[ So Naminé and Xion have been traveling for a little while, and to Naminé's pleasant surprise, she's picked up quite a few new friends! Right now, she's in her room in Ecruteak's inn, with her Mimikyu sitting at her hip. Perched on top of her head is a very tiny Rowlet, who's... currently grooming Naminé's hair.

She's been curious ever since speaking to Anders, so... ]

There are so many new Pokémon around, aren't there? For me, this is the first time something like this has happened, where many new species have suddenly appeared.

I've been wondering... this has happened before, hasn't it? And when was that, if anyone can tell me? I--

[ Her Rowlet suddenly gives a chirp and flies off Naminé's head before landing beside her and launching itself into her bag. For a moment, she can only stare in complete disbelief before she gently withdraws the owl from inside. ]

... And Roxas, at least, seems to be very picky about his food. Have any of them been like that, for you?

[ Naminé's going to be in Ecruteak for a little while, so! She takes the opportunity to do some exploring. Last time she'd been here, she hadn't really spent much time in Johto, and Ecruteak is the type of town she likes. And the food... the food is definitely excellent.

She takes some time exploring the Burned Tower, and even though it's a little intimidating, she manages to make it through little by little. Which is pretty impressive, for anyone who knows Naminé. Her little Rowlet sometimes makes a little bit of trouble for Naminé, considering he likes to fly off... so maybe someone might help her round the little guy up? Especially if he decides to perch on the top of their head... or attempt to steal their food. ]

[Ecruteak is much more agreeable to Thida than Goldenrod. It's quieter, more old-fashioned. Even the air smells better here. She's taken to wandering around the city when she's not working or training, an Inkay always floating by her side. Today, she's found a very surprising treat in one of the smaller stores: baked sweet potatoes. She's sitting on a bench, breaking off pieces to share with her Inkay, when there's a sudden weight on her head.]

Ah-

[And now there is a round bird snapping up a piece of sweet potato right out of her hands! She gapes for a moment, both her and the Inkay wide-eyed, before she slowly breaks off another piece and...offers it to the Rowlet.]

Hungry bird?

Oh, Roxas, that's rude, you can't--

[ Oh. Naminé's still embarrassed and flustered, but at least the girl doesn't seem really offended. Actually... she's feeding the little Rowlet? Huh.

Roxas chirps and flaps his wings before accepting the piece. ]

I'm sorry for him... he's so curious about everything, but he's not giving you any trouble, is he?

[Oh? Thida turns and looks, blinking widely at Namine before nodding.]

Not any trouble. These're cheap, anyway.

[So I mean...she loses nothing by sharing with random Pokemon that pop by.]

This is the third time new species have appeared in such large numbers at once, at least since I first arrived. ...Well, I assume their current number is large; I've not yet had the opportunity to visit Johto and see for myself.

You must have heard about that September of daily swarms, with its cats and dogs raining from the skies. But years before that, we suddenly received eggs containing brand new species, which soon started appearing on routes and in caves.

I think the last time it happened was in September. Not this September or last September, but two years ago.

[ Sometimes, she's reminded of just how long Sora's been here. Like right now. ]

Was it very... quiet, like this? Or was it more obvious?

[Armin would weigh in on the new pokemon appearing, but this is his first time experiencing that too. So lets focus on cute round owls instead. Armin's got his own rowlet sitting on his lap, a small round ball of owl who seems for the moment at peace.]

Annie [Oh god the name is still embarrassing, but it is all she will listen to.] doesn't really seem to be very picky about her food. She does seems to have some trouble accepting new people.

They are a pretty fascinating new pokemon, aren't they?

[ Oh gosh. Roxas fluffs himself up, chirping excitedly when he sees the other cute round owl. It's just like him...! ]

Does she? Roxas seems alright with new people. I wonder if it's usual for them to be shy...

They are, and very cute. I wonder how many new ones have shown up...

[Annie opens one eye, before she squints at Roxas via the gear. !!! who is that owl. What is up with that.]

It's hard to say. But even if it is, they are still individuals in the end.

I'm not sure. I wonder if those odd little creatures from a while back have come back too. The ones with the little cloaks.

[Krieg's been exploring the Burned Tower too. It's getting to be a good place to train up his Charmander.

Currently, though they're taking a break. He's sitting on the ground in an out-of-the-way corner, back to back with Murder Chicken, and with Torch Dragon napping on his lap. The little Charmander's tail, which is draped over Krieg's knee, lights up their resting spot like a tiny dot of candlelight.

Krieg is kind of drowsing a bit, too, but he wakes right up when something small and feathered lands on his head. MC used to sit on his head when he was still a tiny Torchic, but it's been a while since he was small enough to do that. Krieg twitches alert and looks up into a tiny little owl face peering down at him from its perch.]

[ Roxas lets out a chirp, wiggling a bit before settling down. Despite the mask, Roxas is far from scared of this new person! Actually, maybe this new person has some yummy food...

Naminé, meanwhile, looks pretty intimidated. She knows Krieg, kind of, since they talked all of once, but seeing him in the flesh, in all his gigantic glory is pretty daunting. She shuffles in place, and she holds out a hand for Roxas, but the little owl isn't leaving Krieg's head anytime soon! In fact, he flutters his wings, chirping to encourage Naminé to come over. ]

[Well, this is a strange little owl. Krieg's pretty sure he's never seen one quite like it before, and definitely not in the Burned Tower. Maybe it belongs to someone? Or maybe it just wants a snack? Krieg usually keeps a few pieces of candy in his pockets for snack emergencies, so he fishes one out now, unwraps it, and offers it up to the little round bird on his head. He's a little too distracted by the bird's antics on top of his head to notice Naminé for the time being.]

Well... Roxas is certainly new. And Tomomi-- [ she gestures to the Mimikyu next to her ] --is one I've never seen before, either.

Oh, if you're talking about a Mimikyu, then yeah! I'm pretty sure they're new! I mean, I saw them a while back but it's not a bad thing!

They're kind of cute! [pause] ...In a weird kind of way.

Mm, a little bit. He keeps flying over to people to beg for food, and he's so curious that I'm worried he'll end up getting hurt somehow.

It seems like you've already got a few people talkin' about it, but I was one of those who was around the last time this happened a couple years ago, yeah.

What was it like, for you? Did you find very many new ones so suddenly?

Well, not a whole lotta new ones all at once... I mean, at first, it was just one Pokemon in particular, and no one knew anythin’ about it- not even the locals. We had ta come up with a name ta call ‘em by, just so everyone knew what we were talkin’ about. I don’t think anyone thought there’d be a huge swarm not long after that of a bunch of new Pokemon.

[By this point, Angel was beginning to wonder if birds getting caught in her hair was just a way of being introduced to people. It had happened back in New Bark Town, when she came across Murphy and his pokemon. Now, it seemed to be happening again with the, admittedly adorable, owl creature that had gotten tangled in her asymmetrical hair.]

[Reaching up to pacify the creature with a few pats to the head, Angel glanced around. Her lips pressed into a line, trying hard not to laugh in delight at the creature. She hadn't seen anything like it in the woods nearby, which meant that someone had to be missing their beloved creature.]

[She wasn't about to tear the poor thing from its owner]

[ Roxas decides to make himself at home right in Angel's hair. He can feel she's a good person, and he lets out a quiet little chirp as he settles down. He even begins grooming the girl's hair, though he... doesn't get too far. He's just too small to make much of a difference.

Immediately, though, he perks up when he hears his name. ]

Roxas, where-- oh, there you are. [ Naminé lets out a little sigh as she stops just short of the girl. ] I'm sorry, he has a habit of finding people's heads to land on...

[The smile Angel offered was sweet, clearly un-bothered by the creature nestled within her hair. The only problem seemed to be with the Eevee at Angel's feet, who looked up at the creature with no small amount of jealousy.]

It's not a problem, [Angel kept her voice soft, devoid of any sort of hostility or frustration. Her own pokemon had put her into spots of trouble before, and people had been more than understanding. It only made sense to offer the same kindness in turn.]

You said his name was Roxas, did you not? It's a lovely name.
