of my water Pokemon are smaller so they could benefit from indoor accommodations as well. Chatzea is the only one who is restricted to having to be in water as of the moment.

I have gotten advice and some drafts from one who used to design bathhouses in his world. I am told they are Roman in style. The idea is to have a large tub for the Pokemon to spend time in, ideally with a section that is shallower for those that would like the water, but do not swim well.

[His Spheal liked the water, but he mainly liked to splash rather than attempt to swim]

I do not know what "Roman" means, but the core concept seems like it will work wonderfully! And if there are shallows, then that mean even those who are not water types may partake as well. What a fantastic bonding activity.

Although... As the weather warms, have you ever heard of a "kiddy pool"?

I believe it is an era and an architecture style. It is not something I am aware of either. It was not on my world. Yes, that is the thought. I have Pokemon who would enjoy the water but are not swimmers.

I have seen them. Those might be popular when it is hotter outside.

I remember you mentioning that Irkut really likes decorating and remodeling shows. I bet this will be a lot of fun for him.

Do you need any help with building or anything? I have a bit of experience.

Yes, he is a big fan of them. He liked that getting a house which needed some work meant a remodel in real life. At the very least, he is prepared that remodels take time and aren't always easy to begin with.

I would appreciate that, yes. I have been doing my own research and studying the plans of the house, but in practice, I have not worked much on a house.

That's good. I'm glad he's looking forward to getting to work on a project like that.

Sure thing. Most of the houses I helped with back home were pretty simple, and I mostly just moved and held up stuff. But I picked up a few things with the construction, so I should be able to help a little bit at least.

I am as well. I doubt all of them are so enthusiastic, but he is a special case.

Any thoughts you might have would be appreciated. I have various ideas, but the bathroom is priority due to my water Pokemon.

It is. I debated other options, but Tryske wanted to help do something. This seemed to be most useful for his particular set of skills.

I made sure it was not. I would not want to cause any additional problems by damaging the house.

How's the work coming? From here, it looks like you're making some good progress.

[Behind him, Keith's Aegislash was going through some motions for moves it had recently learned. It was training with his Houndoom, learning to handle fire moves, a weakness it was trying to overcome.]

Yes, we are making progress. I am going to get some help with the remodeling soon so it will be faster.

[Ulaz spotted what they were doing in the background]

Looks like some intense training there.

[Training? Yes, training? There was very quickly a shiny Honedge trying to peer over Ulaz's shoulder, wanting to see what was happening. She can see too? Ulaz, noticing Treg was there, raised the device so she could see a little more, which also let Keith see the shiny]
