Video / Action for New Bark/Cherrygrove;

[The camera clicks on to show a tall, young man in his twenties near some trees some recognize from the tail end of Route 29. He's got a backpack on his shoulders and a slightly slumped posture. It's been a bit exhausting on his part, but that's what happens when you have to deal with wild wilderness.

Clearing his throat, he starts to speak.]

Hey, so I know we've got a bunch of newbies. Looks like the road around Route 29's mostly cleared up by now, but if anyone needs items or a lift to the next town, Sora and I have you covered. Scooped up some food, too, but it's nothing fancy.

...Mostly just sandwiches, chips, and fruit. But hey, beats those berries, right?

Just thought I'd give an FYI before we set out. We're gonna be hanging between New Bark and Cherrygrove for a while.

[With that message out of the way, it's time to get cracking! He can be found at...]

New Bark Town;

[Really, it's hard to miss the seven-foot Charizard swooping over the rooftops. When Riku arrives, he's quick to glance around, trying to pinpoint anyone who looks particularly lot. Once he spots someone, he'll mosey over with his dragon lumbering behind.]

So, how're you holding up so far?

Between Cherrygrove and Violet;

[Unfortunately, toppled trees are a bit inconvenient. He'd already seen one trainer struggle, so once he's seen to the newcomers, he opts to venture down the road in hopes of assisting with the damage. Fortunately, when your team consists of huge, hulking monsters over the cutesy types, it's a bit easier to contend with.

First, we've got a Haxorus using its axe-like tusks to try and burst through some of the wreckage. Next, there's Flare, attempting to scoop up bits of debris and set them in an orderly pile. A Lucario and Scizor follow suit, with Aura Spheres and those big ol' pincers contributing in their own special way.

A Blastoise in shades stands by to offer water to anyone in need of a refresher. However, even with this band of large beasties, one trainer can only do so much, and the route itself takes well over a week to traverse on foot. Should anyone else be attempting to clear the way, he'll seek them out, smiling a bit sheepishly.]

Just had to make it rough on the newbies, huh? Much as I hate Violet, they deserve better than this.

Heh. Well, if you like dragons, there's plenty to go around.

[He tosses a Pokéball into the air, then catches it, not opting to send out another 'mon just yet.]

Plus you've got your dinosaurs, fire breathing dogs, living swords... I could keep going for hours.

_{[It is physically impossible for Maurice's eyes to get any bigger.]}

I won't complain! Everything I hear about this place just makes it better and better!

[Heh. This guy seems excited enough, so why not? Here, he'll even send out his Haxorus for a double dose of dragon.

Said Haxorus blinks a few times and gives Flare a puzzled look. What's going on here?]

_{[DOUBLE DRAGONS!!! Maurice swoons as he looks between the beasts. In this world it was possible for creatures just like these to be his friend!]}

Oh, woah! Hello! Hello! Are you even aware of how awesome you are?

[Cleaver gives a perplexed grunt before ducking her head and scratching her neck. What is this praise? This is so awkward.

The Charizard beside her snickers and offers Maurice a thumbs-up.]

Heh. Good thing I don't have Zen out. If you started praising her like that, she'd start blasting water everywhere.

[toothaches]

_{[THE DRAGON!! GAVE HIM!! A THUMBS UP!! Maurice can't handle this. He puts his hands on his head and just laughs out loud at the ridiculousness of it all.]}

I think I'll pass! I'm afraid a splash to the face might wake me up!

Hey, if you're worried, you could always pinch yourself.

[He presses his thumb and index finger together for emphasis. Sure, it's a cliched saying, but hey.]

Woah, woah, I'm not about to try anything like that! I want this to keep goin' as long as possible.

Well, yeah, but you could also prove that this isn't a dream.

[He shrugs his shoulders, though. Not like he's gonna force the guy.]

I mean, six years is a long time to be out cold.

I've seen plenty of soap operas, that's not a stretch at all!

...Man, you can actually stomach that stuff? That takes dedication.

[The level of hokey drama is just too much for him. He's more of an action guy!]

More like developed a tolerance for it. My mom had 'em on all the time. You don't interrupt my mother when her stories are on.

Heh. That serious, huh?

[Wow. That's some dedication right there.]

She one of those sorts to get emotionally involved in the latest plot twists? The kind who bawls her eyes out when the whenever the drama spikes up?

_{[He makes a face as he thinks.]}

...So when her favorite couple doesn't pan out, it's like losing the game?

[It's the closest thing he can think of, anyway.]

Yyyeeeeeeah, and there's a lot of yelling. ANYWAY.

_{[He doesn't want to think about Mom right now. Or any of his family. Maurice shakes himself all over and redirects his attention to the awesomeness all around him.]}
