--we are. I believe it's on now. Queenie could you please hold this--yes thank you.
[A happy little twill comes in response as an Audino is briefly in view before she turns the gear on her trainer. The young man looks a little ruffled or maybe that's just his natural state, Newt absently adjusting his jacket as he sits down on a log.]
Yes, hello. My name is Newt Scamander and I am relatively new to this place. Only been around for a, ah, few days now, I believe it's been.
[His smile is a touch awkward and maybe even a little shy. He's really not good at this sort of thing.
A sharp little chirp announces the presence of a Starly that hops into view on the log, one leg carefully folded up and it looks as though it's been wrapped up due to an injury. Newt's expression melts into a genuine smile as he gently scoops the little thing up, allowing Merlin to rest on his thigh.]
Right then. I've just finished reading through what there is in the Pokedex, a rather fascinating read so many creatures I haven't encountered before--
[He's in his element here.]
--and I was wondering if there was..well..more. To read, that is. A library perhaps? Anything that could help fill in the gaps that my Pokedex is lacking until I can fill the rest in myself.

[He really didn't have interest in any of the other stuff. Sure the environments all the Pokemon lived in were important but the creatures themselves were his main priority.]
A Magizoologist, to be exact. Magical creatures and the like were my particular field of study.

[Nonetheless, he shrugs. It's not the end of the world, and frankly, he's used to it by now.]
Huh. So we talking unicorns? Dragons? The whole nine yards?
[Those are the first examples that come to mind, at any rate!]

[How strange. Perhaps there was an element of magic to it?
Newt smiled faintly, giving a nod.]
Those and much more. There are many different types of magical creatures in the world, ah, at least the world I come from. Though I suppose Pokemon are magical in nature as well.

[Though the details are hazy. It's been a few years, so he can't be expected to recall every finer point.]
As for Pokemon... yeah, more or less. I mean, they can read minds, use elemental attacks, transform when they reach a certain level. Somehow a wingless bird can still fly. They're pretty crazy.

[Was there a difference in Pokemon from region to region?]
Each type offers a different range of abilities, do they not? At least that's what I presumed while I was reading.
[He was honestly a little wary of the Psychic types but that wouldn't stop him from engaging with them.]
