The hills are alive with the sound of… sneezing?

It’s almost a week into January, and trainers may have started to get nervous about the lack of Snorunts. Whether you’re excited to see them, or just want the metaphorical bomb to drop and be over with - the wait is finally done. Snorunts have started to make their way into town.

But instead of fortunes, what they have to give right now is coughs, bleary eyes, and sad little flops sideways into the snow. They’re not alone, either: every once in a while you’ll see an equally sick Glalie or Froslass. (Be careful - a sneezing Glalie is basically a wrecking ball waiting to happen, prone to launching itself backward! And if you’ve been struck by an odd spurt of bad luck, maybe you’ll be right in the way when it does…)

In cities across Johto and Kanto, and in field camps in between, Nurse Joys are scrambling to treat the miserable Ice Pokemon. But they’re direly in need of more helping hands. Will you pitch in?

“Yeah. It’s kinda nice they’re all so individual,” Radley says. “And I guess they probably exist somewhere, but even with all the different personalities, I’ve never seen a nasty Eevee.”

He kind of hopes they don’t exist, as unrealistic as that is.

"It's probably less common in some kinds of Pokémon," he theorizes. After all, there are just as many that are known to be more aggressive.

Eevees are often thought to be a good Pokémon for novice trainers or even people looking for a nice pet. It makes sense that there wouldn't be as many who weren't so people friendly even if they're almost definitely out there.

"Yeah, that's what I figure," Radley says. "People love coming to the Eevee Cafe because the Eevees are all so personable and sweet."

They warble happily.

"You wanna go see how Moon's doing?" he asks.

It would be a good idea. She should be fine, but she hasn't had much time unattended outside of their home yet. The odds of her suddenly finding her energy and getting in trouble are low, but not impossible.

"Yeah, I should check in on her," he agrees, straightening up so they can walk back into the main part of the café. Sure enough she's exactly where they left her. She curled up with her fur floofed up to keep her snug, but she does look like she's awake. Though maybe only pretending to say attention to what Marigold and Rosie are saying.

Radley chuckles. "Well, they look cozy."

Rosie chirps happily.

"Would you guys like something to eat while you're here?" Radley asks.

"They do. I'm glad they've been getting on."

It would be nice if Moon put a little more effort into being friends, but at least it doesn't seem like she's offended them. She's stayed awake, which is more than she does for some of his own team.

"Food would be good. The train takes a while, so I was planning on getting something before it's time to head back."

Indeed, they seemed quite happy chatting, even though Moon wasn't so chatty.

"Cool. You wanna see a menu?"

Radley smiles as Evie is already bringing one in her mouth.

"Quick service," Min comments, taking the menu from Eevee before patting her on the head. He opens it up, starting to read the item.

"What would you recommend? Moon likes sour foods."

Evie warbles happily.

"Does she like lemon?" Radley wonders.

Moon perks up at hearing them discussing her. She calls out affirmatively.

"She does," Min replies, just in case Radley didn't pick up on that.

[crystalmaster]

Evie chirps. She likes lemon too!

"We've got several yummy lemon desserts," Radley says. "And also some entrees that can have lemon added to squeeze on them."

Fake meats, mostly.

"How about this?" he asks, pointing at a faux-fish dish that looks like it should lend itself pretty well to some added lemon. "We should probably get an actual meal instead of filling ourselves up on sweets."

Moon sounds like she disagrees, but she only voices a mild protest. Her ears droop and her eyes are big and shiny. She seems to know this won't work on Min-Gi, so turns them on Radley instead.

“Oh yeah, that’s a good choice,” Radley says sagely.

He chuckles sympathetically at Moon’s expression. “A full meal is definitely wise. If you want, adding a dessert for after is only a couple of Pokedollars more on this special.”

Even without turning his head he can feel Moon's eyes on him. Min-Gi nods, turning to wave a hand to get her to sit back down. Knowing he's agreed she doesn't need much convincing.

"We'll do that then. Is it okay if we figure out dessert after? Or is it better to order it now?"

[crystalmaster]

"Sure," Radley smiles. "You can figure out the dessert at any time."

Marigold and Rosie chirp one after another.

"Thanks, Radley," he says gratefully, handing the menu back. "This will beat anything they have on the train."

He turns to look at Moon who is floofing herself back up and settling in to wait.

"Are you going eat here or over there?"

She doesn't answer so much as look back at him, then relax back into her comfy position. So. She's staying put probably.

"Sure," Radley smiles.

He chuckles at Moon. "That is a pretty soft couch."

Soon the food is ready and it's brought out.

Moon does actually wake up at the scent of food. She sits, waiting until the food is placed in front of her before she starts to nibble at it slowly.

"It smells good," Min compliments, unwrapping the cutlery at his own table so he can dig in himself. "Looks like the Eevees aren't the only draw."

[crystalmaster]

Radley smiles at Moon and looks to Min. "Thanks," he says. "We aim to please."

"Vee!" says Evie.

Some of the other Eevees are wandering in, as well as Bella the Glaceon, who thinks she's still an Eevee.

It's probably a good job he said that before too many of them wandered in, but even if he came here to eat and catch up with someone he doesn't see all that often it's not as though he minds them being there. He won't force them, but he makes room on his seat if any of them do want to join him.

"I'm thinking of evolving Moon into a Glaceon when she's strong enough," he says upon seeing Bella.

Several of them happily go over to him and some to Min.

“Cool,” Radley smiles, petting Bella. “Bella has a lot of fun.”

Bella chirps, trying to say Eevee instead of Glaceon.

"She looks it," Min says, admiring her. He's a while off putting serious consideration into it, but although he already has a number of ice-types he thinks a Glaceon would be a welcome addition.

"Has she been evolved very long?"

[crystalmaster]

"A pretty long time," Radley says. "But she still thinks she's an Eevee who makes ice and that she should be small like the others. Luckily, everybody's really accepting of her and loves to play when she makes ice."

With her apparent attempts to still use the Eevee cry he'd expected a different answer. Min pauses in his eating, looking back over at Bella with a little bewilderment.

"That's... different."

He's trying to be polite, but it does seem a little strange if she's been evolved for a while.

"She was evolved and then put right in a Pokeball, so I wondered if maybe she just didn't have the chance to really get used to being evolved," Radley explains. "Then when she was given to me, she popped out and still thought she was supposed to be an Eevee."

Bella just waves her tail.
