[ The video comes on and yet again, it's Danny the Lucario right up in it's business. He gives an excited bark as Ash addresses him in Irish. ]

Hey, are you sending to Anthy? [ Nope but clearly all their friends (and various strangers) should see this! Danny turned the camera, to reveal Ash standing beside a Ponyta; a rather large one for the species, whom he was affectionately petting on the nose and slowly petting through her fiery mane. She nuzzled into his hands, getting a hold of his jacket and chewing on it. He didn't mind at all, merely beaming at the Gear. ]

Anthy, thank you so, so much for this! She's so beautiful. Next time we meet up I'll bring her over, I just wanted you to see her like, immediately. I named her Amalthea. Oh shit, I should call Ford too...

[ He gently pulled his jacket free of Amalthea and checked inside. Danny moved the camera so it could catch a glimpse of a small Zubat, nestled inside and hanging upside down to snooze out of the sun's rays. Danny barked at him, making Ash frown. ] C'mon Danny, you gotta hang up first so we can call him- Wait. [ Danny laughs boisterously as Ash rubbed his face. ] Well I ain't letting you handle the camera again!

It's known as the normal type gym, but in truth, the gym leader uses only one pure normal type.

I looked into it the last time we were in Goldenrod. Supposedly, Witney always uses a Girafarig, a Clefable and a Miltank in her battles. So you should definitely save any fighting type pokemon you have for her Miltank.

Well that's just misleading. A Girafarig and a Clefable...I haven't heard of either of them. Still I better make sure I can get together a good team. With everything going on lately I've kinda ended up with a lot of new Pokemon...and I ain't send them into a fight like that. [ He's not sending babies into battle, he's not a monster ]

[Armin makes a soft noise of assent. He really doesn't like sending pokemon in unprepared either. He'd rather bide his time and train up and overlevel slightly than to send in an underleveled pokemon without a strategy and have them lose the fight because he was impatient.]

Do you have any pokemon with poison type moves? Those would work great against Clefable. Plus if you can inflect poison on it, it'll lose health every turn even without you attacking.

Poison types? Lemme think...I mean, Casper is a Ghost/Poison pokemon but he doesn't have any poison moves? He's a Haunter now, I got him as a Gastly. And ur...Macavity has a move. He somehow taught himself Toxic but I didn't teach him that and Eevees aren't meant to learn it normally, so I don't know where he got it from.

And Macavity is like, actually a baby. You remember when you showed me your Voltorb, Circinus? Circlus? Sorry I can't quite remember which one it was; but he hatched from that mystery egg and was a different colour, right? Macavity's my mystery child! And damn is he mysterious. You wanna see him too?

[Armin correct the name a little absently, trying to figure out the mystery of the mysteriously appearing move.]

I know when you breed pokemon, you can sometimes breed them to have moves they normally would not. Perhaps that is what happened? Whoever bred the egg you received bred it from parents with that move?

[Or something like that. Armin isn't a breeder, most of this is a mystery to him.]

[Armin had seen him just after hatching, but it'd be nice and see if he has grown any.]

Circinus! [ He's got it this time! But at the mention of breeding, he shook his head. ] Can't be that. I checked what he could do when he hatched and it wasn't there. It came up after we reached Goldenrod. I did think of something but...to be honest, I'm hoping I'm wrong.

[ He opened Macavity's pokeball and there he is, as shiny as ever. He had grown to full Eevee size, and his fur seemed smoother and a darker shade of silver, like a shiny grey. Upon seeing Armin, he lifted himself up and pawed at him. Hi friend! Ash chewed his inner cheek before continuing. ]

See, the Goldenrod Store sells TM moves, right? I didn't check them out too much at first, just picked up a catalogue to go over fully later, but - turns out Toxic is a TM they sell. But, they need people to use them, right? A Pokemon can't just use a random TM it finds?

[Hey lil' buddy.]

I wouldn't be so sure. They are incredibly smart. I don't think it would be good to underestimate them.

[Armin can't help a small smile.]

I know I probably should be laughing but... you did name him after a thief, after all. Maybe he got inspired.

Well. Fuck. [ He can't help laughing at himself a little. ] Guess I did set myself up there. Oi, what am I gonna do with ya? [ Macavity snickered, wagging his tail and hopping into Ash's lap. He pet him anyway. His no-good thief buddy. ]

If you see him getting arrested by the Jennies, gimme a ring yeah? Or if he's nabbed something he clearly shouldn't have!

[Just look at that eevee. He's pretty damn pleased with himself.]

Somehow he doesn't really look like the type to easily be caught. Just like a proper master thief.
