So here's something I didn't know about Pewter City. They're really into food.

Oh...yeah. [Korra laughs a little and runs her hand through her hair. Or sort of, she's wearing a ridiculous tourist-y sunhat. It's big. It's floppy. It's got Magikarp on it.]

I'm in Kanto now. Finally made it over here...after years...

But Cissnei and I are in Pewter right now and I swear there's as many places to eat as there are Pokemon! Some of the food's kind of weird. I don't get what the big deal about 'deconstructing' food is, just make the food. I order a seafood chowder, I sort of expect chowder. Not...a bunch of mollusks on a dish and some weird seafood cream on the side. I mean it was good but it was weird.

My Pikachu are loving it here. I think they've doubled in size....

I have never seen so many restaurants in one place. Even back home, in the city, we didn't have anything quite like this.

[Cissnei had been window shopping when Korra made her post, coming back to her companion's side once she took a break. The red head was far more relaxed than she had ever really been, dressed more casually as well in a maroon batwing shirt, shorts, sneakers and a floppy sun-hat similar to Korra's put hers had Goldeen's all over it.]

It's enough to make me want to spend way more money than I should. [It's said with a grin though because she is having way too much fun to care.]

Same! I thought Republic City had a bunch...

[And Korra loves food. There's food here she's never even heard of before! She's just having fun trying it all. This whole trip has been a lot more fun in general than she'd thought it would be. It actually feels like a vacation.]

[And it makes a huge difference, having someone to do it all with.]

It's times like these I'm really glad I didn't bother with hotels or anything for like years. All that money saved adds up.

[Cissnei had noticed that Korra was quite the food fan and was more than happy to indulge in a food tour of Pewter City with her. Some of her Pokemon were as well.

Her grin melts into a smile and she laughs.]

My first pass through Kanto I tackled gyms and worked at the Pokemon Centers. I didn't really indulge much so this is a lot of fun.

[And not something she had ever really thought to do.]

I meant to ask, since I read about it in one of the pamphlets from the Pokemon Center, any interest in checking out the museum? I'm curious to see what other types of Fossil Pokemon there are.

Oh yeah, I heard some people talking about that. They display the fossils and artifacts found in the mountains. And they do stuff with extinct Pokemon?

[Korra hadn't wanted to eavesdrop, but it had sounded pretty neat. And she's interested in whatever history is available about this place. There's not much, but it's neat. And usually has cool legends and folk stories attached to it.]

Yeah, I want to check that out. I sort of think of Pokemon a lot like the spirits in my world. There's a lot of similarities, actually. So I'm pretty into their history and stuff. And I bet the people working there know all the local legends.

That's weird. I've seen some fancy-looking places in Goldenrod but I haven't run into anything like that. Do you think they're bored?

I dunno, it's like...food art, I guess? But I'd be happy if they just made a picture with my salad...

If nobody does that yet, I bet you could start a trend! Salad portraits!

I wouldn't be surprised if someone's doing it... I got a lunchbox once where all the food made a pikachu face!

Huh...who'd have thought?

[Jinx is pleased with this news though. The quickest way to get Diana's attention has always been food so if she can promise good food in Kanto that will help Diana agree to visit it.]

I'm always on the look out for new restaurants and places to eat though. How WAS the seafood? Despite being overly complicated?

It was good! The food's really good overall. And there's plenty of normal food places.

There's a restaurant everywhere here!

Is that what brought you to Kanto? Or are you looking to throw down with the gyms over there?

Actually...we're just on vacation. Hitting all the tourist spots and everything.

Sounds like a winning plan to me.

I was actually thinking of coming over to Kanto to check out the Police program. Find myself a proper job, take care of others. Become something respectable.

And she doesn't wanna leave Johto yet. So I'm gonna do a couple more gyms here before I do.

It's pretty neat. It took me like two years to get over here, but I'm glad I finally did. Kind of the same thing, my travel partners were never interested in coming over here so I stayed in Johto.

Ah it's so rough being patient sometimes. But It's worth it when you care about em huh?

Heh. Yeah. But now I've been traveling with Cissnei, she was already in Kanto when we decided to travel together. It's working out...really well. Considering we didn't even know each other's names when we agreed to meet up...

Is it expensive?

[See, this is why they got along so well. They had a lot of similar interests. And even when they didn't both of them were willing to compromise to make sure their vacation was enjoyable.

It was perfect.]

My thoughts exactly, in regards to local legends. [Cissnei grinned, moving to hook an arm through Korra's. Another nice change for Cissnei; being more engaging with others. Being more willing to touch in a casual manner. It was not really something she ever allowed back home.] And along the way we can try some of the desserts this place has to offer. I keep hearing about something called a crepe that sounds very intriguing.

Some of it! The fancy stuff. But not all of it.

Crepes are delicious. There was this great place back in Azalea that made them and served them with fruit and honey for breakfast.

[She links her arm with Cissnei's amiably, and whips out a pair of sunglasses. She'd taken them off to broadcast. This trip is turning out so much better than she'd thought it would.]

I bet dessert crepes are even better.

So, it's pretty easy to get ahold of?

Yeah, Pewter's like a foodie city or something!

Huh. So it's in Kanto? You sound like you're liking it.

Yeah, I've been on vacation in Kanto with a friend. We're hitting up everything, but we've been spending some time in Pewter 'cause there's a lot to do.

Look pretty fun. Have you been to Celadon?

I'll have to pay a visit to Azalea one day so I can try them. They sound amazing.

[Cissnei can't help but laugh as Korra whips out her sunglasses, both of them enjoying the tourist life way too much.

But it's hardly a bad thing, in her opinion.]

Anything with chocolate and strawberries has to be good. [She grins.] I might have taken a peek at one of the menus.

MAN, yeah, the food in Pewter is nuts. I hear you on the chowder-- I'm a New England girl, I like my clam chowder to be the real deal.

Can't say I didn't love eating there, though.

I think I might almost like it as much as the food in Olivine.

I have no idea what that means, but I'm guessing you take your chowder seriously.

I think so!

There've been a lot of cities and the names sometimes run together...

It's a pretty cool little town. There's a lot to do there.

[But Korra doesn't sound quite as enthused about Azalea as she has about most other topics. It's still a little bit of a depressing subject.]

But there's way more to do over here! So museum or crepes first? I mean...we should probably make sure we've got plenty of fuel for the museum...all that walking around...looking at stuff...

[That's alright; Cissnei doesn't mind. A conversation for another time maybe.]

Korra. Are you trying to tempt me to get a delicious dessert before visiting a museum?

[She's using a mock offended tone, shaking her head as she playfully sighs.]

What a terrible influence. [The facade only lasts for a moment before Cissnei laughs.] Crepes it is! Let's get ourselves some energy before we do something educational~

Aha! Nope, that one's still ahead! Apparently it's a really classy place that's a hub for fashion and cosmetics and gambling...

Huh, will you let me know how it is? My friend wants us to head over and stay for a month or so, so I'd kinda like to know.

--oh yeah, heh, different worlds. It's where I grew up-- east-coast people are real passionate about their seafood.

But yeah, Olivine's fucking great. I mean, speaking of seafood, I think I had the best fish there that I've ever had since getting here.

Yeah, sure! Not really sure when we're gonna get there, though. We're not really in any rush.

Like... Goldenrod is home, but I think after that, Olivine is my favorite place in Johto.

I don't really have a place that's 'home'. I've got a hut out by Mahogany, I guess that's close enough. I just haven't really found anywhere that really grabs me, you know?

But there's still a lot of Kanto and Johto left to see.

It took me ages to 'settle down' and hell, I've still spent more time away from Goldenrod than I spent in Goldenrod in the past year.

Not when there's only so much to do if you stay in a town. I mean, not that the towns and cities aren't great! They definitely are. But it's like I said. I just haven't found that...'wow' place yet.

Plus it's just the two of us.

[Korra has no shame. And she really wants crepes now. Sweet, delicious dessert crepes. Really it's all Cissnei's fault for mentioning them in the first place.]

True! I suppose I'm guilty of influencing you to come to Kanto so it's only fair that you influence me to try every type of food imaginable.

Aw man...my nieces would love that. Y'know now that I think about it, almost all the food here is kinda pretty in a way. Is that weird?

A lot of it is! And not just desserts.

It'd probably be weird somewhere else, but here...it kind of makes sense.
