001 : Day One, Can I Go Home Now? (video)
[Your video suddenly clicks on. Someone's already started their journey and hadn't bothered coming online yet, and only was on accident. There was a scene unfolding before you, a girl with thick glasses and really pale skin sat by the base of a tree and had a book in her hands. She appeared to be barely attentive to a stranger in from of her. The stranger was obviously a trainer, but the girl was in no rush to get up and engage. She obviously wasn't holding the camera, something else was.
The scene would go as follows:]
"Come on...just ONE go? We both got one Pokemon, I only see one ball!"
"Your eyesight does indeed work. But I told you, I'm not interested."
"But this is where trainers hang out! Why come where trainers go if you're not battling?"
"This is a good spot, no one said non trainers weren't allowed. But if you look just around the corner, I bet you'll find thousands. So why bother with me?"
"Don't you want to have your Pokemon DO stuff?"
"Fitzgerald is just fine. You're seriously barking up the wrong tree, I'm not making him fight if he doesn't want to."
"Aaaaaabraaaaaa..."
"Look, we'll double the wager. I really want to see what my Haunter could do!"
"Your Haunter."
"Yeah!"
"Haunter is a Ghost type."
"...Yeah?"
"So...Riddle me this, why bug me to battle your Haunter with my Abra? A Psychic type. Putting up a good wager on top of it."
"...Uh."
"So I take the bait with a high chance of you winning this glorified cock fight, and taking away money. You win, I lose. That's what I call glory."
[The trainer then turns around, very quickly. The girl then gets up, exasperated. She placed her book in her backpack before motioning over to what had the camera the entire time. Expressionless, and appearing apathetic, she dusted off her black skirt.]
"Let's get out of here, Fitzgerald. Before other trainers attempt at being smart. I'm feeling a bit too claustrophobic."
"Aaaabbraaaaaaaa."

Not too familiar with the place but I'm going to assume Niflheim are people who are Not Your Friends.
[Man, it was kind of nice to find someone who seemed to be mellow and sensible. She relaxed a little around him.]
Not one bit. Imagining them trying to gamble sounds funny until you realize how serious people are here about it.

[It's loads of fun.]
Yeah this place...I thought I had met some strange people back home but some of the people here and their enthusiasm towards fighting with Pokemon kind of win in terms of strangeness.

She kept these feelings to herself. Trust no one. Not yet.
Still, she found it hard to completely turn this guy, he made the most sense out of anyone.]
Someone finally seems to get it. Everyone seems to be so into all of these glory quests that they forget people aren't from a place with that logic, at least where it's at all acceptable.

[Honestly the idea of being here that long freaks him out.
A lot.]

She hated it. But she decided that wasn't this guy's fault and she knew better to not take it out on him.]
...I see. Well, I have a saying. It's pretty fitting.
"This just plain sucks."
[She frowned, she knew making an honest wise ass crack wasn't the best thing to do but it was all she knew at news like that.]

There's just something so unsettling about all of this. So many unanswered questions.
The prince snorts softly, grinning faintly at her comment.]
Pretty appropriate, if you ask me.

[She snorted actually again. Despite her discomfort, it was nice to meet a few people that felt somewhat similar. Didn't make her feel like such an outcast. Not that she would really care about that but-
-Smirk.]

She's definitely someone that he could get along really well with.]
I'm Noctis, by the way.

[It was simple enough at this point. She kind of knew when at least someone was alright enough that she could make it to the introductions and leave it simple after that. Noctis seemed to have earned the right of "we'll see" at this point. So as simple as this intro was, it was cross a barrier. That was how any friendship started with her. She had just few enough of such things to know how she was exactly when something started.]
Nice to meet someone with common sense.

[It wasn't often he ran into someone that matched his view on things. And sure he was a lot softer than he let on and maybe a lot less mature than Daria when it came down to it, but hey, he wasn't going to complain if she deemed him worthy of her name at least.]
Be careful out there. And like I said, beware of children. They're ruthless with their rats and birds.
