It's my fourth birthday in this world.

I never even realized I had a birthday, before this world. I'd never thought about it. It didn't mean much to me, when I learned about my own. I hadn't been here very long, everything was still new and in transition. This life was like some strange dream, I lived it but it didn't yet seem like mine.

I'm not certain what it means to me now, but it's come to hold some sort of importance. My birthday, not this life. This life has long been important to me, that sense of a dream has passed. If anything...well. What came before was the dream.

[Or nightmare, but she doubts she needs say that.]

It's funny. Change never happens all at once, it's never noticeable. It's a quiet and creeping constant beneath daily life until one day you simply realize things used to be so different.

You used to be so different.

I'm mostly just reflecting on how long this life has been mine, and what it's done to me. How I've changed so much over the years without realizing it. I always thought becoming myself would be a quick thing, like a switch being flipped. But it hasn't been at all.

But thank you, I do appreciate it. And I am thankful for every day of this life.

Oh, that doesn't matter. I never make much of a fuss over it. I only started doing anything for it last year, and that's just because Timothy invited me for our first date.

So I suppose it's a day that marks many things.

If you must...I like chocolate and books and things for my baths.
