[ The video starts with a rather...disturbed-looking Rhys staring wide-eyed at the camera. He's more or less bothered by this for a number of reasons. This had to be some kind of weird dream you had when you were passed out cold, but it wasn't turning out to be that way. When Rhys thought he would be waking up soon, something else happened. Like getting this weird Elgyem thing floating around nearby. Or the weird guy who was there to help him out of bed at his house. Rhys doesn't even have a house.

There's a pause at first. ] Uhh. Hi. There. I guess.

I'm, I'm here by some kind of mistake. My name's Rhys, and I'd really like to wake up from this dream now. So far the whole "pinching your arm" idea isn't working and believe me, I've been trying. I have a ECHO arm.

[ He'd probably show off his battle scars, but he's been through enough for a lifetime when it comes to adventures and the injuries you've collected thereof. So he just shakes his head. ]

Any help as soon as possible would be appreciated. There's...stuff I gotta do back on Pandora, and this doesn't really count as any of that.

Yup, more or less. I kind of wish I didn't, but what can you do.

Just get used ta it like the rest of us. My first bit of advice is gettin’ a good tempered Pokemon that’s big enough ta ride. If it were winter, I’d tell ya “Ponyta” but since it’s summer… Anythin’ else will do just fine.

[atlasrising]

Why? What's wrong with a...a...what did you call it? Ponyta?

[ he'll just mumble under his breath: ] Who the hell named these things?

Well, mate, for one thing, it’s a horse that’s on fire.

[atlasrising]

Oh. [ How does that...even work? ] So you're telling me you just ride on a pokemon that's on fire, and you come out of it completely fine? I hope that professor guy packed some fireproof suits with us, because there's no way in hell I'm riding one of those.

[pipers_son]

Nah, nah, it’s more like… Listen, I ain’t a scientist here, but if they ain’t upset with ya for whatever reason, the fire don’t burn none. So most of the time it’s just hot, but it ain’t gonna burn ya bad. Handy for travelin’ in the colder seasons, like I said.

[atlasrising]

Oooohkay. That's not weird at all. [ He's still not going to try that though. ]

Do I have this ponyta thing on my...what did he call it? The dex? Could I see what it looks like on there or do I actually have to see it? 'Cause I can't lie, a horse on fire is actually a pretty cool idea.

As long as it's not, y'know. Dying.

Yeah, it should be there. But, if ya like, I can show ya what mine looks all grown up.

What, a ponyta? Grown up?

[ He digs through the dex for a moment to get some measurements. And from what this thing is telling him, uh. Ponyta's are already pretty damn big. How much bigger can they get? ]

...They can get bigger? They're already huge!

Of course~. That’s how evolution works!

[Turning his head away from the camera, he gives a small whistle. There’s the distant sound of hoofbeats before they get louder and, soon enough, there’s a unicorn with a blazing mane nudging at his shoulder.]

This is my Ruby, the prettiest gal I know of.

[atlasrising]

[ Holy hell, does Rhys' jaw drop. ]

That's...a, a- [ He has to look down to his Dex for a second, hang on. ]

This thing says that's a Ra...Rapidash? That's what a Ponyta turns into!? [ Riding a giant unicorn was already pretty cool. But it was even better when it was a unicorn that was more or less on fire. Holy hell, cool! ]

How'd you get her...? It is a her, right?

[Joker puffs his chest up proudly at the reaction, even if Ruby’s own is to demurely bow her head. She doesn’t get such things often.]

Yup! Beauty, ain’t she? When I first got here a couple years ago, I got her from a breeder as a little one. Ya can’t ask for a more lovely steed. I mean, there’s plenty a Pokemon that are big enough, but I think Ruby here’ll always be my favorite for the land.
