The scene opens with Ivy adjusting the camera, intent on recording this event for later study.

She sits on the grass, the vague silhouette of a town behind her, and looks over her book, her own detailed notes littered around rough sketches and plant samples.

Her eyes lift themselves from the pages and instead fix on the furry creature infront of her. Long brown ears twitch and a fluffy tail swishes the summer grass back and forth.

Ivy closes the book and holds it out to her side, where a thick green vine gently takes it and replaces it with a mossy covered rock. The vine's owner, a relaxed looking Ivysaur resting in the cool grass beside Ivy, carefully lays the notebook down and looks to the side where a gathering of younger Grass Pokemon watch with keen interest.

Ivy pays them no heed and instead speaks to the small brown Pokemon. "Alright little one. Are you ready?"

The little Eevee infront of her blinked up with large trusting eyes and wiggles its tail in anticipation, not entirely sure of what was happening but eager to start moving around and get things done. A quick glance at the calm Ivysaur reminds her to keep still.

"Now, I know our last attempt with the Leaf Stone was a bit of a dud. But I've checked the notes and this time I'm sure we'll get results."

The Eevee cocks her head to the side in puzzlement as Ivy slowly brings the stone closer. Again, she looks to the Ivysaur for guidance, who lifts her head and nods it gently. With another excited wiggle of her tail, the Eevee presses her nose against the rock.

The resulting light startles a few of the observing Pokemon, who dash their way across the grass to their older counterparts but still Ivy pays them no attention. She is far too busy and focused.

She places the now useless rock on the ground and reaches her hand back out to touch the waxy leaf that made up the ear of the creature before her.

"Success." She smiles.

"Leafeon!" The creature chirps back.

Newt's smiling softly while the Flabebe on his shoulder let's out a twill of delight.]

You must have worked very hard with her to get her to evolve into a Leafeon.

[Ivy smiles as Brooklyn nuzzles her Trainer's cheek and chirps it's thanks.]

Yes, I'm very pleased with her. She has shown a lot of will and determination over the last month. And with her bravery during the recent events, she's matured very quickly.

[The Leafeon wags its tail at the praise.]

It has been. I hope, in light of all that's been going on, you've been doing alright?

[It's still hard to make direct eye contact with Ivy because damn does she fluster him but hey, at least he's not stumbling over his words!]

I have a feeling there are a lot of Pokemon who will be in a similar position in terms of maturity. This has been a rather trying month for everyone.

[He manages to focus on Ivy and Brooklyn--mostly Brooklyn though.]

You truly are a marvel though. The first of your particular kind I've seen in any capacity.

Well, of course I couldn't sit by with the forest under such a threat. So we've been up at Mt Mortar. Luckily, none of my companions were caught up in the blaze, though the aftermath was rather draining on us in the first aid tents. What about yourself?

[Brooklyn gives a happy call at Newt and sniffs at the camera before bounding off towards Tyler, a small Bulbasaur and shiny Gogoat, waggling her leaves in a very 'show off' kind of fashion.]

She is quite the sight. Perhaps you should come see her yourself?

[Her smile appears a little playful at that.]

I see you have the company of a Flebebe. A Pokemon I'm rather fond of mysef.

[Behind her, the small Bulbasaur at Tyler's side shift and warps into another Leafeon.]

I wouldn't expect anything less from you, Miss Isley. I am glad to hear you and yours are alright, though.

[He'd only heard about everything that happened at the mountain but that had been enough. It had to have been terrible.]

I--we're alright. I, em, may have...gotten a bit curt with a particularly Legendary Pokemon but it all worked in our favor.

[He scolded Lugia for being a brat. That's what he means.

Newt's cheeks heat up at Ivy's comment and his gaze flits from her to the Pokemon he can see behind her and back again.]

I-ah--that's very...you're very kind to offer but I am afraid it would take me quite some time currently.

[You are the worst.

Fae is giggling up a storm at how flustered Newt is only to trail off with a twill and a wave as she gains attention from Ivy. Newt is happy for the distraction and turns his head to glance at his companion as he lifts a hand to allow her to float onto it.]

Yes, I have two traveling with me. This is Fae and her companion is Morgan.

[He looks back at the 'gear just in time to spot the shift, looking momentarily surprised before he smiles.]

What is that Pokemon? The one that's currently a Leafeon beside yours?

My, my. Were you the reason the birds seemed in such a hurry to arrive? What a hero you are.

[She's smirking at his demeanor.]

That's a shame. I was planning a visit to the Lake as a well earned rest for my babies. I would have been grateful for your company. Perhaps another time?

[She waves a finger at the little fairy.]

What a darling. Nymph, come here sweetheart.

[She may have had her eyes fixed on Newt as she said the name. Regardless, a Floette floats into view, giving the camera a polite bow and tucking itself with its flower into Ivy's hair.]

This is Nymph. She's one of my first companions and has a natural gift in helping me with my other children.

[At his question, she turns to look.]

Oh, that's Boq. He's a Ditto. Boq.

[She gestures gently with her hand. The 'Leafeon' shakes itself into a small Starly and flies over to perch on her lap. Where it promptly melts into a pile of pink goo with eyes.]

A curious creature. It's capable of taking the form of any other Pokemon.

It was a group effort, I assure you. I think I was more responsible for how irritable Lugia was more than anything.

[But hey, it needed to be said.]

I--yes p-perhaps. Once I am back in Johto.

[Since he's going to be in Kanto for a bit.

Fae perks up at the sight of the Floette and floats closer to the 'gear so she can twill at the other, waving excitedly. A chuckle escapes Newt before he can stop himself and he nods in greeting to the Floette.]

A pleasure to meet you, Nymph.

[He had been well aware of what Fae and Morgan may evolve into eventually but seeing one in person, so to speak, charmed him even more.

But not as much as that curious blob did. His expression lights up as the Ditto shows it's true self and he draws his 'gear closer forcing Fae to drift back to his shoulder.]

So that's a ditto. How wonderful is he? Hello Boq! [Yep. He's lost to that melty mess of goo.] I had been about to guess Zorua as I have witnessed them shape shift before but I have to admit, this is even more amazing. What a lovely creature!

[Nymph calls from Ivy's hair, her small hand giving a little wave.]

Yes, he's certainly been an interesting addition to our family. But I'm pleased to say everyone has welcomed him easily.

[Ivy chuckles and holds Boq closer to the camera so Newt can see. The Ditto blinks and gives a ditzy sort of smile.]

[Fae giggles again and ducks under the collar of Newt's jacket.]

That's good to hear. I have read a few books stating that sometimes it can be hard for Dittos to acclimate in the wild and with a trainer.

[His voice is tinged with a bit of a laugh because Boq is just precious.]

He reminds me of something I might encounter back home.

[Rakka couldn't help but watch the spectacle as it goes. Evolution is always an amazing thing, no matter how many times she sees it, and it leaves a bright smile on her face.]

Aaah, a Leafeon! Congratulations, I hear that they're pretty strong.

I know how you feel. All of the Pokemon I've caught since I got here have all been so different... but I really love all of them. There's just so many of them in the world.

[She even likes the ones that tried to bite her at first.]

Yes, even my Lesia and Rafferty or Helen and Plum are very different despite being the same species.

Lesia and Raffery are both Gloom. Helen and Plum are a Sunflora and a Sunkern respectively, though I've had Helen since she was a Sunkern.

Ah, no dear. I did try that but in fact Brooklyn needed a Mossy Rock to become a Leafeon. Strange but true.

....wait is that like a special kind of moss or could I literally just find any rock with moss on it? I mean I don't have an Eevee yet but maybe someday.

Just one, I'm afraid. The Plain Badge. I'm going to try again here in Mahogany but my babies require some training first.

Luckily, I've recently become friends with a certain boy who'll be most helpful against the Ice types.
