Video 001 | A new chance
[The video begins with a young girl, looking to be around the age of 11 or 12, peering at the device. She had long, blonde hair, kept nicely in place with a blue, long-tailed ribbon which matches her eyes. She was dressed nicely. More fancy than anything, really, but not extravagant. Not really the kind of outfit one would expect on a every-day girl. She was clearly a high-class girl. She is unsure if the PokeGear can even be trusted, however, but she threw caution to the wind for the sake of knowledge.
Judging by what can be seen behind her, she was beneath a shady tree with some residential buildings off in the distance. She may be close to New Bark Town. Every so often, one may see a random bubble float around, accompanied by clapping and "Pop, pop!".]
"I am still not certain about this... It could be dangerous. Is it really for communicating long distances...?"
[The little lady glanced away for a moment. Above all, she seems timid and confused about her situation. Looking back to the Gear, she continues.]
"...Is there anybody who can hear me?"

[As Anastasia can see on her Pokegear screen, a young boy with a Noibat on his head is smiling at her.]
And you're right about the Pokegear, it's really useful when it comes to going online and meet new trainers like me. Although, it can do anything but letting me go back home...

*Sion's not wearing anything fancy, per se, but what can be seen is certainly respectably tasteful, at least; a gym leader has to be aware of his public image after all, right?*
Video
[Anastasia can see this. She has no idea if it means anything, but she does assume that he is someone important. How important? It's not important to know right now.
She wanted to follow up on her response, but she was so confused right now that she really could not find anything to say.]
Re: Video
I would guess that the last thing you remember, you were somewhere in your own world, then you suddenly found yourself waking up in a house here? Quite a few people have suddenly found themselves here in the same way. We don't know how or why, but you don't have to worry about things at home; time here doesn't affect time in other worlds.
Video
[Well, now she's started to get pretty scared now with tears threatened to well up. Luckily, she had a Popplio off screen that caught her attention, distracting her with some of its bubble theatrics, as seen by the bubbles showing up on camera.]
Re: Video
You aren't kidnapped.
*said gently, but firmly. Granted, he can't be 100% sure of that, himself, but it'd be a pretty poor job of kidnapping, all things considered, and technicalities are besides the point, anyway*
Have you ever heard stories about heroes suddenly finding themselves in magical lands and having adventures until they find their way home? It's a little bit like that.

[This is a very large kinda Viking-looking man who seems...faintly anxious about this conversation? Huh.]
Have you just woken up here?
Re: [video]
"Umm... Yes... I did. Maybe a little over an hour ago...?"

[And she seems so young, too. Poor child.]
This place is called Johto. People are often brought here from their homes - but it is quite safe. And I see you have met your Pokemon companion already? [He can't see what kind of Pokemon it actually is, but what else would be blowing bubbles?]
no subject
[But is she really? She has other threats to worry about. Meanwhile, a large bubble appeared behind her. As it floated upwards, it reveals a Popplio hanging on by its nose.]
"What season is it? How hot or cold is it at times around this realm?"

Well, the PokéGear's pretty tame. Worst you really have to deal with are people being jerks or idiots, but that probably won't be too common.
As for other danger... Well, guess it depends on how you plan to proceed. You should have a Pokémon with you- that'll make a difference while you travel, and if you build your team and train up, getting around shouldn't be a problem.
But that's on you. Battles aren't for everyone.

"...People being jerks or idiots...? Then... I suppose I will have to watch out for them and avoid hot areas."
[She glances over at her Popplio off-screen. It appears to relaxing for a nap now.]
"...As for battling... Are there any rules of engagement?"
no subject
[He pauses, chuckling under his breath. Man, he sounds like a total nerd right now.]
Biggest thing to keep in mind are that every Pokémon has its own strengths and weaknesses based on type. If you wanna make the most out of battling, it's important to memorize the ups and downs of each one... but I realize that can be overwhelming. Especially for a newbie.
no subject
"T-then let's start small... What should I know about Popplio's type?"
no subject
[One of the newer 'mons, so it took him a moment. He's been so busy, he hasn't gotten as many chances to go out and catch things.]
Well, that's pretty easy. Water's only got two weaknesses- grass and electric. Now, that might change during evolution- secondary types can either neutralize or add new weaknesses, depending on the type matchups.
But for now, you should be all right. A flying type could help with the grass weakness, and a ground type would neutralize that electricity weakness for good measure. Fire's also an option for dealing with grass, but you probably won't find many fire types this early on.

Hehe. Don't worry, the Pokegear won't hurt you. It's actually really useful. You can take pictures with it and stuff.
[But it will never turn off the ever present music. Yay.]
[At last, another girl to speak to. Anastasia will be acting considerably less meek now. You'll have to forgive her, though. Technology is not her specialty as she is a very, very old fashioned girl.]
"How can it 'take' pictures if it does not have hands?"
No, no. It lets you take the pictures... if you point it at things and press a special button.
[She has no idea which button it is, though.]
[That'a fine, she didn't either at the time.]
But there's a lot more about the world here that you can enjoy! Things like pokemon training, and battling, and traveling all over the region. It's actually really fun once you get used to it.
