2nd Meal
[In the middle of the night there's a new post. All that can be seen is well... Blackness. And muffled voices, one raised, the other trying to keep the situation calm.]
IT'S A DAMN COYOTE! I HATE COYOTES!
Diana, calm down, it's just-
I'LL CALM DOWN WHEN IT GETS THE HELL OUT OF HERE!
[There's sounds of scuffling and things rubbing against the microphone, it's becoming increasingly apparent that the PokeGear is inside a bag. Most likely knocked on during whatever drama is going on outside said bag.]
WHY IS IT COMING CLOSER? GET LOST!
[Louder sounds of jostling and the screen gets a little lighter, Diana must be searching through the bag.]
Forget this! Caine, get rid of this thing!
[A deep angry feline growl and the familiar sounds of a fight.]
You did it! Now throw a PokeBall!
Right! ........ Wait- Fffff NO! [A long string of curses.] WHAT DID YOU JUST MAKE ME DO?

[But this is an excellent opportunity to figure out what to do next. As a self defense measure, Jinx calls out Cake who squeaks happily and then looks horrified at the size of their opponent.]

[Caine gives her a 'r u fing serious?' face. She still isn't great at the whole 'type' thing yet.]

[Meanwhile this little nerd has done her homework.]
You gotta try something else. Maybe a different pokemon?
[Apparently Cake took this as her cue and she spat out seeds at the Onyx which sprouted into small plants and began to leach health from the beast. Jinx looks shocked but then cheers.]

[The Onix roars and fixes its giant gaze on the tiny cherry. Smashing its tail and sending more rocks flying towards the small Pokemon.]

[ Cake lets out a squeal and is knocked about not fast enough to avoid the attack.]
Cake!
[Dramatic calling out of names aside, Cake is still bouncing around and absorbing some more of the rock monsters health.]
OK we either kick this things nonexistent butt, try to outrun it or...I dunno get squashed. But I can't take this thing on by myself.
[Jinx may have done more battling then Diana had (As far as Jinx knew anyway) But she was also aware most of her team probably wouldn't do well in a physical throw down with a pokemon like this.]

[Diana lets the long black lizard out of it's capsule. Caine hisses at her but she ignores him and looks at Diana.]
Care to help us out here a little?
[Meanwhile the Onix starts to bounce its head in time with Cake.]

[Cake uses this chance to...start cheering and dancing in place? She's looking at Sass while she's doing it and it takes Jinx a minute to figure out what's going on.]
Oh so THAT'S what helping hand looks like. I wasn't sure how it would even work because....well you don't have hands.

[Poor Onix was enjoying Cakes bouncing. Now he's hurt and mad again.]

[Cake seems pretty delighted by this turn of events and continues to provide power boosts to Sass, all the while her little seeds on Onyx are sapping away it's energy.]

[Speaking of, more rocks fall from the two smashes he got out before getting distracted again.]
I used my last pokeball trying to catch it before. So we either knock it out, or you catch yourself a new friend.

The Onix is caught off guard and the ball wriggles for a moment before stopping.]

[As for Diana she just looks...puzzled.]
How are you so against all of this? Battles and catching pokemon and whatever. You have a giant rock snake to control now. That's cool!

Diana shrugs.]
I'm not against it. I just don't see what I'm gonna do with it. I have to feed it and take care of it. How am I gonna do that? Plus, it's not exactly gonna fit in my motel room.

[Pokemon centers, stealing food from places they pass through, or stealing money to buy food.]
Call me crazy but I just like the idea of having a bunch of powerful little creatures loyal to me and willing to help me out if I get into trouble. It's like having friends except they're easier to store when you want to put them away.
[Cake looks a little put out by being referred to as "Like a friend"]

[She laughs and offers a softer smile.]
I'm not saying you gotta go all in like some of these trainers. But why even leave town if you don't like adventure? It's harder to steal pokemon in the city sometimes but at least you're not as likely to die in a cave in.
