So. Uh. I guess I have work to do. Joker? I'm taking a break from the circus. Everyone else? I've got the Zephyr, Hive, Plain, Storm, and Fog Badges. That means I have Mineral, Glacier, and Rising left in Johto.

Anyone want to come with me? I'm guessing a bunch of us really want to challenge the gym leaders now, so we might as well travel together. I'm in Goldenrod right now, but I'm getting ready to head out.

Be careful with those last badges, though. You'll have to use more than flying types to beat those guys.

Yeah, I know. ... Not sure what to do about the dragons, though. I don't have a ton of ice types, and only one really solid fairy type.

Fortunately, one of Claire's Pokemon can be taken out easy with an Electric-type. Hazel isn't even fully evolved and she was still able to fight that Gyarados without breaking a sweat.

But for the other two, well. You'll definitely need something with Ice-type moves, at least.

Is her Gyarados the only thing with Water moves? Amy is Ice/Rock... and she's my only solid Ice type.

Eeerrr... no, she's also got Kingdra.

So you'd better have a Plan B.

Ice-types aren't the only things that can learn the moves, though-- I don't actually have any Ice, myself. Zilla's a Water-type but he knows Ice Fang, that's how I beat the Dragonite.

Nanook's not big enough to take on that kind of gym, and the only other ice type move I have is Mist, which... doesn't do damage. I can deal with water types, though... I can always pull Volts back out, and Sparky's getting pretty strong, himself.

Ye-eeaah, the trouble with the Kingdra is that it's part-dragon, and neither ice or electric seem to be that great for it.

You might have to just brute-force the thing with a neutral ty-- oh! Wait a minute.

Do you have any Fairy-types?

Yeah, like I said, I've got a single solid Fairy type. My Sylveon is maxed out I think.

... I also have five Spritzee, but they don't really battle.

Oh, right, right.

Uh, honestly, I think if you have an electric type for the Gyarados, your Sylveon for the other two, and maybe with one more who's just... generally strong in the wings as backup, you should be golden.

Yeah, I'll take along a few that are different types, just in case she's got some kind of nasty surprise. As for the ice gym... I've got a Torchic I'm raising. It should be at a decent level by the time I get there.

Yeah, but my Zebstrika should help with that... and Ice is weak against Fighting, right? I've got a few Pokemon with good Fighting moves.

Val-- my Hitmonchan-- was my frontrunner for that fight. Practically handled the battle one-handedly.
