Eleventh Sacrament: Eggs

[ The feed comes on and it's Walter again! This time he's at home, looking both uncomfortable and completely done with something. Around him are a large collection of his Pokemon; a Natu and Dartrix are perched by his head on the sofa-back, a Weavile is curled up on his lap and beside him on the sofa is a Mimikyu. A Phantump floats beside the Mimikyu and a Luxray is sat by his feet. None of them seem too concerned; the Dartrix in particular looks very prideful actually and the Phantump and Mimikyu are giggling to each other. He sighed deeply, sitting up straight. ]

Hello. My name is Walter Sullivan. I have been traveling recently and left my Pokemon at home, rather than putting them in the computer boxes. In my absence they...entertained themselves. And now I have several eggs to sell. The Pokemon around me are the parents. If you're interested, message me. I will be selling each egg for 500P and there are sixteen eggs for sale.

Oh, and Envy? If you are missing Lyra, she's here. She and Darkness have also been busy.

[Diana sees those breaks screech on the screen and it makes her smile.]

Thanks, Walt. 500P, right?

[ From the background comes a snickering sound. Walter turned and gave whoever it was a clearly unimpressed look. ]

It is-
Walt.
No.
Walt!

[ And lo, a Honchkrow glides in, taking pride of place on Walter's shoulder. It's clearly grinning at him with a mischevious glint in it's eye. Walter placed his finger and thumb over the Honchkrow's beak. ] No.

[Diana's eye widen a little at the sight of Darkness.]

Woah, he's a big guy, huh?

He is. He was given to me as a Murkrow, when I first came here. [ There's no denying the affection as Walter talks about Darkness, even if he's still not looking too happy with his Honchkrow right now ]

He's no less...mischievous for his evolution.

You did?

[Diana looks back at the room behind her to address something.] Strut, is that wha- [She stops herself because she has to stand up and walk away, to separate the two Murkrows that are sat snuggled up and preening each other.]

None of that shit, thankyou.

[She scoops the male and returns to where she was sat. The female fluffs up indignantly and squawks. Diana mutters back.]

Yeh, whatever, why don't you go be helpful and watch your kid?

[Her attentions back on Walter as she pets the male Murkrow, who doesn't seem as perturbed as his mate.] They gave me this guy when I got here.

[ Walter noticed the two preening and glanced at Darkness. Who merely nodded to Strut with a sly smile. ]

Be careful if you have a mated pair. Darkness has a mate - she belongs to someone else - and they have produced children. [ ...so many children. ]

Yeh, Hex is Jinx's but since we're traveling together I have to watch them. They already went ahead and had three kids.

[She lets Walter see a much smaller Murkrow, a bundle of fluffy feathers mostly, who's busy undoing the laces on ALL THE SHOES.]

I didn't mind keeping Pro but I don't want any more. How many did yours have?

The first time, eleven. This time, twelve.

[ Darkness began to snicker. Walter sighed out his nose. ]

The first clutch live with their mother but this latest group will stay here. Darkness insists that they are his, and he will oversee whoever attempts to adopt one. They are receptive to me and obey his commands, so it's not as problematic as it could be.

[ ...it was still frustrating. Darkness fussed with the collar of Walter's top to soothe him, as if preening him. Walter slowly lifted a hand to returnt he attention, stroking through Darkness' feathers. ]

Holy crap, really? How did they even make that many?

[Strut gives a congratulatory SQUAWK that makes Diana look down at him.]

Don't even think about it.

... I wonder if you can get these guys fixed.

You will have to inform me if you can. [ Darkness immediately HISSED at the pair of them. His children, specifically his children with his beautiful night shade Lyra, are a gift to the world. How dare you even think of that! ]

[ Walter leaned away from his hissing big-ass bird. Actually, he likes his bird obeying him. As he spoke he stood and headed outside - whoeevr was holding the camera followed him. ] Or not.

Darkness and Lyra lay clutches of five to six eggs, I've noticed. They usually hide the eggs and so far, have two clutches at a time. It is only after the Murkrows have hatched that they reveal them to us.

Wow, that's sneaky of them.

Jinx kind of found our guys with them. I took one while she had the others. I thought I better make Strut take some responsibility.

[She strokes along the Murkrow's beak.] You easily swayed slut.

[Strut gives a happy call, used to Diana's brand of affection.]

[ Darkness clicked his beak. Walter would never call him a slut. Or he would peck at him. ]

[ Now outside, Walter sat in the garden, legs stretched out on the grass. There's several other Pokemon milling around and enjoying the good weather out here. Darkness gave a low, deep call. ]

I made sure Darkness took responsibility as well, but he didn't need much persuasion.

Well, I don't think I'm ready to look after over 20 birds.

You might have to take a break from your girlfriend buddy.

[Strut ruffles his feathers; not gonna happen.]

[ At Darkness' call, there's a rustling of feathers...and yep, a flock of 12 Murkrow descend upon Walter. Some perch on his shoulders and along his outstretched arm, vying with each other for room. Others landed beside him or on his leg. He smiled softly at the gathered birds, clearly at ease with being surrounded by them. ]

According to the Pokedex, a Honchkrow can summon a flock of one hundred Murkrow. But Darkness will not be trying for that many children... [ He gave Darkness a look, who merely snickered and fussed over Walter's collar again. ]

[Woah, that's alot of birds. Strut gives a cautious call of greeting at the murder on screen.]

You seem pretty cool with it though.

A hundred? That seems a little excessive. Can they really have that many?

[ Darkness looked immensely proud of his flock. Said flock clammers for attention, from Darkness (who preens some of their feathers and chatters tot hem) or Walter, who pet the ones who demanded his attention. And he was very calm with it. He had liked ravens and crows before his death. He had even decorated his corpse with raven feathers. Having a flock of them that responded to him and were friendly; it was actually very soothing to him. ]

Darkness would only need to repeat this- [ He gestured to the brids around him ] eight more times to have a flock of one hundred. It seems- and is excessive. But it is what they're famous for. And a Honchkrow acts as their leader.

Really? They're famous for making babies? I didn't know that.

[She looks accusingly at Strut.]

Why didn't you tell me?

Die! Die!

Not for having children. For having subordinates. For Darkness, it just happens that he has children to act as his followers.

[ Darkness snickered at Diana's pouting. ]
Secret.

[ And then the birds all around Walter began to join in, some squawking, some whispering. ]

Shhhh-!

[Now Strut and Pro are chiming in. Hex plays no part thankyou.]

Stop trying to act like one of the cool kids, you two.

[ ...She says to the man WHO WAS RAISED BY A CULT. Walter just vaguely hummed. But it didn't escape Darkness' notice. He pressed his beak against Walter's cheek in a soothing motion, murmuring to him. ]

Not like that. No. [ He responded to Darkness, lifting a hand to pet him and sighing. The child bobbed curiously, hopping about him and on him. They began to join in. ]
No no! No no no! [ He turned to the camera again.</small. ] You get used to the chatter.

How do you go anywhere with all that?

They manage themselves for the most part. But when I need them or if Darkness wants me to train them, they will come. [ Ah, the benefits of a Honchkrow. ]

Wait, so you have to train all of them?

No. They require little instruction in using their skills.

So why does Darkness want you to train them?
