October Catch All - OTA

Who: Bo-Katan and You!

Summary: Bo-Katan is traveling across parts of Johto

Oct 5th - 8th

The last time Bo-Katan had taken the magnet train it had been with Din. They had spent the hours talking and catching up. This time she made the trip alone. It was a lonely 6 hours but she managed, getting into Goldenrod City without incident.

Having the time to explore the city over the next few days, she checked out all the relevant points of interest. An entire day was spent at the department store, browsing and doing a little shopping. Mostly picking up supplies for her journey. Though it was also interesting to see everything else they offered there. She even briefly went into the Underground. Though of course she also spent time at the local Pokémon center. Not having a friend’s house to stay in this city, she would spend her downtime there. She could be found reading the copy of Paldean Rider magazine that she picked up at the department store, or studying information on the local gyms.

Before heading out of town though she made sure to stop by the beach. Bo-Katan letting several of her Pokémon play in the sand and the water. A baby Lapras and a Wartortle would be seen splashing around in the waves while a Axew and Cubone seemed content building sand castles. Bo herself simply enjoyed sitting nearby, watching her Pokémon and enjoying the breeze blowing through her red hair. Her Rowlet snoozing beside her.

Oct 9th - 15th

Early on the 9th the Mandalorian set out on her journey. Having picked her Pokémon for the trek and packed all the supplies she needed. On the back of her Cyclizar, they made good time traveling Route 34. And of course that’s when the rains started. Bo-Katan having been prepared as she had checked the forecast ahead of time. Rain didn’t scare her, but she did wear a hooded poncho over her armor to keep her drier.

Then came Ilex Forest. It was a lot darker than she expected, so much she turned on the light on her helmet to see better. Though at least the thick canopy made the rains more tolerable. Making her way through the forest with her Cyclizar, not as many Pokemon or people seemed to be out and about as she would usually expect. Though she did talk and battle against those she did come across. Learning about the shrine and even leaving a small piece of uj’alayi cake as seemed to be the local tradition.

Eventually she would make her way out of the forest and into Azalea Town. Bo-Katan finding herself amazed at the sheer number of slowpoke that were lying around everywhere, seemingly enjoying the rainy weather. She at least would be grateful to have a roof to sleep under at the local Pokémon Center that night.

Oct 16th - 22nd

More rain. It was still coming down by the time she left Azalea Town. Bo-Katan and her Cyclizar sped across Route 33 with the occasional battle stops before reaching Union Cave. The reprieve from the rain for the next couple days was a welcome one as the Mandalorian and her Pokémon walk through and explore the cavern. Having dry ground to sleep on was not at all taken for granted. Each night she camps out near water so her Lapras can enjoy swimming. Sometimes intently looking around as she swears she hears something in the distance that sounds familiar.

It’s still raining by the time they leave Union Cave. Bo and her Cyclizar making the journey across route 32 with more battles in between as they approach Violet City. Though it’s not without a detour at the Ruins of Alph and taking a day to explore there. At least there’s some cover from the rain in the ruins. Though soon enough they finally make it into Violet, deciding to leave Sprout Tower for another time, and she again stays at the local Pokémon Center.

Oct 23rd - 29th

Finally the rains weather pulls out and the sun makes its appearance! The warmer and drier weather is definitely a welcome change and Bo-Katan makes full use of the opportunity. She and her Pokémon leaving Violet City and traveling to Cherrygrove. The place where she had last left off before Din came to get her and took her to Saffron City. This time she takes the opportunity to better explore the city and the surrounding areas. The Pokémon and trainers are much weaker here and easier to defeat for her growing team, their their own growth is slower, but they keep at it anyway.

There’s no hurry this time as she leisurely explores with the nice weather and the abundance of Pokémon running around. Seemingly taking advantage of all the mushrooms and berries that are around. Even her Pokémon partake on the feast that nature has provided with Bo even picking berries to put in her bag for later.

Having just spent a few hours at the beach, Bo-Katan came back to the Pokémon center to get some rest and prepare for her planned travels. With her Rowlet perched on her shoulder and helmet on her head, the lady Mandalorian stepped inside and quickly caught sight of someone familiar.

“Harry?”

The armored woman came walking over, taking note of the gathering of Pokémon around him. She hadn’t expected to see him here as they had met before the race last month. She hadn’t seen him since then.

Ron could hear footsteps and a voice calling his name as quickly as his ears can detect them. The Umbreon then nags on Harry’s jacket sleeve, alerting him that someone has found him in the Pokémon Center.

Realizing that Bo-Katan is stopping by at Goldenrod the moment hearing his name, he immediately gets up from the floor, leaving Ron and Molly to look after the two Vulpix and Fennekin, while he greets her.

“Oh hey, Bo-Katan. Hi. It has been a while since the races. Congratulations for winning the race by the way. That was really a brilliant performance you did.”

Pulling off her helmet as he comes over, she offers the young man a soft smile. Glad to see a familiar face. Bo-Katan’s head dipping in appreciation at the congratulations.

“Thank you. Though really the Cyclizar deserves the most credit. She really gave it her best effort, especially for a stranger like me.”

Bo had thought she would have the disadvantage for not using a Pokémon that was hers. Turns out that wasn’t the case. She was just as surprised at her win as everyone else.

“So what are you doing here? Are you traveling?”

“Well, I happen to be in Goldenrod to stay for a few days. I was going to drop off the eggs I got from Cecil’s stamp in Kanto in the current place I’m living in Olivine City, but it turns out that the eggs didn’t want to wait to hatch,” Harry replies to her with a relaxed smile, “In fact, some of the newly hatched Pokémon are in here at the Centre today.”

Ron greets Bo-Katan and her Rowlet with a gleeful ‘Umbreon’ with an innocent smile. Even with his new Dark type, he still has the same energy he had as an Eevee.

“Ah, I also got a couple eggs from Cecil. They also hatched recently.” She had been carrying them around for weeks so it was about time! One of them had been getting especially heavy.

The Rowlet chirps a happy greeting to Ron while Bo-Katan bends down to look at the sleek black Pokemon. “And who is this?” The Mandalorian lady offering her hand to the Umbreon, wondering if he would be okay with her petting him.

“Reon!” Ron purrs, letting her know that he is totally fine with being petted, any friend of Harry’s is all good to pet him in the head.

“Why that’s Ron, he is an Umbreon and one of the first Pokémon I got upon arriving in Jotho. I had him ever since he was an Eevee egg and it did took him a long time before he evolved one night while defending me from some annoying stray Pokémon.”

With the friendly affirmative, Bo-Katan pets Ron’s head. Trying to be gentle as her hands are covered in gloves. While she also marvels at the markings on his body and those big red eyes. “So Umbreon is an Eevee evolution,” she muses quietly. “I haven’t seen this one before.”

There’s just so many kinds of Pokémon to keep track of! She’s seeing new ones all the time.

“I’m waiting for an Eevee egg from Radley,” Bo then admits. “Though I have no idea what to have it evolve into.” There’s a lot of choices apparently. “Did he become an Umbreon because he evolved at night?”

“Umbreon is a very sleek looking Eevee evolution. It has grown on me quite a lot since Ron evolved and the great thing is is not the only one. Eevee have a big pool of evolutions, 8 in total, due to their genetics being very unique. I also had another Eevee evolution ins Espeon. Maybe one day I can introduce you to Violet, she enjoys meeting people too.”

“Yes. As long as you have a high friendship with an Eevee at night time, they should evolve into an Umbreon. The same applies to Espeon but in the day time,” he explains to her, “Nice. I have been friends with Radley for a long time now, he is one of the first people I met in this world. It is through him where I got Ron from.”

"I see," Bo-Katan says thoughtfully, tucking that information away as she was still learning many of the different ins and outs of Pokemon. She hadn't had opportunity to thoroughly research Eevee as of yet, so this was definitely helpful.

Giving Ron a final pat on the head, she then stands up again. "Radley is one of the first people I met as well outside of Mando and his group," she says, actually remembering to use the name her friend most often went by. "I'm looking forward to getting one of his Eevee eggs. Actually, that's one of the reasons I came back to Johto."

“That’s pretty brilliant. He sure knows his way into breeding and raising Eevees well, he is definitely one of the best breeders I’ve ever known,” Harry happily agrees, he still remembers the day when he got Ron’s egg from Radley some time after the past time mishaps in Hisui.

“Speaking of friends who are breeders, I had a friend who had been in this world for a long time like your friend Mando. Hermione, like Radley, was a breeder in here and so is another friend, Luna. But sadly Hermione disappeared months after I came here, I still miss her a lot.”

Bo-Katan goes quiet as she listens, and there's a pause at the last thing he says. She had heard that people come and go, but the thought of suddenly losing friends, like Din, wasn't something she had thought much about.

Moving over to an empty seat, the Mandalorian sits down and motions for Harry to do the same so that they weren't just standing in the middle of the floor. Putting her bag down beside her, Senaar flies down to chat with Harry's Pokemon while the humans talk.

"Were you close?"

It kind of sounds like it if he misses her so much.

He doesn’t hestitate to go for the empty chair next to Bo-Katan and proceeds to sit down on it while Ron, Molly, the Fennekin, and the Vulpix ‘twins’ take the moment to interact with Senaar.

“Oh yes, Bo-Katan. We are pretty close, although we didn’t initially start it off that way. When we first met in a train to our school as kids, she did come off as a bossy smart girl and it stayed that way for a few weeks. But then me and another friend of ours were able to save from a troll’s attack one Halloween night and we began to become close ever since. She and Ron’s namesake are the closest people I could have for siblings. We sometimes argue with each other but we still stick by each other even when things get tough.”

"So she's like family. They both are."

That was something she could understand, and a soft sad smile touches her lips.

"It's no wonder you miss her."

Bo-Katan knows that feeling all too well. Loss was a thing she was very familiar with. Though the pain she knew wasn't from a separation being in different worlds. No. It was far more permanent than that. But that doesn't stop her from empathizing with Harry.

“Yeah, I miss her very much. Maybe one day she will come back and we can catch up. But for now, I do hope that she is safe and sound at home and try not to worry too much about me.”

He didn’t have the heart to add in that Hermione did came behind his timeline, which did explain her surprise upon seeing him as older and weary when they reunited in Hisui. All he can tell now is that he just misses one of his dearest and oldest friends so much.

Reaching out, she placed a hand on Harry’s arm in a comforting gesture. “I’ve heard that time stands still in our worlds while we’re here. Im not sure if I believe that or not.”

Bo-Katan hopes it’s true, but there’s the chance it might not be. “But if she does know you’re still here, I know she’s waiting for you. And will keep waiting for you till you come home.” That’s what Bo-Katan would do if she was in the same position. I’m a way she already was.

“Oh gee, thanks for the reassurance. I was also told that time stays still whenever we arrive in here when I first came here. I do believe that she still remembers her time in this world after she was brought back to our world while still waiting for me.”

Harry tries to remain hopeful that Hermione still retains her memories in the world of Pokémon after she was sent back to their world for the second time. While he and Bo-Katan are still chatting, the Pokémon are busy chatting away with each other.

“I’m honestly not sure what to think,” Bo-Katan admits. The thought of possibly not remembering any experiences she had here was a bit unsettling. But if they didn’t, was it for the best? Though what would be the point in bringing them here in that case.

“My friend comes from a time well before mine. What does that mean for him here and back home?” Did he return without his memories? Does he ever return at all? In which case is the Din she knows back home a different version? It’s mind boggling to think about.

“I’m also wondering the same thing as well,” he takes a moment to have a deep breath before finally confessing about Hermione’s timeline situation, “I do believe that Hermione was way behind me in the timeline when we met again. From what I can recall, she was here for some time before I arrived.”

“Although weirdly enough I did recall seeing her back in my world before my arrival, which makes things even more complicated. I was not able to tell her what happened between her return to this world and me coming in here.”

Green eyes flick over to Harry when he makes his confession. It seemed their circumstances were similar. With the exception that Din was still here, and Hermione wasn’t.

“Complicated is a good way of putting it,” Bo-Katan says with a soft sigh. “It’s the same with Din… Mando. As I’m sure you know he’s been here for about two years. There’s so much he doesn’t know.”

“Two years can be a lot of information for one person. The same thing could be applied to Hermione as well. Nearly three years of things and events she hasn’t experienced from where she was at and I didn’t have the heart to tell her any of it. I didn’t want to get her traumatized from hearing about things she has yet to experienced.”

Nodding in sympathy, she completely understood why he didn’t tell Hermione anything. If it was that devastating, it was probably for the best. She would likely find out one day anyway. “I think you did the right thing.”

Bo then paused, this conversation dredging up feelings she was trying to put behind her. “I’ve told Din some things. He can handle it. But it’s not all that bad. Still, I’ve only given him bits and pieces.”

Even when he’s burden with the guilt of not being able to tell Hermione anything from the two years and a couple of months he has experienced, it is actually good to know that he had done the right thing not to immediately disclose the information to her just yet. Maybe she will get to experience the events at her own timing or he can muster the courage to slowly inform her of these things.

“I can tell that you have a point there, Bo-Katan. I did what I could to not stress her out and it did saved us a lot of problems in the long run. Maybe when she does return, I can safely give her information little by little at my own discretion and let her process it on her own. She is very smart and I think that she would can handle it very well like how she is able to learn so many things ahead of our batch.”

Again she nods and considers what he says for a few moments.

“I think that’s wise. When you’re both ready to talk about it, I think you should. You don’t want to lie to her or hold things back. I mostly only tell Din what he needs to know if he asks.”

She pauses, her face reflecting a mix of emotions.

“If I told him more than that, it would get more complicated than it needs to be.”

“Agreed. I will definitely keeping that in mind whenever Hermione returns to this world again. If I say too much things to her, it would have given her a hard time to understand the information properly. Not going to overload her with too much information, just giving some bits whenever she tries to ask me.”

Harry glances to see how his and Bo-Katan’s Pokémon are faring and he notices that they are enjoying their company very much. The Vulpix twins in particular are being in a playful mood, especially the Kantonian Vulpix who is proving to be more boisterous than his Alolan ‘twin’ who is more demure.

Following his gaze, Bo-Katan smiles softly as she watched Senaar interact with Harry’s Pokemon. The Rowlet seeming to have taken a shining to the trio of baby foxes. Patting each one of them on the head with her wing fondly while playing with them.

“So what are your plans after Goldenrod?” The Mandalorian looking back to Harry. “Going back to Olivine?” She hasn’t been to that town yet and suspects it might be awhile. She’s explored very little of Johto so far.
