third splinter - video [goldenrod city]
[ well well, look who it is. the resident pointy-shades who hardly left a room for an entire month to focus on projects. dirk is wearing a protective jacket in similar appearance to this. he's surrounded by an unfortunate amount of rotoms that have taken up residence in various things. a toaster, a lamp, ...a microwave (why?). rotoms, guys, rotoms.
he put one in a very small pikabot, because dirk has no self-control and wanted to build a robot. it keeps pretending like it's going to electrocute him. he keeps putting a hand on its face and shoving it to the side. ]
Hey. [ he really shouldn't have chose video. the way he gives is a little awkward. ] Remember that idea John Egbert had back in October? Probably not. To refresh, it was poké-proof clothing for the trainers. For when your team has an asshole on it.
I figured it out. [ and then that pikabot he stuck a rotom in actually does electrocute him. he isn't harmed by it but he scowls slightly at the pokémon. ]
Fuck off, man. I wasn't doing a demonstration right now. [ there is a mechanical laughter coming from it in response. why did he built that thing? what is wrong with him? he pinches the bridge of his nose before continuing and making a one-handed gesture to the jacket he's wearing. ]
This is a prototype. I was testing it using my own roster. It's non-conductive, fire-retardant, water-proof and will protect the wearer against most low-level attacks. If your Meowth comes at you with claws or bites you, you should be okay. But I've kept the reinforcement to the vital points and there is limited resistance to a higher levels of fire-power in order to prevent a loss of comfort and mobility. If a Beedrill comes right at your inner-thigh with a stinger, you're probably shit out of luck and I may question your training technique for exposing your inner-thigh to a Beedrill.
It has a built in hood. [ that he's not going to put up. he's got good hair today. ] And small mask with goggles for poison or light protection. [ that, he'll hold up in front of his face before putting back down. ] There are matching pants. I'll be streamlining the design in the future. It currently comes in blue, black or hot pink.
If you want one, you can place an order with me. I'm currently broke and will require funds ahead of time for materials and to pay Egbert a portion for the creative rights.
John, come get your Nidoran suit. And if you know me, I owe you a Christmas gift.

Holy shit, you actually made one! That looks awesome! Where are you? I'll come and pick it up right now.
You made mine in blue, right?
video
[ He shakes his head once ]
Hot pink. [ It's blue. ]
video -> action
[He wouldn't actually.]
I'm out right now, but I'll be by pretty soon! See you then!
[It takes about ten minutes or so for John to get back to their shared house, and he practically sprints up to Dirk's door. He nearly barges in, but remembers his manners at the very last second and knocks instead.]
Hey, Dirk! Are you in there?

[Yeah, that example hit a little close to home for Handsome Jack.]
But, yeah, color me interested! I've got some real assholes on my team, including a couple that weren't mine to start out with. Getting sick of constant trips to the Center and the Market after training sessions.
Video
[ He won't laugh but oh man. ]
I hear the traded ones take longer to warm up. If you give me measurements and make a down-payment in the amount of your choosing, I'll put you down as getting one. I'm still estimating the full price but I want to keep it affordable for people who actually need this thing.
Video
Yeah, yeah they do. One of'em's fine, but he's stupid as hell. One of'em, though...hell of a badass, and his first Trainer was reals hands on with'im. I don't exactly relish the idea of tackling a giant hellbeast and wrestling him to the ground with my junk and other soft bits unprotected.
I've also got a ton of money, so...I expect something impressive.
Video;
[Your poke-proof clothing is very impressive, but Armin doesn't have any assholes on his roster, so it is not too relevant for him. Robots though! He's heard about them, but he never thought he would actually get to see one.]
[Action]
Dirk? Might I come in, please?
[Action]
Wow. He is in so much trouble. ]
Hey. Sure.

[Action] what year is it
[Action] 2017 but considering current events I think we're back in 1950
[video]
Wow! I... I completely forgot about that idea! [She says in an awed tone. ooooh] It's really going to be able to protect trainers against all of that?
[ A single nod. He's still working on these right now. ] That's the goal. I've performed several test runs myself.

funnily enough i once got stung by a bee on the inner thigh
[This is relevant to Heather's interests.]
How much are you looking to charge for these things, out of curiosity?
omg that must've sucked
it sure fuckin did dude :(

[Because Riku can't stop looking at that pikabot. It's a neat idea. That it works in any capacity is really impressive, too!]

I didn't. I re-purposed parts from accessible sources and utilized a willing pokémon as a power source to allow autonomous functioning without creating another artificial intelligence from scratch.

totally handwavedroom at housestuck butthey have something in common besides a fondness for alliteration, because Ashley's been pretty scarce as well.
> just go talk to that person-
no take advantage of modern convenience
Everything about this just looks like it completely enthralls Ashley, from the robot (which she will have to ask about) to, obviously, the clothes.]
Ohmygosh, how? I mean- no no, it doesn't matter, how much'll it be? Um, like...can I buy one for me and one for a friend, or is it one per customer...?
[...nailed it]
He could just go talk to her. They could go eat lunch. Dinner? Food. What the hell time is it? A glance at the nearest alarm clock indicates that there is a rotom in it and time is a meaningless concept to it because all it says is "BEEP" on the screen. Nice. ]
A dangerous amount of test-runs. I'm keeping it around the price of a typical TM. No limit. You can buy one for a friend since I already had you down as getting one.

[Which is Aligula, who is slightly out of frame. It'll actually clash with his Mawile and Spinarak.]
Do you think it'll protect from a particularly bitey Mawile?
