Hello, my name is Sion Astal. I've noticed there seems to be a number of newcomers around here as of late. While I'm sure most of you have already gotten a basic introduction by now, should you still have questions, I have a guide of sorts touching upon some of the most common issues, and am certainly quite willing to answer any questions it doesn't cover.

Though, if you're wondering about the various strange occurrences that seem to be happening every Friday lately, I'm afraid so far there's no known explanation.

I distinctly note, Sion, that this guide is missing food and drink recommendations, nor does it mention Shuckles and their miraculous brewing abilities at all.

Well, I imagine the matter of food and drink would require a guide unto itself, don't you think?

Are Fridays normally weird around here?

They weren't before, but it seems to have become a pattern in recent months.

Could it be the fairy Pokemon doing it? I heard there are fairies here and fairies like to play tricks back home.

Is it the same here?

I suppose it's possible, though most pokemon wouldn't be powerful enough to cause something on this sort of scale...

I thought the legendary pokemon were really powerful.

The legendary pokemon are, yes, but very few of those are fairy types, as far as I'm aware.

Oh.

That's strange.

I figured the fairy Pokemon would be the most powerful.

No one type is more powerful than all the others, they all have strengths and weaknesses.

This world is really balanced.

I'm not use to that.

Well, I hope that comes as more of a pleasant surprise than unpleasant, in that case.

It does. It's just going to take some getting use to I guess.

That's fine. This place is certainly plenty strange to most people, after all.

I'm leaning toward the theory of 'the world just wants to mess with everybody', myself.

I don't think I'd like to imagine the "world" being an entire being unto itself...

Well, it doesn't have to be 'the world', I guess. Just something that's above Arceus.

I don't know if that's an improvement on your theory, Ryner.

If you've got any ideas for what else it could be, I'm honestly curious.

It could be related to whatever it is that brings people here in the first place.

Or simply some sort of natural occurrence for this world.

*this is a place that has nearly-magical "monsters" that fit into balls and battle each other with no fatalities after all...*

It'd have to be a pretty recent development for it to be a natural occurrence.

[In a moment of weakness, Shira accidentally lets go of the sock. The Null starts pawing for it as Ryner lifts it away.]

Then again, apparently whole countries have always been here, too, and the locals have always known about them. So I guess it could be part of that whole thing.

Which is why it's impossible to rule out yet the possibility of it simply being the normal manner of things in this world.

It's a bothersome natural order, if that's what it is.

You say that as if there weren't plenty of other troublesome things about this place at times.

Never said there weren't. Just because one thing is bothersome doesn't mean that a thousand others can't be too.

Nevertheless, it seems pointless to leap to wild conclusions or theories when we still lack answers to some of the more immediate answers.

Honestly, I'm mostly just putting a theory there based on what I know is possible. It's an answer, so I can go back to asking the more immediately useful questions.

Like why Shira likes my socks so much.

Perhaps because they smell like you?

[The way his webbed tail is wagging, Shira just looks so happy with that sock lolling out one side of his mouth and his tongue lolling out the other.

...To the extent that it can be seen past the helmet, but. Shira's tongue is always hanging out. Always.]

There are other things that smell like me that aren't my socks...

But they aren't so conveniently bite-sized.

Shira jumps excitedly and readies himself to start running, though he stays there for now. He's certainly not coming over though...]

*Sion just raises an eyebrow, otherwise making no move for now*

[He makes a small huff-like bark and tilts his head a little, but otherwise makes no indication whether you're right or wrong.]

Though if you stay over there, he'll probably grab it from you again, you know.

He'd run as soon as you approached him anyway, you know.

If you're trying to play tug of war, you'll have to come closer, you know.
