[This is very clearly not meant to be video. For one thing, it's featuring Shiro's tiny closet of a bedroom. For another, this man has obviously just woken up. His hair is sticking up at weird angles, he's trying to blink his eyes hard enough to keep them open.]

Did ... did we win? The big - [A sort of floppy hand gesture.] Big Suicune thing? Did we win?


[Behold, the end result of extended use of Mega-Evolution. Exhaustion for trainer and pokemon both.]

[Eda snorts softly, but she can't help a smile. She doesn't know much of anything about mega evolution, but she knows exhaustion when she sees it. And she did catch sight of how hard he was fighting during all of that. The fact that her last interaction with Shiro was with his time-displaced teenage self makes it all too easy for Eda to slip into mothering mode, too.]

Yeah, it all worked out. You and that team of yours are no slouch in battle. Everything's okay, but you look like you woke up about a decade sooner than you needed to. You might want to get yourself back to bed.

What happened?

[At least he seems like he relaxes a bit, hearing that it all worked out. Flopping back down against the headboard instead of staying sitting up.]

Nah, it's - Mega-evolving takes it out of both me and Kuro. [His Aggron.] He's probably sacked out too. I hope he is, anyway.

Ohh, well... Someone got Jammond out of there before he made a bigger mess of things. There were some folks battling, and a bunch more who helped them keep going strong. Plus, me and some others tried to calm the pokemon down. A few people tried the same with the biggest beast, reasoning with it and letting it know we weren't there to fight.

Then one girl - tiny little thing - asks for the fighting to stop, and wouldn't you know it, that worked. [Honestly, Eda is not that surprised. She has seen a heartfelt request for peace work wonders - er, most of the time.] The big guy, it's gone now. That- That was weird... It turned into mist? I'd never seen a pokemon do that before. A few weird things happened, actually. I can't say it went smoothly, but it probably went just about as well as it could.

But you? You looked wiped out, and I don't think it matters what took it out of you. If you're not going to get more sleep, you should at least take it easy for a while.

That's... good, actually. Guy was an idiot, but that didn't mean he should have gotten crushed. ["idiot" is about as harsh a word as Shiro's willing to use. Even groggy.]

A little girl? She was okay, right? [But he also isn't too surprised that worked. You live here for long enough, that stops surprising you too.] Just disappeared? What about the ones who were battling? Sorry, I - it's a bit hazy toward the end there.

Yeah I'm - staying put for now.

She was, yes. Pretty sure she's Dimitri's kid, you know the guy? He was looking out for her.

[Eda's smile falters as she shrugs.] Yeah, it kind of just faded out into a fog. The others didn't do that, though, they're sticking around.

[One of them followed Eda out of the cavern. She has no idea what her Meowstic said to spark that... But right now, she's more concerned about Shiro.]

You have anyone around who can help you out if you need anything?

[But there will be a delivery of toxically strong coffee, kept warm by Spicy's enthusiastic flames as she rides in the saddle, delivered by a Corviknight in an hour or so.]

[Spicy gets welcomed by Shiro's pokemon instead of the man himself. His more responsible pokemon, like Umbreon and Gengar.]

[They'll take the coffee, and trade for pokemon snacks. Thank you, Spicy.]

[That's a wise decision, because Spicy and Blue would totally get into shenanigans.]

[Spicy hoards all the snacks, leaving the poor Corviknight with none, and then toddles off into the garden next to the house to abuse all the plant Pokemon there.]

[Radley was one of the few who did not attend the weekend event. Traipsing through tunnels and camping out does not interest him in the least, especially when he feared the Pokemon was electric and might shock him. Right now, he's not sure if Shiro is having a trippy dream or if he's remembering something that happened.]

So is that what you guys did over the weekend, fight Suicune?

[Yeah, that sounds terrifying.]

That's kind of why I asked.

[She'd been downstairs making lunch when her Gear came to life. And up the stairs she runs, trying not to be TOO abrupt as she walks in.]

You're awake. Are you all right?

[WHOA DOOR.]

[And that leaves Shiro blinking stupidly at her for a few seconds before his brain reboots.]

Yeah - yeah, I'm good. I'm awake now. Hi.

Sorry... [Right, easy does it.] We were worried. I think that's the longest you've ever been asleep here. I didn't realize Mega-evolution was that taxing.

Nah... I was out for a week once.

[For that canon update.] It depends how long you hold out using it for. We trained a lot with it, for a demonstration, and now we can hold it for longer.

[Which is something to be proud of! But also. The crash afterward.]

[He sounds okay! Just groggy.] Yeah, I'm good. It happens when you use Mega-Evolution.

Takes a lot out of trainers and pokemon.

Oh, goodness. You used that with Kuron, yes? Is he alright, too?

[Look, it was Romelle's "Thing", okay? She had to worry about people.]

Yeah, Kuro's fine. He's still asleep, apparently.

[Which is the best thing for the big guy.]

I think I'll be okay. Did everyone get out of the cave all right?

[Knock knock... fresh coffee at the door.]

[Oop, there's a yawn. But he's gesturing Keith in, all the same.]

I think so. Kuro's probably still sacked out.

Yeah. I saw him earlier.

[Keith made his way in, still walking a bit gingerly on that recently healed (again) ankle. Running around through the tunnels and then dragging a panicked flailing man across a cavern away from giant dinosaur creatures hadn't exactly been the best thing for it. But, for the most part, he looked okay.

He handed the hot steamy mug to Shiro.]

I haven't got anything that mega-evolves like that. What's involved in doing that?

[He sat on the edge of the bed once Shiro had the coffee in hand.]

Good. He probably needs it too.

[He folds his legs up under him, sitting cross-legged on the bed, and curling both hands around the mug.]

[Yeah, definitely needed this.]

Eight badges in one region, at least. Pokemon has to be level one hundred, and one of the types that can do it. [He lifts his right hand, the wristband still around it with the Aggronite set in.] Then you get one of these.

But it takes so much energy out of both you and your pokemon. Kuro and I don't use it unless it's absolutely necessary.
