Ah, I see... well, that certainly sounds less horrific to deal with than what we had to face in the war.

I hear it's not particularly pleasant, but still a step up from an endless cycle of revivals by far.

It certainly sounds more appealing. Even if our memories were erased, just knowing that's what happened... it's not pleasant to think about.

Yes. It's still unsettling. I only recall that last cycle, which was bad enough... but who knows what else came before it? What other terrible battles and ends we endured... not knowing is certainly worse than knowing, no matter how bad it was.

From the cycle I remember, he was extremely helpful. So at least having him there made some difference.

I can hardly blame him for agreeing. But it shows who he truly is, that he would break from blindly following his side to give us that warning.

It made all the difference for us in the war. We wouldn't have known to act without his information. Everything would have continued to happen, endlessly...

We'd have spent much longer looking for our crystals, too. In fact, had we not fought, mine would not have manifested.

Between the cycle I remember and the one you experienced that followed... he certainly knew what he was doing in that whole war. I'm glad he pushed you to that battle, so that you could reach a true end to the conflict.

Yes... though I do wish he'd not felt the need to underestimate the bonds people share to do so. That feeling can only weaken him...

I'm sure it's possible. He may be carrying considerable guilt, which could make it a challenge for him to stay near others, but... at the same time, that guilt can be a motivation. It may drive him to work together with you more, for a chance to make amends.

[That's how it often goes for Kain, in either direction.]

It does. I can only hope it will last longer, and lead to improved sociability with others. It's not as if he'd be rejected...

He may feel as if he doesn't belong, or doesn't deserve to belong. Not that he won't try... but such thoughts never truly fade.

Poking at them with a broom doesn't always tease them out, either...
